Ok I have higher standards for good cheap Vietnamese food coming from Vancouver where we have some really good selection. This is one of the better places I have tried in Alberta and with some minor changes could be really good. Their lemon grass chicken and pork have good flavour but with a lack of herbs and skimpy peanuts and no lime you miss a lot of the experience. The spring rolls were ok but missing on flavour to be called good. Overall it was one of the better Vietnamese experiences in Alberta but just slightly misses the mark.

Don’t let the name fool you, this place is definitely not an Italian joint. They have some of the best Vietnamese food I have tried in Edmonton and they have a huge selection of vegan options (2 pages!). I am a big fan of the chili basil tofu, curry tofu, and salad rolls (with a cashew sauce). The food always tastes amazingly fresh, the tofu is cooked to perfection and the vegetables are cooked really nicely too. The price may seem a little high for a veggie dish but rest assured the portions are huge and come with rice. It’s a little out of the way but luckily skipthedishes delivers their food :) ! There is plenty of seating if you want to eat-in and I doubt you will ever have trouble finding a table as they have a very large dining room. The ambiance isn’t great but that’s kind of typical for this type of cuisine.

Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. Very friendly staff. Restaurant is clean and open. Large menu. Had the Peanut Coconut Chicken Curry and can’t wait to eat my leftovers. I’ll definitely be back!

Tried take out on a whim. Am I ever glad I did — found a new go-to take out spot!
Lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl — tons of wok-sautéed veggies, big pieces of real chicken (no mystery meat here folks), had mine spicy and it was just the right amount of heat. Fresh and delicious, and enough for lunch tomorrow too.
Green onion cakes and spring rolls great apps too, lots of flavour and not overly greasy at all.

I’ve been coming here for quite a while now. They recently moved locations from Bonnie Doon to Calgary trail due to the south LRT line they are building. I still make the long drive to their new location though! The server always remembers me and my order and he’s always very friendly and attentive. I order pick up as well and it’s always prepared very carefully and done well! They are a family business and I’m glad to be a frequent customer of theirs. Always had a great experience and the food is always very good! It’s never hastily thrown onto a plate or in a bowl, they make sure it’s prepared well :) will always return!

I don’t know how long they’ve been in their new location, but I just discovered them. They have really positive reviews from their old location by Bonnie Doon. Great phở and Vietnamese dishes right in my neighbourhood. Thank you!
I’ve ordered take out twice recently. The first time I ordered phở ga (chicken noodle soup) and it was seriously delicious. I couldn’t stop eating it. The other time I ordered the grilled beef with coconut rice and fried eggs. It was simple and tasty. I’m also a fan of their green onion cakes.
Although I haven’t dined in, the service I had when I picked up my food was very friendly.
This is definitely now on the top of my take out list.

Friend and I were looking for a close by spot to grab a bite to eat for dinner. We chose to come here and I ordered #17, the phở with rare beef slices. It came in a small portion compared to regular phở places but the broth was the same standard as other places. My friend had ordered the #33 lemongrass pork chop with rice. He gave me a bite of it and it was really good, the reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because he found a hair in his rice. A bit unappealing so he told our server. They took it back to the kitchen but he already started losing his appetite by then. Over all the food was good except for the hair in the rice.

Tried this place on a whim, so glad I did! My partner, who is a bit of a curry snob, pronounced the chicken curry the best he has ever had. I liked the vermicelli I ordered just fine as well.

Finally an amazing Vietnamese restaurant on the south side. I have tried many different items on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed! This little gem of a place is a must try. They not only do great Vietnamese they do excellent Thai food. I always leave this place wanting more and I get more because they have amazing portions. I am beyond a fan and give it 5 in terms of service, quality, and consistency. Actually I had it for lunch and I’m debating on going back for dinner!
