What I like most about Revolution Games is the service and knowledgable staff. You can probably find cheaper prices elsewhere or online, but these guys really go the extra mile(or I guess kilometer) to help you out. It really sounds like the one guy has played every game they have, and can help you find what you’re looking for. And they aren’t gamer snobs either. If you are still new to the hobby or just a casual gamer, he is just as enthusiastic about the gateway games(the ones for us filthy plebs, like Catan or Carcassonne). Once you are ready to move to heavier games, he does a great job of recommending games of similar themes or mechanics to the ones you enjoy. I once asked for an out of print game, messaged them over facebook, and they contacted me 6 weeks later when it was back in the store. And to top it off, they have their loyalty program which credits you $ 10 for every $ 100 spent, just to feed my addiction.

I’ve read about this place, never took the time to stop in. Have to say; I’m super impressed. Staff knows their business, engaging and friendly. A quick check on some games I knew demonstrated that the guy wasn’t bullshitting me to make a sale. They also have a loyalty program where every $ 100 gets you $ 10 store credit. What I appreciated most was the selection and information on the different types of games for who you may be playing with. Thanks revolution, I will be back!

Revolution is a small store tucked away in an awkward to get to part of the strip mall. They have a nice selection of games, and the people who run the store are very friendly and will help you find anything you’re looking for, and if they don’t have it in stock will offer to order it for you. If you’re on a budget I noticed they also have a pre-owned games section, though I have yet to purchase anything pre-owned(i love my new game smell). I’ve found that their pricing is much better than that at Sentry Box. They are very knowledgeable about many of the games, and have open game days on Sunday where you can go in and try for free a variety of games that they have open and available. Also they have a loyalty program where you can get $ 10 off if you’ve purchased $ 100 dollars worth of games(easily reached with boardgames). I highly recommend them if you’re in the Northwest as they seem to be the only legitimate games store up in that part of the city.

The majority of Revolution focuses on games and there is minimal product related to music, therefore I was overwhelmed as a first time patron and non-gamer. I latched onto the music section until I could absorb the craziness of this place. There’s a central area in the store with used CD’s and LP’s. One section of a wall contains used DVD’s and Blu-rays. Both have limited selection but browsing is entertaining. After taking a closer look at the shelves, I could see a few games I could relate to such as Mad Gab and Rubik’s Cube. Otherwise, everything else appears to be for hard-core gaming fans, including collectibles and T-shirts. There are role playing books and puzzles too. The back of the store has tables set up for multiplayer and collectible card games. The condition of this area resembled the aftermath of many hours of gaming in someone’s basement. It is well used, kind of dirty and had a large garbage can overflowing with empty pop cans. It’s cool that you can demo a game before you buy it. This store may not be my cup of tea for the most part but if you really spend some time here, I think one can find some cool gift ideas for the right person. I’ve frequented the lot of gaming shops in the city and my biggest peeve is sarcastic attitude when wanting to expand my gaming horizons. I found revolutions to be a breathe of fresh air. The owner is always present and she offers a great service in her experience in boardgames, which is there specialty! I’ve had them open games in front of me and try them out. I love this. I’m just dropping $ 20 and she’s still invested in me. Awesome! I keep driving out here to buy from Revolution, great knowledge and good peeps. Of course, as with all gaming shops, they have their trusted mouth-breathing customers but don’t let the oddities scare you. She welcomes all, super-nerd to casual gamer. P.S: They also have a savings program which saves you %10 every time you spend a hundred. Adds up quick, so the savings is appreciated.
