Revolutions was a great consolation for an impromptu day of fun. Having ventured out to Whiteman Park, not realising that the train wasn’t operating I found implored the woman at the information desk for suggestions and that is how revolutions eventuated. Armed with a map we set off stopping only for one spontaneous play before crossing some railway tracks and entering the museum. The woman at the counter was lovely and the museum was completely ours for the hour that we were there. Taking a 6 and 8 year old was a great idea as they were issued with«retain information for a prize» clipboards which inspired them to find some answers, allowing myself and my partner to explore our own interests throughout the exhibits. The museum is set up to walk you through the evolution of transport from the horse to the bicycle, the tram to the train and finally the car. There are several interactive exhibits including the tram and car which you can effectively operate from the drivers seat! There are also several helpful brochures outlining walks and rides not just around the park, but also Perth. The cinema at the end re iterates the evolution of the wheel with an animated figurine who looks like a bleached gumby on juice. The black room is a great chill out area but the massive cushions are deceiving in their appearance– heads up– do not jump into the cushions, you will be hit for 6! Upon exiting there are also a couple of craft tables and several cut outs of cars, trains and trams to play with so the fun really never ends– all of this for a donation! Revolutions spins me out– what a great place to be!
