Soul Connexion is Calgary Northwest only dance studio, yoga studio & fitness studio offering drop-​in classes, annual/​seasonal programs, fine arts preschool programs & workshops.

Our encouraging environment welcomes students of all ages and abilities who are looking to live a healthy life! Whether you want to try a Hatha yoga class, spice things up with Zumba or burn fat and build muscle with Tighten & Tone, we’ve got a class for you!

Our annual competitive dance runs from September-​June, ending with a year-​end show. Students will enjoy Ballet, Hip hop, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Belly Dance, etc.

Our recreational dance, yoga & fitness classes are offered in 12-​week terms, which include adult dance classes, kids dance classes and parent & child classes.

Our Mini Movers program is a fun & active preschool program for children ages 2 – 5 who will experience the fine arts through dance, yoga, fitness, art & music.

We also hosts team building events, birthday parties, moms groups & much more!

History

Established in 2009.

Soul Connexion Dance Studio opened in 2009 in Creekside Shopping Center in Northwest Calgary, Alberta. Soul Connexion was founded by Cara Poppitt who brought a new approach to wellness by offering dance, yoga and fitness classes all under one roof. This unique approach positioned Soul Connexion as Calgary’s first and only dance, yoga and fitness studio offering programs to students of all ages and abilities.

Today, Soul Connexion offers over 100 classes weekly in a variety of styles including annual dance classes, recreational dance classes, preschool dance, beginners yoga classes and preschool programs in the fine arts.

Soul Connexion has 35 certified and specialized teachers who had and will continue to serve families in Kincora, Evanstan and all Calgary Northwest communities.

Meet the Business Owner

Cara P.

Business Owner

Passion and energy led Cara to her success in the world of dancing. She has trained all over the world and is known for her Hip Hop and Latin choreography. Cara completed a combined degree from the University of Calgary in Business and Psychology with a focus in health psychology.

Cara founded Beat It Dance, which has served communities and schools in Calgary for over ten years and in 2009, opened Soul Connexion. Her passionate pursuit led her to many opportunities; from performing overseas, to television roles, to commercials, movies and concerts.

Cara was involved with SIFE for many years, sitting on the business advisory board, has conducted workshops at the University of Calgary and has spoken at several conferences.

She was previously Western Canada’s Student Entrepreneur for 2005 and a recipient of Global Television’s Woman of Vision for Arts and Culture in October 2009. Cara has been featured in publications such as U Campus, Calgary Inc., Calgary Sun and the Calgary Herald.
