Free WI-FI, comfortable chairs, great coffee and friendly service — what more can one ask for? I like the patio in the summer too…

I love 2Cup. They have better prices, and better tasting drinks than Starbucks– with more consistency, and typically less sweet. They even do a better PSL than the famed Starbucks version! This location though… there is something off about it. Staff are frequently teenagers who need to finish gossiping before they assist you. And when it is your turn, they give you about half the attention you require. This typically leads to drinks being made incorrectly, or getting an entirely different drink than you ordered. There’s also the bizarre quirk of the entire back section being constantly reserved. The only people allowed to sit there are friends of the owner, as far as I can tell. It’s not often a problem, until fall/winter when the owners are using another large chunk of the seating areas to sell off surplus syrups, gift baskets, and coffee for«super great discounts», which seems like a bizarre move for a Second Cup franchise. Second Cup is awesome but do yourself a favour and visit either the Terra Losa, WEM, or Meadowlark locations instead. Their nearby and offer way better service, reliability, and quality.

This is my favourite Second Cup in the city. There is so much seating, the baristas are friendly and chatty, ample parking and near my favourite library. In the summer their patio is MASSIVE and it’s just a few minutes from home. While I always prefer Second Cup to Starbucks(Candy Cane lattes beat Pumpkin Spice any day of the week NOTEVENSORRY), I prefer this Second Cup out of all of the locations in town. Also Starbucks take note, you can get almond milk here. So much better than soy, it just makes everything better.

I have been to this location countless times, and I have never had a good experience — not to say that they were all poor, but in comparison to the several other locations I have had outstanding experiences with staff. My spouse has already written a review however I would like to touch on the ignorance of the staff here. I cannot say how many times I have met with my girlfriends for coffee and they have said«we can only stay for an hour, because the staff don’t like having students here». & while I was not studying, and we always bought 1 – 2 large drinks each, still we never felt welcome at this location. Next complaint is that there is ALWAYS unused reserved seating. No one is ever sitting in them, which is strange, but I’m assuming they do that so they do not have to clean too many tables. Now for my major issue: I met my fiancé here two years ago, it was a good meet up spot in the middle of our commute. Service has NEVER been exceptional, but nothing worth complaining about until 2 days ago when he surprised me and proposed to me there. He told me he had to convince the staff to allow him to use some of their tables(there were about 8 patrons in the shop). He offered to pay them, and finally he said he convinced them. He is a singer so he wanted to sing a song — which was tasteful(All of me — John Legend) however they said no they did not allow live music even though it was only one song. They were nice enough to allow him after he pretty much begged them. The proposal went beautiful, until however halfway through his song, THEYTURNEDUPTHEMUSIC! I was absolutely floored by the sheer ignorance and rudeness. I cannot think of anything more inconsiderate. This is all on video of course as it was a very special moment for my friends that were there, and us too. Our video has been shared with family and friends across the country as they couldn’t physically be there for the event, and we are mortified by the staff at calling-wood second cup’s manners(or lack thereof). Our many family and friends have seen this in our video and it is pretty embarrassing. I am embarrassed for the staff, this video will be shown at our wedding, engagement party, and for many years to come. I hope they are happy with themselves lol. While I understand this is not a «proposal shop» to me, my family, friends, peers, we agree that the manners and the way the staff here presented themselves does not speak to being considerate, welcoming or kind. This location was special, however we will all be taking our business elsewhere. I do not think we will receive an apology — or a congratulations!(the staff did not say a word to us). Every patron took a moment to come by and thank us, they seemed to have enjoyed it. Luckily after the very kind woman that turned up the music had done so, we contacted our family to meet us at a different location to celebrate — I am so happy they didn’t show up there we would have been mortified!!!

I frequent Second Cup on a daily basis and this location is by far the worst in the city, along with its sister location on Whitemud and Calgary Trail. The hours posted on their website are incorrect as I found out when I arrived at 9:30 one night. The open sign was still on and there were people still inside drinking and visiting. I was told they were closed and was refused service. Service is slow and staff are not all that friendly. I am always charged more for my drink at this location than others. BIGDISSAPOINTMENT!

I’ve frequented this location of Second Cup now for almost 3 years as they have two pages of coupons in the SUTP coupon book — Buy 1 G 1 frees and $ 1 off, etc. Although this location does not have a drive thru — they are always fast and efficient! My orders have always been correct at this location and the location is kept immaculate. The staff are friendly and the location is less than 5 minutes South of West Edmonton Mall. Normally — I’d give Second Cup about 3 stars — however, with the annual coupons at this location in my SUTP book — they keep me coming back!

This location is NOT handicap friendly! I went into this location on crutches & with an aircast on. I needed the staff to take my tea to my table. I needed to elevate my ankle. The staff member told me I had to keep my feet down on the floor! I said I needed to elevate my ankle. She I could take my tea to go. I informed her I could not walk & carry it & they would just have to refund me! She said I can drink it, then go as their policy did not allow feet on chairs. It was a horribly humiliating experience! After walking /hobbling there ONCRUTCHES(I live ½ a block away), I needed to elevate to take the swelling down! I had surgery a month earlier to repair a broken ankle. I was handicapped & treated badly by a staff member. I must add that most businesses were kind, considerate & cooperative with my mobility & special needs, during my recovery, EXCEPT Callingwood Second Cup. Although they did carry my tea to a table before the fuss over my elevated aircast encased ankle. I must add there was no snow & rain & the cast only lightly touched the ground!

I don’t usually like to hang out at Second Cups or Starbucks, but if all Second Cups were like this one, I would! This is, by far, the nicest Second Cup I have ever been too. They have immaculate art on the walls, a little water fountain in the back(not the drinking kind, the decorative kind) and so much room! This place is big. I was pretty surprised because it doesn’t look very big from the outside. The lady who helped me was one of the owners(or at least I’m assuming she was because there was a picture of her and her husband on the wall at the back of the store) and she was great. She took my order even before I was up at the till. Someone else was paying and she took my order and started making it while that person paid so that my wait time was less. It was great. Love this Second Cup. If you haven’t been, you should go!
