Eccotique Spa – Metrotown WEST

Came in for a peep toe pedicure, the staff here are all friendly and sweet. For just 5 dollars more than I was paying at a strip mall dime a dozen place I got to have a way better experience! Spa environment with lemon water and tea, to facilities you know beyond a doubt are clean and single use which gives me great peace of mind. I don’t go for pedicures very often, but I will be back here for sure, quality over quantity! If you check in on Unilocal they give you a discount off your services!

Edit #2: back to 4 stars for responsiveness. Business Manager Amanda had a chat with me about this service and is offering me a re-​do of the same service, or credit towards another service. I like that they’re responsive to customer’s reviews and I’m willing to give this spa another try.
Edited from 4 stars to 2 after 10 days. My nails are starting to peel. ⁴⁄₁₀ are peeling, while 2 are already 25% gone. I’ve never had Shellac or Gel nails peel on me before… and they’re supposed to last at least 2 weeks? :\

Spontaneously walked in to Eccotique for a nail appointment yesterday and the lady was able to fit me in for later in the day. I’ve been keen on getting my nails done lately and it seems Eccotique has pretty good reviews.
The nail stations looked very clean. Pedicure stations looked super comfy with lush pillows on top of couches.
My manicurist wasn’t very chatty — which I like. However a lady at the station next to mine was very chatty with her manicurist and it was a little distracting.
I picked the shellac polish change service. I consider this a very good package for someone who doesn’t care for all the bells and whistles of a manicure and just want to look put together. For $ 25 you get your nails filed, color coat, and lotion afterwards. The basics.
The end results looked good, there was one single nail that wasn’t fully polished (the side of it), but nobody will notice unless looking very closely.

This review is long ovedue! I came here on my birthday (this past December) to treat myself. I got shellac manicure, hot stone arm massage, and a relaxation body massage.
The inside of the spa is very clean and well-​decorated. The waiting area is tucked away in a quiet area away from the entrance. The service was great. As soon as I came in, I was offered a cup of tea. The girl who did my nails was very patient, even though it took me awhile to decide on a polish colour. I wish they had more colours for me to choose from. However, I tend to find that there are less option for shellac at any spa/​salon. She did a great job on my nails and I was happy with the end result.
I actually didn’t decide to get a body massage until I was there that day. They were very accommodating and was able to book me in for an appointment right away. They gave me a choice between three different scented massage oils — all of which were very soothing. The massage was very relaxing and I actually fell asleep during it.
I didn’t feel rushed at any point and had a very relaxing experience overall. I have been meaning to go back, but just haven’t found the time!

Came here for a pedi with a friend and had a very lovely spa experience. Was ushered into the waiting area and offered tea or water. Waited a few moments and was taken to an elevated seat with cushions. My technician was friendly but not overly and gave me a great pedi with essential oils, leg massage and beautiful nail polish. My guy friend had a shorter treatment than me and was given a parrafin wax so we could sit together until I was finished. Ace. For new customers they offer 30% off your next service if you book with the same technician. Great! I’ll have another pedi in a month!

This place is a great spot for a little relaxation after some hectic mall shopping! Or if you’re in need of a gentlemen’s pedicure this is the right spot. I got the basic pedi and it was great! Would for sure return again.

I love coming here because I can call in a day before, or even the day of, to get their Dermologica microzone facials! Anna is my girl and she does an awesome job, every time!
The staff here is always friendly, they always kindly offer me tea or water before and after my service, and they are well equipped to answer any questions regarding any of the products. Most of all, they don’t pressure me to buy ANYTHING!

Long overdue to send in this review as I had my first pedicure at this Metrotown West Eccotique Spa back in January. One of my greatest concerns in a nail salon is the level of hygiene practiced in the way the tools and equipment are sanitized. I can honestly say that the service given by Serena completely put my mind at ease as she demonstrated techniques and skills to give me one of the best pedicures ever. It was reassuring to be told that the files are only used once by each client.
These days, it’s hard to find really good service, professionalism and genuine sincerity and friendliness… well, you can expect this when you find someone like Serena! For the pedicure itself I would rate this as ⁵⁄₅.
As for the ambiance 3.5 (Seating and waiting area before the treatment could be a bit more spacious and comfortable and I missed the use of a massaging chair during the pedicure)

Had a really great facial done with angeline (i think that’s her name, if memory serves me correctly. Long, black hair, around 5 ft ish.). Very friendly, professional, knows what she’s doing (it’s nice when people working on your face don’t screw up :-P), and overall wonderful to be around.
Love coming here. Everyone is so nice, especially monika and angeline. They’re the dream team of aesthetics. :-)

I got a brazilian wax here yesterday from Serena and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. She was quick, it was relatively painless and she’s very sweet. Quite meticulous too. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it’s a bit more expensive than other places. Overall, quite satisfied! (ask for Serena!)

