Planet Fitness – Brampton – Centennial Mall

First off, 10 – 20 $ monthly is Unbeattable.PERIOD. If you are focus on your goal, the price doesn’t matter. I have been to many gyms in my life and what I need most is to keep my change in my pockets!!! To all the people that complain about weights not being over 75 lbs… why would you even sign up there?! clearly, the average people working out don’t use weights above that unless you are seriously trainning for competitions etc. I haven’t been a member too long, but so far my problem is the damn crowd!!! I am now convinced not a single person go to work in Brampton!!! this gym is a full house all day and night!!! I’ve always been able to access the equipments but I love working out without the heavy trafic, people watching & noise. The staff so far is ok, on my tour, the girl seemed so damn depressed to be there lol no smile, no expression nothing… I have seen her a couple times, still no change. A walking dead, that’s a bad look for greeting people at the front desk. Since I don’t care much for that, I still think it’s a great place to go. I just wish this gym was bigger or that they would stop taking new members for a while lol yeah… not ever going to happen!

I really wanted to join this gym, but unfortunately the only payment method available is direct payment from my bank account. I was hoping to sign up for a PF Black Card membership, but after scouring their website, and calling the gym, they only accept direct payment. Regardless of how good or poor the gym is, I will not allow them access to my bank information.

Surprised to see so many negative reviews for Planet Fitness. I may have just joined but I’ve been really, really impressed. When I first came in for the tour, I was trying to find the «catch» that made it so cheap. I could not find one.
For $ 20 a month you are part of a ²⁴⁄₇ gym with unlimited tanning, massage chairs, and massage beds. The gym is staffed ²⁴⁄₇ so you don’t have to tan during limited staffed hours either. Running a tanning bed is expensive! How do they even make money?! You can also bring a guest every single time you work out and you get half price drinks so can get a big 700ml cold water for $ 1. Not bad at all.
Must be a crazy long term contract or cancellation fee, right? Nope. You just have to cancel 10 days before your bill date. Goodlife requires 30 days for some odd reason PLUS their $ 99 cancellation fee. You can also go to any Planet Fitness location, including in the States.
So I figured they obviously won’t have classes. But they do. I’ve yet to use any of them so far but the fact that these exist is crazy for a gym of this price.
Staff are everywhere. In my times there so far, I’ve seen staff cleaning machines, the water fountain, etc. They ensure everything is kept well maintained and the gym is beautiful as a result. As an aside, I love the purple machines!
The different circuit rooms are also really cool. I know Goodlife on Main had a similar «circuit» but having it in its own special room with light cues? You can’t beat that.
All in all, I don’t even understand how this place functions. I used to work at a small community gym and so know the costs of running a business of this sort. Offering memberships at these prices does not make sense to me at all but I am not asking too many questions.
Pretty much, if you’re paying $ 10-​$ 20/​month for a membership here and you don’t think you’re getting your money’s worth, you are a crazy person.

First, you should know you get what you pay for. shouldnt expect high standards for a gym that’s $ 10 for a month– that’s 2 subway sandwiches. if you want access to cardio machines, this is a great place; there are rows of treadmills and ellipticals and some stationary bikes. If you’re looking to bulk up, maybe you should look elsewhere. If you want better accommodations, buy a membership at the brampton recreation centres, there’s one 2 blocks away (membership would work at all rec centres across Brampton), and most of them have gyms that aren’t busy because no one really knows about them, everyone goes to goodlife fitness so they can carry around their goodlife fitness duffle bag lol
dont join if you’re not 100% sure. gyms and cancellation fees are annoying.

I wanted to go a few different times (during different hours) before making a review.
In short… I really enjoy this gym! It’s clean, there is a ton of cardio equipment and the price is right.
I pay $ 20/​month so that I can bring a friend every time I go — this is great for couples as we both don’t have to sign up and I can bring other people too.
The 20/​month gives you access to the spa equipment but I haven’t tried that out — I will update my review when I do.
There is always cardio machines available even when it’s busy — in fact I haven’t ever had the issue of getting two beside one another for my husband and I to work out side by side). Keep note that I mostly only go for the cardio machines. The weight machines can fill up, but there is usually a few open.
Some of the staff are friendly, while some others definitely could even just pretend they want to be there. Overall I haven’t had any issues with the staff though. If you’re the type to slam weights they will call you out for it though with their alarm. Check in is quick and easy — always a staff member at the front desk.
The no judgement is true 98% of the time. I’m a big girl and sure it might look weird seeing me at the gym and I’ll get the occasional person who is rude and gives me a dirty look — but in reality 1 out of 50 isn’t a big deal. Haters ;)
I’m really happy I joined — it’s great for people trying to get in shape. You may feel the need to upgrade to a different gym if you’re a gym rat though — their weights don’t go super heavy and it’s more or less a cardio gym with some circuit options.

