PIzza is good if a bit overpriced($ 16 for a 9″). The topics seem a bit excessive(as in too many), at least from reading the menu. Had the cleaver — meats and onions and a bbq sauce that could be forgotten. The location is wonderful, and the place certainly offers the refreshing backwoods style of the Vale(clean, corrugated iron). Friendly staff indeed, plus they are open until 530p on a Sunday(not to be taken lightly!).

I’m not the worlds biggest eater of pizza. Well, I wasn’t. Pizza Kneads could well have changed my perception — and my palate. Yes, Pizza Kneads is tucked away behind Hither and Yon, and yes it’s ‘way down south’ in delightful Willunga; but that’s no reason not to go! In my opinion every south Aussie should visit Willunga once a month anyway, so whilst you’re there eat pizza at Pizza Kneads. It really couldn’t be more simple. We chose to share 2 pizzas between us; a succulent lamb one, and an incredibly novel BLT one. Both were totally delectable. The base is thin but not overly crispy; the toppings are lavish enough so as not to overfill; but the thing that leaps out and smacks you square in the face is the freshness. The ingredients are SO fresh that one of them pinched my bottom! Yes — that fresh. If you add that to a wonderful outdoor eating area; staff as friendly as can be; reasonable prices and another reason to visit Willunga — I need make no further comment. They certainly satisfy my Pizza Kneads …

Let me tell you how impressed we were by Pizza Kneads … we visited during the Unilocal Willunga Wonders tour, and booked a table straight away for the Tuesday after ;) THAT’S how impressed we were! We were impressed that they were open on a Tuesday night to start with(since that’s our usual dining out night!), and when we arrived we were the only ones there! Actually, we were the only ones there the whole time — which is great because we were able to chat to the owner Greg, who is truly inspirational and passionate about his business. I just hope that they can stay open on Tuesdays! We started off by ordering a delicious Tempranillo(H&Y is the building in front of Pizza Kneads), and Greg brought out delicious local olives. I then ordered ‘The Clarice’(yes — it’s a lamb pizza!), and my partner ordered a Margherita(by which she judges all pizza shops). Both were absolutely delicious, and my partner declared it one of the best Margheritas she had ever tried! The ambiance is lovely(the oven is aesthetically pleasing as well as useful!), and there is a wide variety of all the materials you need to make pizza at home, as well as some other Willunga produce(like olive oil and herbs). All in all, we were super-impressed by this place, and already can’t wait to go back and try more pizzas! Oh — and they do gluten-free bases too ;)
