Another great pub on Whyte. I sadly can’t give a fair take on the prices because too often I left with zero money in the pockets but had a great night! All in all I would say it is one of the better bars on Whyte

Great dive on Whyte Ave. Cheap beer, decent food, love their fish & chips Only complaint is that this place is cash only and sometimes the music is way too loud

Lives up to the name for sure. Went there once and it took for ever to get served. It was in the middle of the afternoon too. There was only a few other people and they were all sitting at the bar. Tables were sticky and gross. Not wheelchair/reduced mobility friendly for sure because of all the stairs going up to the place. Only cool thing about that was they had grumpy cat painted on the lady’s room door.

Guinness on tap = $ 6.75. Not the worst, but not the best either. Filthy’s boasts a 40 foot wood. I think it is indeed that long. It’s not very clean though. I was not offered a coaster to put my glass upon. That may be why. It’s a nice, big space. View of Whyte Ave below. Bathrooms are kind of beat, but everything works. No happy hour, but they have daily specials. Sports on one channel and a movie on the other. I saw three different menu items being consumed. It all looked good. Salads, sliders and deep fried mac & cheese. The folks in there on a Thursday afternoon were all my age. My kids tell me it’s a different story on the weekends. I’m not going to give up my local hangouts for this pub. As much as I like their big wood.

Best wings I have ever had in my entire life(and I am a HUGE wing fan). Great live music scene as well. Was sad when Stella was pulled from the taps but whatever… love this bar and love the food.

Filthy’s is a great bar to pop into for a beer or five. First of all, let me begin by identifying the type of crowd that is at Filthy’s. The average age in Filthy’s is probably low 20’s. If you do not fit into this category, you may not have the same type of experience as I enjoy. Filthy’s is the best kind of bar. Great specials and a friendly atmosphere will bring me back all the time. The bartenders are speedy and fair in their service and the wait-staff do their best to keep up with the demand. Sometimes they reach capacity and lines begin to grow, but I think it’s worth the wait. They have pool tables, Buck Hunter, and some version of Street Fighter. If you’re on Whyte and thirsty and want a chill place to grab some drinks, pop by.

Well, it might be good for kids, I guess. The grub is seriously overpriced for what it is. The guy serving me rounded my bill up to the nearest nickel increment despite knowing that I was paying by credit card. That’s illegal and it’s not supposed to happen. Not my scene.

Filthy McNasty’s is not the most inviting establishment name to entice someone who suffers from OCD. Even still, I ventured here today on a mini solo Whyte Avenue pub crawl, and discovered that Filthy McNasty’s actually isn’t. Even the bathrooms were not bad. Although live music with no cover charge was advertised between 4 – 6 p.m., the stage was empty when I arrived around 4:15. The crowd was mostly university-aged people, so I felt a bit out of place. Drink and food prices seemed reasonable, although I did not partake of either while I was there for my brief time. I would head back to catch some live music — if I get there when someone is actually playing.

This place has more character than any other bar on Whyte. I’ve checked out every bar, pub and club on Whyte ave and Filthy’s has been my favourite since I first stopped in and stumbled out. Music has a fantastic spectrum here — You’ll get metal, punkish, one hit wonders, ridiculous dance music… and if you make a request, chances are they’ll have it, and they’ll play it. Atmosphere at night gets really alive with lots of dancing and people of every sort here. During the day, you’ve got yourself a great pub atmosphere where you can hang back without a care in the world. They ALWAYS have a movie playing on the TV, ranging from ridiculous to dorky to fantastic. I’ve seen lots of Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Wayne’s World, and other gems and cult classics. Prices and specials are some of the best I’ve found on Whyte — Their Pint Night offers their entire selection at the same, super cheap price($ 2.75 as of writing this), including things typically excluded from special lists, such as Strongbow, which my girlfriend loves. Food specials are decent, and the food is surprisingly good given the name of the bar. I’m a big fan of their signature burger, and they have food specials for all sandwiches being discounted though I can’t remember what day. Events are wide ranging, from weekly karaōke to lots of live bands for free — I’m sure there are occasionally cover charges, but I haven’t run into them yet. Karaōke gets really busy FYI! Staff are cool, never unfriendly and get to know you quick if you come back fairly often. I’ve never had any trouble with poor service or attitude and I haven’t seen any issues with anyone else in my time there. Overall, if you’re looking for a great place to party at night or relax in the day, without the attitude and prissy sort of crowds you might find at other bars, with great music selections and great drink specials, you seriously gotta check this place out.

Ridiculously cheap drinks. Best Wings and Pizza in town. The rest of the menu is pretty good too — and cheeeeeaaaaap. Also good service, totally relaxed atmosphere and I enjoy that they play good music and always play movies on the tvs(unless hockey is on)

One of the best bars I have been to on Whyte. Punk rock scene, casual, and always packed. The line moves fast which is a nice bonus, the music is loud, the atmosphere is awesome. Great specials, sometimes live music, its a really awesome stop if your into the rock scene and want a bar to reflect that.

