EB Games

This location confuses me immensely. I have an incredibly good experience one day, and the next time is a train wreck. I tend to pre-​order new releases I’m looking for, or look for previously used copies of older games. And for my gaming needs this location is convenient and the selection is entirely serviceable.
Staff at this location is my biggest problem. While all employees here are all INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, their customer service sometimes flirts with negligence. I’ve waited in line, 4 people ahead of me and seven other people in the store, with one person behind a single register and nobody on the floor. Only to finally get to the register, after 15 minutes, to have, not one or two, but FOUR employees come out of the back room.
I’ve also had a negative experience, with an employee flat out lying to me about a new «policy» Nintendo was instituting regarding the posting of online walk-​throughs, in an effort to convince me to buy a 35 $ strategy guide.
I still shop here most regularly for the convenience, but if given the choice, I’d frequent Southgate, City Center, or really just about any outlet besides this one.

This EB Games stands out as a bit of an anomaly for me as it is a chain that WEM does not have the superior location for. This one is simply not big enough to handle the large crowds of kids and big kids like myself that are drawn in to check out all the games. I frequently have teens squeezing past me and younger kids bumping into me when I come in to browse. I also find the selection here pales in comparison to other locations such as Southgate and oddly enough even City Center. The handheld console sections in particular are really poor in my opinion. I give 2 stars versus 1 however as I do like the staff here. As I mentioned it is a super busy location but they do do their best to get people rang in quickly and if you do catch them in a rare quiet moment they will gladly chat you up about what new games are coming out. It is slim pickings for game stores in WEM so if you are in the mall and have to pick something up right away you can give these guys a try but just don’t count on them having it.
