Why is this store so freaking dark? And why, oh why does it smell so strongly like, like, well I can’t actually identify the smell but it makes my head hurt! I bought one of my most favourite pants EVER at an Abercrombie & Fitch probably 10 years ago. They were so amazing, I wore them all the time and I think at least 10 of my girl friends have borrowed them(talk about Traveling Pants!). So ever since, every couple of years, I have attempted to pop in and browse and I always give up and go. I can’t see a thing and that smell! I give up. I seriously feel so bad for the kids that work here; trying to stay awake must be really hard!

This store is very hard to shop at. I like to check in and really like the fabric and quality. But you have to breath shallow while you are in the premises. They literally pipe in cologne chemical and you can see the mechanism where this stench comes from just above the left fitting room near the ceiling. I really feel for the staff there and can understand why they are often blunt and impatient. Alberta occupational health and safety should really pay them a visit and check the air quality because it cannot be healthy to breath that in all day.

I’m not sure I’d call this Varsity or Preppy, that East-coast collegiate/prep school look is quite a bit more tailored and fitted than the sort of baggy, low-rise, distressed/frayed stuff they sell here. I’d call it more California casual than anything else. It’s all understandable, the store is so dark and what lighting there is, is so yellow, how can you tell what you’re buying or even what colour it really is. Regardless, I really feel that over time A&F has lost much of what made it unique. They used to have some really different and quality stuff; I had a windproof fleece that had a really great look, durability and unique style to it, but that was a dozen years ago. Recently though, A&F is really just a tightly packaged lifestyle Gap. The clothes, the T’s, the polos, cargo shorts, distressed chino and buttoned up shirts are pretty much Gap rubbed with sandpaper. I think that’s why they came up with the Moose logo, just so you could differentiate from the Gap. Speaking of which, I also can’t figure out what the difference between A&F and Hollister. Literally, stitch a moose on it, it’s A&F. Put a seagull on it and it’s Hollister. It’s too bad, because a few years ago, A&F had a real niche and was quite unique, even right after the Limited bought it. These days, is there a difference between A&F, Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle or the Gap? In the end, if that moose is important, this is where you have to go to buy it. Otherwise, you can get the«look» from Old Navy at about half the cost.

It’s not exactly my style of clothing. It’s a bit too preppy for me. Most of the clothing reminds me of stuff you would see kids wearing in the OC. Yeah I’ve watched the show, we all have at some point. I find this type of clothing to be so uncomfortable and kind of boring. The store isn’t all bad. You can find some decent things and they do carry some OK guys t-shirts that aren’t the typical prep style. I usually never go into this store and if you’re like me than you won’t want to either.

I have always had this preconceived notion that this store would be crawling with typical Abercrombie models, all buying the same t-shirt so they could be considered part of the exclusive club. It turns out, I wasn’t completely right. I wasn’t completely wrong either though! This is a pretty preppy store and, maybe it was just like this on the day I went, everyone in the store fit that mold. The preppy look isn’t really my look so I didn’t find a lot in this store that I loved, but I did find some really cute denim skirts! They were great because they were adorable, stylish, and they weren’t really overpriced. And they reminded me that spring is just around the corner! They also have some pretty cute jeans here. And, let’s be honest, $ 50 for a pair of jeans is not unreasonable in today’s world. They have some cute stuff, not all of it is my style, but I’m sure it is somebody’s!

I never go into this store, but I know that they have some really great stuff. Well, for the first time ever I decided to check this place out. I have to say I really like this store. They have a lot of great clothing styles that I could see myself wearing that is if I actually could fit into their items. I really like their selection of jeans; they have some really nice styles that form fitting and are meant to make you look great. Their jeans seem to be mostly priced at $ 49.90, which is pretty reasonable considering how great their jeans look. Now that spring and summer is coming up pretty fast the short skirts and shorts are coming out. I saw some really cute short skits and shorts at Abercrombie and Fitch, just incase you were wondering where you can find some. They currently have an end of the season sale so you can find some great looking items for a bit of a cheaper price, which is always nice. I even like their men’s section. They have some really great colors and styles that would look fantastic on any guy. It seems like their style of clothes fit into the«varsity» look, so guys who have a bit of a build would look super in these styles. I’m not saying that whippy guys, like my boyfriend, wouldn’t look good in them but that’s just who I picture wearing these clothes. Okay enough of that. The store itself is very modern and it has that exclusive members only kind of feeling. The men’s section is separated from the women’s and you need to walk into the place a little before seeing their clothes. But the store is really nice and classy looking. The staff is really nice and helpful.
