I don’t end up in this neck of the woods too often. But when I am in the area, I have to grab sweets from Logos. They have a decent selection of baked goods, both sweet and savory. The first time I came here, my friend told me I had to try the pineapple buns. I would never have tried those on my own and I’m glad I took my friend’s advice. The bun was fluffy, moist and just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely recommend those! I also got my favorites, like the egg tarts and the red bean sesame buns. I also like that the buns are quite large for the price. It’s hard to find baked goods that don’t cost a pretty penny, so that is a definite perk! I am dying to try the Green Onion bun, but whenever I go my sweet tooth always seems to win! I will try them soon though, and I would definitely recommend this bakery for those that want yummy Chinese baked goods for reasonable prices.

Getting birthday cakes from here has been a tradition for many years. The bf will not accept any substitutions when his turn comes around each year. You have to call ahead to order a birthday cake, and they come in lbs. We typically do a two pounder mixed fruit cake which lasts our family a good week or so. The quality of their cakes have been hit or miss these past few years. We’ve had a few from here that have been very dense and dry. There is lots of selection for their Chinese buns. Their hk style pineapple buns are the bomb! I also love that they have sugar coated deep fried donuts on a skewer(one of my many guilty pleasures). I love the satisfaction of selecting my buns and bringing them up to be packaged. I get tingles just writing about it. Finding parking to come here is a challenge though. Should you want to park, either be ready to fight for a spot or park on the street. I’ve gotta tell you though, I think it’ll be worth your while.

Located in the Asian mall at Center Street and 16th Ave NW, this bakery has a good assortment of baked and fried Chinese treats at very reasonable prices. The egg tarts are very delicate and flakey, while the chicken donut is like a great pot pie in a sealed bread bowl for $ 1.20. Not something to have everyday, but definitely a spot to grab some treats you won’t find done as well at many places in the city.
