Popoff

Been there a month ago. We wanted to have a cake and a drink but the owner was extremely rude. In other occasion tried their cheese cake that was ok.

A little restaurant on the Oude Koornmarkt with good desserts. We arrived there after walking through Antwerpen for hours looking for a nice place to have a piece of cake and some coffee.
Unfortunately the owner was rude to us. He told us it was impossible to serve desert, we could only have dinner because «everyone in Antwerpen eats dinner between 18:00 and 20:00». When we told him we did not know that and were really in the mood for a piece of cake, he said «you should have done some research before leaving the house»
We left the place but the owner relented and came after us. He gave us a table in the back and it turned out the restaurant was almost deserted. I had a macarone with chocolate mouse and raspberries, and my companion had the sachertorte. Both were good.
Summing up: 3 – 4 stars for the food but only 1 star for customer service. On average a «meh» experience.
