Glen was my first point of contact in this location and he was great– attentive and provided his honest opinion on the glasses I was trying on. While Glen was working out what insurance would cover, another associate came over to me. I mentioned I had already been helped, but was informed that Glen wasn’t an optician and therefore couldn’t take my measurement. Fair, but perhaps a better approach would have been to introduce one’s self and state one was going to take the measurements while Glen was busy. I was told my glasses would take 7 business days(not everything is in an hour my friends, it depends on your prescription). I happened to be in the mall 5 days later and popped in just to see. My glasses weren’t done, but the associate assured me Monday. Finally, Wednesday rolls around and I call only to find out they aren’t sure where my glasses are. I have no idea what database mentioned Monday, but Patrick(who I talked to on Wednesday) said there was some sort of hold up. About 2 weeks after I placed the order, I received a call they were in. Despite a few bumps on the way, it was okay service and the price was right. And now I get to play librarian or hipster or career woman authentically whenever I want.

In three words — Rude, incompetent, and dishonest… Let me start by saying in the last 3 years I spent close to $ 2000 on glasses at this store. After my last purchase I’m never shopping there again… I was in the market for vision glasses for my bad eyes last December. So I figured I’d stop by LensCrafters to take a look at their selection. I was greeted by someone who was trying to help out another customer at the time. The other staff were idling, texting, and talking about wrestling and didn’t approach me or offer to help. I figured maybe they were just trying to give me some space. No biggie. So I decided on a frame and as soon as i picked up the frame and walked to the counter, I got everybody’s attention and suddenly everyone was so eager to help me to win an effortless sale. They did the typical frame sizing stuff and I requested polished edges for my lenses and a brand new frame. I also got their eyewear protection plan. 2 weeks later got a call that glasses were ready. So I went to pick them up. As soon as I saw them I noticed the glasses didn’t have the polished edges that I originally requested and payed for so I told the fellow. He took the glasses inside to have the edges polished. 10 minutes later they were ready but the edges looked like they weren’t polished too well, and the frame looked like it was the demo frame. I let it slide because I didn’t want to wait another 2 weeks for a new pair. Couple weeks go by and I discover that my health benefits card that I presented at time of purchase would have provided me a better discount than the store discount that I got at the time. Essentially I paid 15% more than I should have. So I called up the store to speak to the manager(Patrick) to explain. He was hesitant to help but asked me to come to the store to get the credit. I show up at the store the next day. Presented my health benefits card and receipt and asked to get a refund for the difference. He accused me of «double dipping» and«insurance fraud» because I requested the discount. I explained to him that I’m entitled to the discount under my benefits plan. He wouldn’t listen and insisted that I can’t get the discount and file an insurance claim at the same time. So I called my plans customer service to get them to verify. Put him on the phone with them and they explained it exactly the way I did. He hung up and got so uptight and bitter because he had to refund me the difference. As he was processing the refund he accused me again of double dipping(that’s after myself and 2 other people from my plans customer service explained to him how my benefits work). We agreed to disagree. Then he claimed I was very rude to him(when I’m the customer and I’m the one that got offended by his accusations). I apologized to him and explained to him that his accusations to a long time customer were very offensive. He refused to apologize, processed the refund, kept saying that I double dipped. That’s when I said thank you, good bye, and you’ll never get my business again. Never again Lenscrafters Southcentre. I will go out of my way to take my business elsewhere.

Rude. They screwed up my glasses and said it would take time to get used to the new prescription. I took it to anther eyeglass store and it was wrong. After coming back with that info they agreed to change it, dropped my glasses on the floor then said the scratch across the lens was my fault and I would have to clam t through the insurance I bought. I finally got it straightened out and they acted like they where doing me a favor by providing the service I paid for. never buy glasses from them again.

Having had the same pair of glasses for 10 years and with no major troubles or damage, I was not in a particular rush to get a new pair — however, a huge health spending allotment that was due to run out at years’ end was a tempting deal to look for something new. After visiting a few stores, a well-shaped Burberry caught my eye and Kat’s approval. 30% off frames? Sure! Buy it at 5 pm on a Sunday night, and it will be ready before the mall closes at 6? Umm… serious? Yeah, serious. From a decision, to purchase, to in my hands within an hour — that gets a solid recommendation in my books. The pleasant service and overall friendly atmosphere seals it: come here for your glasses.
