Because it was a nice day outside I decided to have a Lonsdale adventure day finally after 3 months of talking about it. This was one of my stops. OMG the lady working here is so cute that I want to take her home. Super sweet and friendly. This small shop has lots of selection especially in the cookie department. Very reasonably priced.

I love this bakery. They make great cakes and can customize them for the occasion if you wish. We wanted a heart shaped layer cake with strawberries inside for my girlfriend’s birthday and they did it perfectly. Not to mention when we needed to find a last minute cake for my birthday on Christmas Eve night, they were open at 9pm! Many thanks Golestan bakery!

I tried most other sweets and pastry Persian stores in North Van, but this one stayed consistent. In 12 years, I ordered dozens of times from Golestan — in a medium or large box, by the pound, or ice cream — and I don’t remember if I have ever been disappointed.
They have the largest variety of pastry, nice flavours and great creams inside. Most important: unlike other stores I tried in time in the area, their product was always fresh.

Golestan bakery is incredible.
I appreciate their low prices and their deserts are always so light and fluffy, instead of overly rich and sweet. Quality without the high price. I love this place and always make an excuse to get their Persian ice cream Iranian style! (pistachio, saffron, rose water)
Would give 1 more star if they get better packaging (compostable or something?)

This confectionery Golestan is really good. I was walking in the evening on Lonsdale St and had a cravings for some cream buffs. When I went in, I noticed a selections of traditional Persian sweets and French style pastries. However I sticked to my cravings which it was cream buffs. It was really delicious, I really loved it. I would definitely go back again.

Golestan bills itself as a «French and Persian Bakery.» They have a nice mix of traditional Persian sweets and more European style pastries. I tried out the baklava which was made with a mixture of pistachios and almonds. The dough was not as crunchy as I normally like. But the filling had a nice hint of rose water, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly overall. They have no prices posted at all though, and they probably have an «interesting» method of pricing. They weighed the purchase, and then decided if they should charge the per 100 grams price or the per piece price. They opted with the per piece price. I have no idea how much per 100 grams it would have been. It wasn’t terribly expensive, so I’m guessing the per piece was actually less expensive. But who knows!!!
I still prefer the baklava at Afra Bakery (
) though, which is not too far away.
