Amazing burgers, great staff, great vibe and the best part is that the food taste so good. Get the poutine as your side add on. The gravy is the best one I ever tried. The create your own burger is a great option if you dont like the pre-​made ones. Saw this place on you Gotta Eat Here. I can see why its always packed full of people. After having such a bad experience at Greco’s (which is up the street from this place, read my other review) we ended up going to Harper’s and the waiter was amazing. Their burgers (including chicken) were so delicious and flavourful. This place has such a relaxed vibe and changed our perception of Kingston.

If you’re looking for a great burger joint in town and some adult milkshakes.
They let you customize your burger to your desire.

Harper’s has a piece of my heart, honestly. This will be my third time updating this review, but I assure you I’m a frequent visitor at Harper’s and always bring my friends!
Last time I updated this I wasn’t as adventurous with the menu options. I’ve explored quite a bit since then.
Okay so it’s easier for me to just list all the good menu options I’ve had the pleasure of indulging in!
— Deep fried pickles! ¹⁰⁄₁₀
— Fries, especially SPICY WAFFLE FRIES!
— Gravy is bomb!
— Amazing poutine, try the «some pig!»
— Salads are tasty!
— I’ve tried and loved all these burgers;
#1, #2 (FAV!), #6, #9, and obv. #11!
— If you’re new or want a good way of trying new burgers, get the sliders!
I think that sums up everything me and my friends have loved. There have been burgers we haven’t liked, but that’s on us! Our own personal palette might not be the same as yours so I choose not to list them. Overall, Harper’s is awesome! I highly recommend it to anyone. You Mom, your Dad, your Grandparents. Good atmosphere, great service, and terrific food!

Great food. Pricy but good. Tight seating and a loud atmosphere as located in downtown and is quite a tiny establishment. Very difficult to find seating because of the business of the restaurant which must mean people like it. I don’t have any complaints with the food. This place offers amazing burgers and fries. Absolutely amazing. The faults come with the prices and the environment. Set up to be very modern, the seating is hard, uncomfortable and you are crammed in to fit as many tables as possible. The atmosphere can almost be intrusive if you like to maintain a conversation when you eat, but the food makes up for it. I simply judge when to eat here. If I want to catch up with a friend and chat, I don’t come here. I come here if I want a really good burger and don’t mind paying French cuisine prices. Everything is good in moderation right?

Best burgers I’ve ever had. Must get the white truffle aioli with the pretzel bun, which makes me drool just thinking about it.

The Umami burger all the way!!! One of the most delicious things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Quality local ingredients and good beer too. YOU MUST TRY THE SHAKES!
Staff is cool, friendly, and attentive. For the quality of the ingredients and the excellent skills of the chef’s…the price is shockingly low.

Food was decent other then the terrible chickpea burger for vegetarians, seriously gross. I wiped it several times to remove the excess grease. There was a positive review on Unilocal for the chickpea burgers which I find very confusing. It was the greasiest thing I have eaten in 2015. The ingredients were fresh and staff were friendly. I find it difficult to justify spending 20.00 on a burger and fries. Definitely popular with the hipster crowd.

Super friendly & efficient service. Burger was moist, meaty, crispy on the outside — bun had perfect combo of «fluffy» and «squishy». Warm & friendly vibes at this place. Really enjoyed my meal.

My post is slightly outdated but I have lots to say about Harper’s burger.
1. You can customize your burger to your desire. I got carried away and bit off more than i could chew.
2. Quality of ingredients and meats were fresh.
3. Reasonably priced
4. Friendly staff

If you’re looking for a good burger joint in town, this one is the place to go to. During the spring/​summer, they even have a nice, small outdoor seating area too. The «#8 Delicious» burger lives up to its name.
One of the biggest things I worry about when I eat a burger is if it’s too oily and this one wasn’t! I was very impressed considering there was both cheese AND avocado in there. If you’re hungry enough, definitely upgrade their sides because their poutine was equally delicious.

Burgers are amazing, and the spicy waffle fries are just as good! If you’re looking for an alternative to a burger, the ‘KFC’ (Korean bbq wings) are pretty good. Decent selection of beers, though out of a couple. Our server was new, but she tried her best. Will be back!

