I used to go to the location in Little Italy so now I’m happy that they have a location closer to home. Absolutely love the cannoli! I only wish that they would make them all day… must go early if you want to get your hands on one.

I have known about this place for a long time, but have never tried. In fact, when I was still living in Ottawa, I had wanted to try their original location in Little Italy, but I never tried. So when I was in Westboro with my boyfriend and walked by this location, I decided to finally give it a try. I have to say, I think this place is en par with similar coffee places and the prices are also en par. However, I was a bit disappointed with their coffee. When I try a new coffee place, I always order a regular drip coffee so that I can taste the actual coffee. The dark brew they had that day, I thought was weak and the coffee wasn’t hot enough — maybe because it was close to the end of the day, I am not sure, but I wasn’t too happy about the coffee. I also ordered two different types of biscotti and a Tiramisu. Out of all the items I ordered, I would say I enjoyed the Tiramisu the most. Overall, I think this is a good place to come to for a cup of coffee and enjoy a sweet treat. But it just didn’t live up to all the hype.

I’m glad I stopped in here this morning! I ordered a ginger biscotti and a medium pumpkin spice latte, which came to around $ 5.75. This price seems quite reasonable to me, especially compared to other huge chain coffee shops. The ginger biscotti was especially tasty and the latte had the perfect amount of spice. Service was fast(helps that I was the only one in line) and friendly. Seeing all the mouthwatering looking pastries and desserts in the display case made just about made my head pop off with excitement. There are a ton of different kinds of biscotti, plus different pies and cakes and cookies. There’s also a section to the right with packaged sandwiches and salads. It’s quite spacious inside and looks like a nice place to hang out for a while by the window. I didn’t notice whether they had wifi, however.

Simply Biscotti may seem like a tiny café in the small Little Italy area of Ottawa. It’s clean, and with a good assortment of pastries and sandwiches – perhaps not so extraordinary. But go upstairs, where the real seating is, and you have been transported to a special little café in Italy where you can have your coffee or lunch in what seems like the coziest space to dine. It’s pretty, intimate and quaint upstairs. Simply Biscotti, besides delicious traditional Italian pastries and biscotti, also have excellent sandwiches. The Portabella Panini was tasty and chock full of veggies, nicely heated up on the grill. Simply Biscotti is a nice place to pass the time, or stop in for a snack after a visit to the Museum of Agriculture not too far away. The staff here is very friendly and they seem to have many locals who work in the area come in for lunch.

Amazing coffee and pastry shop, seriously, so delicious. 1) I had the best fruit tart I’ve ever eaten here. 2) Selection is mind boggling, you couldn’t possibly get through it all. Huge plus for me. 3) They put the effort to be creative. They had this sugar plum thing that was pretty cool, shows they go the extra mile to to try new things and keep it fresh for customers. Staff was pretty nice, they could have mentioned that the food would be brought to the table but that’s really just my lack of experience. Missing star is from the insanely high prices, seriously, I’m generally ok with higher prices but do you ever need a fat wallet to eat here. Worth it? Yes. But its still supposed to be a coffee shop.

I was waiting for a 9a appointment in the area, looking for a place to grab a coffee. Saw the sign and headed in. Nice space, very clean(immaculate), well organized with a big case of pastries, sandwiches for lunch traffic — and of course biscotti. Ordered a latte and a pastry. Server was excellent — pleasant, attentive, helpful. Coffee was solid, pastry was yummy. My only ‘complaint’ and it’s not a real complaint, but a personal preference was the music — very easy listening. Boring, bordering on annoying. Elevator music with vocals. Oh well. It’s not a coffee shop I’d get to more than a couple of times a year based on location, so I can handle it for 15 minutes now and again. :-) Would I recommend: Yes Would I return: Yes — and next time I’ll actually try the biscotti!

I’m a big fan of both Simply Biscotti locations in Ottawa. The one undeniable advantage this one has over Preston Street is the free parking in Westboro. The food is the same quality, and the service is as good, if not better. They make great coffees, the pastries are superb(I’m a fan of the chocolate eclairs and of the cannoli), and the sandwiches and frittata are also tasty if you go there with a larger appetite. In summer, though, the nod has to go to the Preston location for the lovely patio with the fountain, the closest you can get to Italy in Ottawa.

Prreeeeeeeecious! When Andrea B brought me to Simply Biscotti, I was simply delighted. This super cute coffee shop not only serves up a glorious macha green tea latte, but they also have a fascinating selection of biscotti to snack upon. Everything from basic almond to ginger to chocolate dipped. Plus there is a myriad of other treats that will surely satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth. I thoroughly enjoyed the white chocolate dipped almond biscotti… I didn’t leave even one crumb on the plate. The interior is clean and modern with pretty lighting overhead and free, stable WiFi. With friendly staff and a handful of tables to grab a seat to work or chat, I can see why Simply Biscotti is a treasure in the this neighborhood.

The newest location in Westboro is home to the most biscotti I’ve encountered in one place. An entire display case dedicated to these delectable dippers with flavours ranging from the ordinary(chocolate) to the obscure(pumpkin). And for the wheat-free guy/girl, a gluten-free section individually pre-packaged, but still homemade. Why not nab two for snacking? They cater to both the lactose intolerant — with soy and almond milk readily available, the dietary restricted with their gluten free options, and the sugar obsessed with pastries, cakes, frozen treats all begging to be bit. Staff is friendly, constantly buffing tables, while being totally cool with you surfing their wi-fi, using one of their plugs(along the wall) and even moving the tables around to accommodate any size. 5 of 30 Day Challenge

Must just echo Andrea B. on this one! — great service, great prices, friendly staff and tastey treats! Also, how exciting to be able to enjoy a delicious chia tea late with lactose-free milk?! Yay!

This is my new favourite coffee shop in Westboro — and since there’s so many great ones, this is definitely a big deal. a friend recently brought me one of their ginger biscotti and I knew that I needed to head to this place immediately. Located beside Lilac Lingerie just past Richmond and Churchill, it’s a short walk from the number 2 bus route(my glamorous preferred means of transportation!). Walking on, my first impression was how lovely the décor was. The walls are a muted neutral beigish-grey(or greige, as is the new term, ha), and everything is accented in black and white, including the awesome lampshades that are printed with silhouettes of trees. I want them. My lovely friend and I were mesmerized by the display cases full of different biscotti, gorgeous cakes, cookies and more delicious treats. I hadn’t had dinner yet, and their panininis looked divine. I opted for the turkey and cheddar and it was simple, but divine. Both my friend and I ordered lactose-free chai lattes and they were perfect — just the right amount of foam. She really enjoyed her almond-orange biscotti, and I liked the chocolate hazelnut, though I think I’ll have to grab a ginger one next time — it was SO good! This little gem also has free WiFi, plenty of tables and really comfortable chairs. The staff are friendly and the place was spotless. I can’t wait to come do some work here during the daytime. So thrilled the owner opened this location in Westboro. It fits in perfectly with the surrounding businesses, but is different enough, and delicious enough, to stand out on it’s own. Looking forward to my next visit already!
