Normally I wouldn’t have eaten here but I was meeting up with a friend for a snack and on a whim chose this place to try Lemongrass Chicken Potstickers. Huge mistake. Especially since they were what looked like the last six of the day, and hence no way they were fresh. But I hoped at least to have a meaty potsticker with tasty filling. FAIL on all counts. –Works out to just over $ 1 per potsticker after tax. –Mostly empty space inside the potsticker(see picture). –Very strong lemongrass flavour — and no other flavour. Not even chicken. Spend your money elsewhere, especially if it’s a Tuesday — maybe try KFC’s Tuesday special for just over $ 3(see picture). Really decently sized thigh but lamely sized drumstick. Still, a way better deal than Lameass Cheesy Potstickers from Manchu Wok.

Was impressed by the quality of service, freshness of food and competitive price of this venue. This is mall«fast food’ so it is not a 5 star dining experience for sure but for being that Manchu does a good job. The chicken was fresh, sauce flavorful and the noodles had no complaints. Would return here again.

I am being generous giving it 2 stars. I had an entertainment coupon and used it here to get some cheap dinner. I didn’t finish the plate.

Chinese food is almost like a fast food when you go to a great Chinese restaurant. So to go to a fast food equivalent should be a good tip off that the food will most times be terrible. The meat here is suspect on most days(is it even really beef or pork or chicken meat?). You might get lucky and pick something that is edible but it really is unlikely. If you must eat from here I would just stick to the fried rice or the chow main as they don’t often screw these menu items up. Remember I did say often though just try to remember that.

I regret going here tonight more than any other time I’ve been here. Normally my usual regret is not the taste of the food(mostly), but because I feel so gross afterwards. When I do go to Manchu Wok I ask for the steamed rice because their rice and noodles are pretty greasy and rather heavy. Tonight I noticed that they actually had brown rice, and despite looking like they were fried, I decided to try it. This is where my big regret comes in: the fried rice was mainly egg, and it didn’t look like it was fried enough. It also doesn’t help that I’m not a big fan of scrambled eggs either… but initially the rice didn’t look like it had much egg in it. I was able to finish the decent chicken sides, but I only picked through the rice; a shame since I quite like brown rice.

Being in Metrotown Centre and hungry can be a good thing or bad depending on where you find your eats. Today I chose a two items on rice or noodles but since I didn’t know much about the noodles, I asked to have them put a noodle on a napkin so that I could ‘see’ it. When they complied with my odd request I touched the noodle — coated in a super greasy unappetizing oil I immediately asked for rice.(I didn’t feel so odd now having asked to test its greasy-ness). Thinking veggies would be nice I asked if they had any other veggies — to which they started plopping the only veggies they had(a mixed veg dish) into my takeout container. Talk about miscommunication. Argh. So no other veggies? fine. Please give me what you put in, scraped out and then will now put back into the take out container. Impulse decision on the last item had me choose garlic chicken(looks like honey garlic). They packaged it up with a requested eggroll then I paid and found a seat. The WORST eggroll ever! It tasted like potatoes although from what I could tell — it lacked spuds — what does that mean? Over cooked rice? Hmmm I wouldn’t suggest this place to ANYONE. Sigh.
