First time here and boy what a delicious surprise!!! The service was wonderful happy and fast. The food came out warm and yummy, we all had to pick off each others plates. The décor was pleasant inviting. The prices were fair for the serving size and the delicious food. I will be recommending this amazing Vietnamese restaurant to everyone I meet. I have a feeling I will have a new craving at least once a week:-)

Fantastic phở. I’ve been looking for a phở joint in my new hood on the south side and so far Lemongrass Café is the winner. I like the big open space of the restaurant. It’s fluid and comfortable. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was buzzing just enough to make you feel at ease that if this many people like it it’s going to be good, but not so busy that it affected the service or chilled out atmosphere. The phở was deeeeeeeeelightful. Hot, yummy, fresh. Wonderful, great quality meat. All the usual suspects for condiments and nice bit bunch of sprouts, basil and limes. Combine delicious food with good prices and a great interior and location and you’ve got a good little restaurant.

Great food, fair prices and good service. The perfect recipe for 5 stars in my book. A very enjoyable meal overall. I’ll be back for sure.

Good quality vietnamese food: how could you go wrong? This place was great: not too busy not too slow with lots of space for patrons to sit eat and relax. The outside lighting was good and staff refilled water glasses frequently. I had a spicy phở variety and it was good. My dinner companion had the pad thai and that was good as well! Portion sizes were good, the restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were clean too. Definitely a great dinner option for the area. I liked the fact that there wasn’t any cilantro in my food(I did request no cilantro).

Best phở or vermicelli I’ve ever had in the city. I only ever go to Lemongrass café when I’m feeling like vietnamese. Excellent service every single time. The owner is always there and he personally serves most of the tables most of the time. Great quality food at a very affordable price. My favourite is the medium-rare beef soup but my boyfriend always orders the #32, beef & chicken vermicelli. We once went to maki-maki and ordered the same type of dishes, but were disappointed. The green onion cakes were small and came with NO sauce, I couldn’t believe it. At Lemongrass, they give you this delicious sweet thai chilli sauce with a good portion — I swear, I could eat them solely as my meal. There is a reason that family-owned restaurants are always a better choice. You can tell that the people that work there take pride in themselves and the restaurant as I’ve never had even close to a bad experience.

If you want consistantly good Thai food, stop in here! Stopped in about 6pm on a Friday night and while busy, we were sat right away. The décor isn’t fantastic, but the food more than makes up for it. Salad rolls with fresh Thai basil, tasty spring rolls and the best green onion cakes are all highlight staples of the appetizer list. Phở, vermicelli, rice dishes and my personal fave, lemongrass chicken chow mein, will fill you up! But save room for dessert! It’s always, hot, fresh and fast! The prices aren’t ridiculous, and we love it there. I’ll be back. Often if I can pull it off!

Ive only eaten here a few times and have only tried suggestion 1 and their spring rolls. Suggestion 1 comes with wonton soup which was delicious and rice with grilled chicken and a sauce. The chicken didnt taste bad and it didnt taste amazing but it was still good and the rice was ok as well. The spring rolls tasted good too and the prices were reasonable to the portions of food served. The service is always great as ive been here when there were only two tables being served and the busy lunch hours. You get to choose the table you sit in when theres few customers. Also the place looks very clean. Another plus for having free wifi with #telus and shaw. I will deffinitely come back and try out more of their items.

When I went to this café it wasn’t too busy, we were quickly seated and served our appetizers. The onion cake was perfect, and they served a generous portion of it. I had the medium-rare beef noodle which only costs nine dollars and it was so tasty! The soup was perfect and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I was all set for lunch the next day too! The staff is super friendly and will always make sure that your water glasses are filled.(I hate it when you’re at a restaurant and you run out of water but have to wait for forever to get it refilled. :p) I definitely recommend this café!

One of the best unknown Vietnamese restaurants around. This little hidden gem of Edmonton, provides a unique, quiet experience when dining. the food is well worth the cost as the portions are huge. Their menu is a little hard to read but otherwise well laid out. I found customizing the menu to be great. The staff are friendly and prompt in making your stay pleasant. I find that getting take out from them is efficient and fast. Highly Recommended.

We stopped going for awhile to Lemongrass but tried it again this week and were really happy we did. The green onion cakes were the best we’ve EVER had in Edmonton. Light, crisp and delicious! The crazy tangerine beef was tender and delicious and the service was just right — attentive but never in the way. We also enjoyed their salad rolls for a lighter, less fried treat.

So so yummy! I had a craving for«Asian cuisine»(thinking about ginger beef and chicken fried rice). My friend suggested this place, she said it would satisfy my craving but it was a healthier option. And boy was she right! The vermicelli bowl and salad rolls were top notch. I left so full and it satisfied my craving without feeling guilty.