The gym itself is decent however the management at this gym is a joke. There is never one on site no matter what time of day I come in or call. I find the morning staff to be very friendly and helpful to the best of their ability. Afternoons seems to be “green“, lacking basic customer service skills.
Basic ordering skills seem to be lacking. One is expected to wipe down their machine after use… How is one to do this if the club is out of paper towel. This has happened on at least three different occasions. The fridge of waters, juices, Gatorades and Muscle milks is regularly out of stock.
One should not have to ask the staff to fill spray bottles or to put out paper towel. This should be regularly checked and completed by staff.
Bathrooms are dirty. Garbages are full and/​or over flowing. Showers are dirty and full of hair. Locks on bathroom stalls are missing and have been for months now.
Air circulation is poor. Two big fans circulate stale air through the gym. The studio rooms don‘t seem to get any circulation and tend to smell very badly.
Gym needs to get their sh*t together and it could be a great place.

Dunno why the hate on this place. Everything’s clean, everything works, the only machine I ever saw out of service was fixed in a few days time. People are going to a $ 10 gym with $ 60 gym expectations.
The only 2 employees I’ve ever seen there are very nice to me. They’ll talk to me for several minutes sometimes on my way in or on my way out (if they aren’t busy with a line of customers, which I won’t pretend don’t exist)
This gym is very busy and very crowded at pretty much all times of the day. Probably more people here at midnight than would be at LA fitness or Good Life at 7pm (used to go to both). There’s also a lot of people who come in groups and seem to «hang out» around workout equipment without actually using it. But none of these people have ever given me a hard time when I asked them politely to move. The employees can’t be totally to blame for members coming in and screwing the pooch.
Lastly– the biggest con people seem to mention most is the lack of heavy weights /​free weights and small weight training area. I feel like if you really need something more than a 75 pound dumbbell, you probably already belong to another gym and this place may not be for you. I was leg pressing 600 lbs on the 45 degree machine. And I didn’t even need to steal plates from the squat rack. Is that not enough? Only the most elite of athletes can honestly say they can’t make what weight equipment they have here work for them if they tried. And I doubt those people are all concentrated in Brampton. Sounds more like a preconceived «bro» mentality that I’m glad this place doesn’t endorse

Although the gym is very busy, it is well maintained. And staff arent too friendly. If only I didnt need to sign in *sighs

I had issues with people not cleaning the machines and equipment after they use it. I spoke with the manager about it after I had educated a client that didn’t not know the rule and another lady had attacked me by saying I was a bully and a bunch of other things that she would have know we’re not true if she didn’t walk in while I was explaining to the lady the what we need to do and showed her the cleaner. She apologized before the rude lady walked in on the conversation. She started to yell at me in the club saying this is a non judgmental environment. And went on trying to belittle me, adding she is a social worker. [Which I am as well] this a bunch of bull as she was judging the situation without knowing the circumstances. So after the manager Steve is called over to explain the guildlines to the crazy women. He wanted to cancel my membership. Because I’m not to educate or help anyone in the gym. Instead I’m to tell staff every time someone does clean their machine. Like I have time for that cause not too many people their clean after they use it. Steve seems to think that the scheduled times staff do it 2 times a day is enough. I wish he would have cancel my membership that day so i don’t have to pay the ridiculous cancellation fee. I rather pay more money and know they value their clients and the cleanliness of the gym then be in a gym were you just might leave with ring warm or athlete’s foot. Just saying. It could happen in environments that support a nasty person who refused to clean then someone who is willing to help spread the word of the policies we all signed up for and agreed to. As at this point the staff is overwhelmed and things are falling through the cracks. At this rate this gym will be a living breathing host of all bacteria and fungi. So when people ask me why I keep 2 memberships. I tell them. I use one for unlimited tanning and the other membership is for lifetime and I do everything else their. Lifetime is a true top of the line gym. Even the YMCA would be better then this place! I don’t want to be in a place were a manager keeps a person who is so wrong and dirty and wanting to revoke someone who wants to keep it clean. Go figure. I’ll stay at a gym I know is clean and staff are available on the floor and everywhere in the gym when needed. Planet fitness is a large adult babysitter for people trying to kill time. Most the people their don’t have a clue as to what their doing and someone will get hurt this way. Plus few 30 minute classes that end before you can get into it or sweat. So, after my year obligation to you I will stay solemnly with Lifetime. If they would let me post this without a star I would. But won’t let me So 1 star because I’m forced to