Well the location is good, and some of the staff is presentable but overall kind of a dirty place, or shall I say Filthy? You can tell this by the EMO crew that hangs out its front doors always smoking. Once in though if you can find a comfortable spot this place is ok. I have been in many a times and my attire seems to attract unneccasry attention as the punks need to prove there worth? But like I said if your popping in its fun, but not an all night hang out. Theres much cleaner places to visit.

Oh Filthy’s, your pint night Wednesdays shall surely be the death of me! Who can resist $ 2.75 pints of beer? Obviously not this girl according to my previous hangover… By far one of my favorite bars in the city, I always have a good time here. They seriously play the best music, at least in my opinion anyways. I am quite sad that punk rock bingo seems to have vanished and that the bathrooms keep getting filthier,(Maybe that’s how they got their name? Hmm), but the staff are great and so are the regulars that haunt this dingy hole. They have AMAZING shows here! Sometimes if you are lucky enough to catch them they can be free if you show up on the right night. It can get busy but that is not a big deal as the line goes fast, or get there early enough and avoid the awkwardness of not having a table to sit at. The food is quite tasty as well and the menu has a pretty decent selection as are the beers on tap. I love people watching here as it gets quite the assortment of hipsters, posers, metalheads and all the in between. Check this place out if you think you can handle it.

Filthy’s is one of my favourite places to go for a drink on Whyte, any night of the week. They always have wicked drink specials, and their food is above average for bar food. Wednesdays that have domestic for $ 2.75 and import for $ 3.25 — whoa. They have a metal night, karaōke nights, live bands(sometimes free shows!) and bingo. I enjoy the music they play here much more than the standard top 40, radio generic crap almost everywhere else. Generally, punk, metal, indie, rock n roll, etc. Sometimes there’s a DJ, sometimes the aforementioned karaōke. There are a bunch of TVs all around, with half of them playing sports and the other half playing cool/weird movies. There are a couple of pool tables and arcade games(Big Buck Hunter? That golf one? i’ve never played) Filthy’s is pretty big, but it does get extremely busy. If you go between 8−9pm(on the weekend) you should be fine. Otherwise prepare to wait in line. Waitresses and bartenders are also generally pretty cool and nice. AND they have one of my favourite shots here, the whiskey pickle!

This is still one of my favorite bars on Whyte. Always good service, passable food, and a friendly(usually punk rock) crowd. The highlight is Wednesday night and you’ll have to get there before 10pm if you want to avoid a line. If you do find yourself stuck at the back, sit tight. The $ 2.75 domestic/$ 3.25 import pints & $ 5 steak sandwiches are the best deals you can find in the city.

I can’t believe I’ve lived in Edmonton for almost eight years and never been to Filthy’s. Not that it’s outstanding really, but if you’re looking for some variety in your watering holes this dark, lacklustre booze can is worth a stop when you tire of Black Dog, O’Byrne’s and Hudson’s party central on Whyte. During the Fringe Festival, the bar turns into one of over a dozen live theatre venues, so you can swill and twist your high brow at the same time, under the squinty light of gaudy Dynasty chandeliers while eating Porn Dogs and Filthy Hoes washed down with Trad and cheese cake swamped by Jäger chocolate sauce. Prices are reasonable, service is fast. You can come for Metal Mondays, Karaōke Tuesdays, Beerfest Fridays or any day between 3 and 8 p.m. for a Happy five Hours of food and drink specials. The oh-so-goey pizza fingers smothered in cheese go great with beer and, as always, I surrender to any local dive bar with Wi-Fi so I can sip a cold one while doing a tapping meditation on my laptop. Om, Budweiser, Om.

Filthy McNasty’s. What about that name sounds appealing? Not much I guess, but the name definitely doesn’t do this place justice. I have had many fun times at this pub on Whyte. I began to notice that the crowd here was often of the punk rocker group, and this place could sure get rowdy. There are some seats by the window and you can sit here and gaze out at all the people wandering the streets of a summer night on Whyte. The beer is well priced, the staff are fun and the music is loud. What else can you ask for in a dirty pub?

Filthy McNasty doesn’t sound like the greatest place but this is actually a very popular spot on Whyte Ave. Not exactly my first choice. Everything in this place reminds me of a British pub. a pub with a dance floor. It is a pretty popular place during hockey games, many people gather here and get rowdy together. or sad if we lose. They usually have good drink specials. If you want to get in you might want to go early as the line gets pretty big.

This is a very popular stop on the Whyte Ave strip. The first time I went to this pub I went to see a Fringe play. The décor is very reminiscent of a British pub(in fact it’s named after a pub in London). There is a dance floor as well as plenty of TVs. It’s a hot spot during the hockey season. They also host Halloween and New Years’ parties. There are different drink specials each night. It’s a great spot to meet up with friends. Not a bad place to settle in for the evening or as one stop of many. It’s got a great, laid-back atmosphere and very popular with the university crowd.