Best phở in ETown and service. I’ve tried so many phở restaurants(others are packed with msg) in Edmonton and when I discovered Lemongrass in Aug 2013 I’ve been hooked. My boyfriend I eat here 3 times a week or more. I highly recommend the curry chicken soup 22b

Was in a rush to the airport and wanted some quick phở before I left. I hit it up on a Saturday afternoon, not too busy, and the service was great. Super quick and very friendly. If you are in the south side I would recommend this place. Food was very fresh and the place was quite clean. You can tell its family run and they care. Didn’t have time to try anything else, but as far as Phở goes it’s up there in the top 5 in town.

Went to the Lemongrass for the first time and it looked promising when we stepped in through the door. The restaurant seemed busy and it was self seating with menus on the table ready to go. We sat down and was greeted by 2 friendly waitresses. From what we can see through the kitchen window was at least 5 people working in the back. We ordered the Spicy Hot & Sour Soup, The Salad Rolls and the Spicy Beef Satay Noodle Soup. The food took a little longer than most Vietnamese restaurants, but my girlfriend and I thought probably because everything is made fresh and in the restaurant as opposed to the typical Vietnamese restaurants. We were getting excited with anticipation to try the food. The Salad rolls came; the vermicelli in the the rolls were warm, so therefore made fresh and not premade at the start of the day like most places. It was ok, nothing extraordinary, but it’s usually pretty hard to screw up salad rolls. 6 out of 10 Then came big bowl of Spicy Sweet and Sour soup. BIGBOWL. Flavor lacked a little. Wasn’t quite spicy or sour enough. Rather sweet. 4 out of 10 The Satay Beef Noodles… big disappointment. Absolutely no flavor, the broth was extremely bland. I’m not sure if it’s because there wasn’t enough Satay on it, but it was terrible. I was sadly disappointed. If you could imagine peanut satay sauce in hot water, that’s EXACTLY what it tasted like. 1 out of 10 I am sad to say the food did not meet our expectations at all. It would have been better to go to your typical Vietnamese places in Chinatown Edmonton and you’d probably at least be satisfied. The only good thing about this restaurant is the service from the waitresses. They were warm, friendly, and was the highlight of this experience. It’s too bad that the food couldn’t keep up with the service.

I went to this place on a recommendation. And I highly recommend you go too. It is a very casual place with deliciously tasty food. The menu is about 10 pages long and most of the menu is shareable sized which is typical of Asian restaurants. I recommend trying a sizzling plate at least once, but be warned, it does come out sizzling on a cast iron tray. Don’t be surprised if you’re not careful and burn yourself. Huge selection of phở. Start with the salad rolls and spring rolls, they’re divine. Have a Vietnamese iced tea while you are there. Great for post dinner.

When I suggested to try the Lemongrass Café, my friend asked me if they serve«phở» there? The name of the restaurant is not a «Vietnamese» name, even though lemongrass is used a lot in there foods. We walked into a field of plants which to my surprise are real! I don’t know how to feel when we are the only two minority here… This is Fusion Vietnamese restaurant with romantic wood instrumental music playing in the background. «For a non-authentic style Vietnamese fast food, this is compatible with the McDonald quarter pounder and the chicken nuggets on the side!» said my friend. The spring rolls and grilled meats in my vermicelli bowl was extremely greasy. They use the fatty parts of the pig to make the spring rolls. Blah! The broth for the phở taste like instant noodle soup. The only thing that was authentic was the tea leaves in our tea, but because we aren’t in a «Vietnamese» restaurant, we were charged $ 3.00 for tea! Otherwise, the servers are very nice. It’s counter service, so be ready to get up and pay for your bill after you eat.

Came back here with a friend last Saturday. The restaurant had a few people in it, but there were plenty of seats left. We got an order of salad rolls, of course. These are still my favourite salad rolls in the city, mainly for two reasons. 1 — they include Thai basil. I’ve had salad rolls at other places that leave this out, and they’re never as good. 2 — they have the delicious peanut sauce for dipping. Using Thai chili sauce just isn’t the same. I got a bowl of coconut lemongrass seafood noodle soup. It was so good, hot(temperature wise), spicy(spicewise), savoury and super filling. Everything I’ve ever had here I’ve enjoyed. If you’re a vegetarian they have several vegetarian dishes too. The service is quick, and the price is great for the portions of food you get. Still one of my favourite go-to restaurants in the city.

I had never heard of this little Vietnamese restaurant but friends from work took me here for lunch. It’s going to sound silly, but I’m always scared and shy about ordering off of menus with food I’m not as familiar with. I just never know what to expect. But my friends had been here often and made suggestions and ordered for me. I ended up going with 22b. It was a soup with curry and chicken. When it came out I could not believe just how huuuuge it was! I am not sure how one person is supposed to actually finish one of these bowls of soup. It was the most delicious soup I had ever eaten. The curry was delicious and added the perfect amount of kick. The noodles were amazing and the chicken nice and tender. It was so tasty, but sadly my chopstick skills with soup are incredibly limited. I wanted to eat as much and as quickly as possible because of how good it was, but found that to be a difficult and messy process. My suggestion: definitely make your way to this restaurant but be sure to go with friends and family who love you, no matter how much food gets on your face and lap. Om nom nom!!! –Ashley Marie