Love this place! Tried it out for the first time years ago when I was in town for business. Went back and still think it’s awesome. The waffle fries are great. Really good selection of toppings and sauces. The prices seemed reasonable to me for a burger + fries at a sit down restaurant.
The service was excellent.

I don’t really get it…
The burgers were pretty good, and yes, it is probably the best (only?) real burger joint in Kingston, but the price is just unnecessary, even for the quality. There is better for less out there, though admittedly not in the city.
Overall, would look to other restaurants when hungry in Kingston; I might return if I am craving a proper burger ASAP.

We liked our food so much we stopped here again on the way back from our trip. The onion rings are very good. The fries with gravy was very good and of course the burger was awesome. Had the #9 The Boss

It took just under 20 minutes for the best burger I have ever had in my life. It was incredibly juicy, and everything about it was perfect.
They ran out of veggie burgers for my Vegan sister, but fortunately they had chickpea burgers, and apparently they are amazing. i would recommend it to anyone that wants friendly employees with great food!

This place is awesome for burger if your in the in downtown Kingston area. This was a surprise find for me since when I was in town over the weekend. I didn’t know what I wanted to eat since there was a lot of choice but also the weather was really shitty that day so wasn’t planning on walking around everywhere to find a place to eat.
By using my trusty Unilocal app on my phone I found this place. And man was it a good find and choice for myself. I got myself ’ The BOSS’ burger. You get to choose your patty. And there is quite alot of choice too. I decided to go with the 8. oz patty. and the side of fries.
The condiments that were in The BOSS was mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes, arugula, white truffle aioli. The first bite out of the Boss burger was incredible!!! The patty was juicy with alot of flavor. All the ingredients that they put into the burger made the burger taste even better as well. The burger was very fresh, and I can tell they put the time and effort to make he burger taste really yummy. The fries were very good too because the look of the fries that they give the assumption you tend to have is it always soggy and soft, but not the case! The fries were hot and crispy!
Definitely one the best burgers bars I have tried in awhile. Yes, there a plenty of them in Toronto too and tbh a bit too many of them. Toronto burger places are also very good as well but if your out of the city and planning on stopping by in Kingston, definitely stop by this place and try their burgers. Hands down best burgers in Kingston. Amazing and very delicious. I wish they weren’t so far then I would be going to guys every other week =)
The customer service was good, it was lunch time when I went so it was busy and plus it was a Saturday but never the less, the servers were very nice and food was very delicious.

We saw this place featured on «You gotta eat here» so we went.
The onion rings were good.
Everything else was terrible.
The veggie dog, which I had was like two tubes of soft, «silken» tofu, in a semi firm skin. I was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten.
The service was unbelievably slow, and after our meals two of our group of four threw up in the bathroom.
I’d never go here again, even for free.

Downtown Kingston is a great spot… I saw Harpers Burger Bar and thought it looked like a good place when I was down this summer but did not try it out. YET mainly because I liked The Works and Burger Revolutions but after reading some reviews I went my next time back in Kingston.
It was definitely on par with my favorites but I cannot say it stood out. I enjoyed Sugar Cane Soda and the Pretzel bun and a damm good Burger.

Die Besten Burger die ich je gegessen habe. Aufgrund der vielen Variationsmöglichkeiten muss man sich für die Burgerwahl etwas Zeit nehmen. Für Fragen steht die hilfsbereite und sehr freundliche Bedienung jeder Zeit bereit.
Zuerst muss man sich entscheiden, welches Fleisch (Rind, Lamm, Huhn, Lachs) man bevorzugt, dann folgt die Wahl der Pommes (Waffelfries oder klassisch) und welches Brötchen es sein soll (klassisch, Lauge, Vollkorn usw.)
Jetzt geht es zu den Variationsmöglichkeiten. Geboten werden die verschiedensten Soßen, Käsesorten, Zwiebelvariaten, Speck usw. Es klingt nicht nur super lecker, genauso schmeckte es auch. Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist gut. Verschiedene kanadische und us-​amerikanische Biere und Weine sowie Softdrink werden angeboten.
