Nando’s

We swung into Nando’s running errands today in Langford. Both of us had the chicken sandwich and we each ordered a side. I had the macho peas (mostly because of the name) and my husband had the rice. The peas were buttery and flavourful. The rice was almost like dirty rice — spicy and flavourful, especially with the addition of the peri-​peri hot sauce that comes with it.
The chicken sandwiches were great — the bread was soft enough not to tear up the roof of your mouth, but stable enough to hold the sandwich together. It was a little heavy on mayo, and I might ask for them to hold off in the future. We had the medium spicy, and I am a bit of a wimp with spice, and found it easy to eat. I might even try hot next time.
The service was fast and friendly. We will take advantage of the location in the future when we are exhausted from Costo on the way home.

I ordered the wings. They are not conventional wings. You get the whole wing from the wing tips attached to the drum stick. On the first go they were not cooked thoroughly. Sent them back but still some pink on the second try. I was put off. No offer for a refund. My dining guests thought their chicken pitas were okay.