I came in and was greeted by Anna who would be doing my facial. She lead me into the waiting are and brought me water.
The waiting area was further in from the front of the store which was nice as I opted not to wear makeup and didnt feel like being stared at from anyone walking by. There was some weird stains on the couch. I’m hoping it’s coffee or hot chocolate?
Anna was very friendly. I waited no time at all for her to take me into the room. She asked me about my concerns and what I wanted to focus on, to which I replied extractions. She recommended the dermalogica facial for oily skin which was the same price and duration. The massages were heavenly. Once it was over I did not want to leave. It was all too nice. She left the room and told me to take my time getting up which I did! Not moving for that long has consequences lol.
On my way to the front I stopped in to the washroom and didnt see much of a difference in my face. It is now a day later and I still don’t. The extractions could have been better and just… more of it. She only did it for about a minute and that was the biggest reason I was there. Maybe it’s my fault for not being more clear about what i was hoping to get out of it. The whole thing was more about relaxation than actual results. But they are damn good at making you feel relaxed and pampered.
I definitely took advantage of the 15% off and bought some lovey OPI nail polishes as well as my favourite aveda shampoo and conditioner. it was a steal with the discount!
When i left to put on makeup i realized there were bits of something around my chest area that hadnt been wiped away properly and some white crud near my eyelid. I wish she had tried harder to make sure everything was off or at least told me so that i could do it myself.
I went on a Saturday and the mall was crazy busy. Luckily where the facial happens is two rooms in from the mall so you can’t hear any of the bustling. I couldn’t even hear the conversations in the room beside me. I did hear when there were announcements made in the mall, but there were only two and they didn’t drag on. I think that the convenience of the location outweighs any disadvantages.
Anna was great. She pretty much took my lead of when to talk which was great. She made me feel comfortable and I felt like I could trust her which helped me to relax more. I do recommend Eccotique and I will be back but I think I will try a different facial next time.

Throughout the course of our session together, Serena demonstrated that she is the epitome of professionalism, dedication, and courtesy in a stylist. I had heard that some consider it uncomfortable to have their eyebrows waxed, but Serena completed this difficult task quickly and efficiently. She was also highly personable and talked with me the whole time, which assured me that she cared about the outcome of our time together and truly valued me as more than a customer. The results of her styling were simply stunning, and I felt as though I was in capable hands the entire way.

I’ve been to this eccotique (old navy) for a couple of services for years and they have always been great. Just had my facial today and yet again AWESOME!!! Highly recommend Monica, she’s been the best.

got a Brazilian wax and it was really good! didn’t notice they missed a couple hairs till I got home but whatever. the lady wasn’t awkward at all!

I recently visited Eccotique (near Old Navy) for my waxing needs. I am new to Vancouver, and decided to give this location a try after reading some of the reviews on here. I was booked for a lower leg and Brazilian wax. The ladies at reception were welcoming. My waxing technician was very friendly, and kept conversation flowing during the waxes.
This so far warrants my two stars. I was dissatisfied with the overall execution of the waxing. I have had many Brazilian waxes before, and it is my understanding that it is common to powder the skin around the bikini line before waxing this delicate area. The technician did not do this, and I ended up with some painful scabbing where some skin had been ripped off during the wax. Ouch. The post-​plucking to remove stray hairs was done poorly, she missed several obvious ones, and the landing strip I requested was misshapen and sloppy. I ended up fixing her mistakes at home.
The leg wax was done decently well, except for the fact that she missed a huge patch of hair on the one side of my leg, which I noticed after I left the mall, unfortunately. Generally, she seemed in a rush to finish.
Overall, the ladies at Eccotique are very friendly, but my technicians skill level with waxing was subpar. Their customer service would excel if in the future they would take the time to focus on the little details that make a service memorable.

Such a pleasant experience from making the appt on the phone all the way to check out. I went based on Annie L.‘s review and asked for SERENA as well. So glad I did– super friendly in a genuine way and she did a marvelous job on the pedi. I even asked if I was getting the «expensive» pedi by accident ($ 59 vs $ 39) but she said the scrub was included in the basic. If you are afraid of chopshops like I am, but don’t always want to shell out $ 85 bucks for a super high end pedi I recommend this and honestly I don’t see a difference between the super expensive one’s and this one (except for maybe a lack of paraffin). Anyways, loved it, will be back again and I highly recommend.

I’ve been getting pedicures regularly from SERENA for almost two years now. I absolutely recommend her. I have tried many different places and different girls in and out of Eccotique East & West, and she is the only one I will go to now. She is professional, clean, and easy to talk to which makes the visits fun. She won’t let me walk out the door until SHE and I are both satisfied with the job she has done, She holds a higher standard for my little toes than I do, as it seems. I think that they look good, but she will make sure that they are perfect. I think they last longer than the pedicures I’ve received elsewhere. It’s hard to find people who are so dedicated to ensuring that they provide services that they are proud of like her.

I love this place. It is conveniently located, they always stick to their appointment times, are clean and use high quality products. I switched to this salon as my hairstylist, Nima, moved here and I’m really glad he did!
Nima is the best hairdresser I have ever been to. He always listens to what I want and gives me good advice. I’ve never received a bad haircut from him.
I have also had a pedicure done here before and the spa was extremely relaxing. I will like to try a massage next!

My first time here was 4 years ago. Ana, the esthetician who did my Aveda facial was fantastic. She made me feel very welcomed to Eccotique and she was very friendly and polite. I felt she showed me patience and listened to my skin concerns and fixed the problems I had from the facial she suggested each time I went there. I always come out with skin that feels supple and back to life. I’ve been seeing Ana at least once every 3 weeks for 4 years now. I would never go to anyone else and from gaining my trust from her expertise I know the products she suggest to me are beneficial to my skin, and without a doubt, she is always right! I have referred Ana as well as the aveda and dermalogica products she suggested to all my friends. I would suggest anyone to go there, and highly recommend going to Ana if you really care about your skin.

Friendly receptionists, competent massage therapists, easy access of spa from the mall and free parking is what you’ll find at this spa.
I’ve been going to Eccotique Spa approximately once a every 3 weeks during my last trimester of pregnancy. With my back and calves in pain from the extra weight, the massages has really helped me get through the home stretch of my pregnancy.
Ask for Sarah, –she’s really sweet and helped loosen a lot of knots in my back.
