History
Established in 2010.
The first Melting Pot opened in April 1975 in Maitland, Fla. by the Johnston brothers. It was a cozy, quaint location and its first menu consisted of just three items: Swiss cheese fondue, beef fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert.
In 1980, the brothers decided to branch out and opened their second location in Tampa. As their business grew, the brothers began to consider franchising even more stores in order to expand. In 1985 they purchased all rights to the brand and established The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc. — the new franchise company
The first Canadian location opened in March, 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta. The Melting Pot Restaurants will also be developed in Calgary and in Vancouver
At The Melting Pot, fondue truly becomes a memorable dining experience where patrons can dip into something different — and discover all the ingredients for a unique dining experience including a relaxed atmosphere, private tables, attentive service, fine wines and signature fondue dinners.
