Though we haven’t had a problem with KoD in the past, this time was a deal breaker. It took almost two hours from ordering for our food to get to us, and it was missing a third of the order. What we did receive was cold, so it’s not like it was a kitchen issue. Maybe don’t staff your entire shop with teenagers on one night? Or look for some accountability in your new hires.

Have been waiting 3.5 hrs for pizza, have called 4 times and every time they say it’s on its way. We live 2 km away, so there’s really no reason for this.

I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers are simply DELICIOUS and the honey garlic sauce is also amazing. The fries were definitely frozen but the sauce to dip made up for it. Delivery was fast, too.

Ok. I suggest never actually eating food from there. I was getting take out next door and went over to KOD to get a bottle of pop for my boyfriend. The guy at the counter making a pizza obviously had a cold. And didn’t seem to be concerned that he was coughing all it. Disgusting!

This is the first time I’ve ever had a donair. What is a donair, you ask? Well, if there is a wrong way to make a donair, «King of Donair»(KoD) isn’t making them wrong! Basically, it’s a lot like a gyro(yee-ro for you non-gyro-eaters)…only quite a bit larger and a bit spicier. My wife and I were hungry, so we ordered a large pizza and a donair to take back to our room. The pizza was excellent — a little on the«Chicago-Style» side, but not too thick like Chicago-style. It was somewhere in-between Chicago and New York style(I happen to like VERY thin crust, New York style myself). Anyway — mushroom, ham and black olive. YUM. Three pieces and I was stuffed… but not before I tried the donair. I love these things. Now I have to say that separately, the ingredients aren’t particularly remarkable: the pita-like bread is a little too sweet and the meat is a little to strong if either is eaten without the other. But take a bite — with both the bread and the meat together, and the two flavors compliment each other and it’s a Fourth-Of-July fireworks extravaganza on your tastebuds. Okay, so I was hooked. Between eating poutine at a poutinerie down the street(more about that later) and ordering donairs from KoD, I was determined to leave Halifax with elevated cholesterol levels and a great start for bypass surgery. However, just before my bypass, I’d order up a donair from KoD and a huge plate of poutine! King of Donair — great food, excellent service, absolutely GREAT prices. So… when do I get to go back? :)
