Came into Peterborough for a day trip and was looking for somewhere to have lunch. Stopped by Cookshop and we were definitely not disappointed. The atmosphere and service was great. Very rustic theme and looks homey. We came on Sunday and they had their brunch menu out. Ordered the po’ boy($ 18) and the hot & sloppy($ 18). The po’boy had chili fried shrimp with coleslaw on a soft bun and came with home made potato chips but the standout was the onion dip. Perfect amount of onion taste and wonderfully creamy. We enjoyed the hot & sloppy sandwich even more. It had pulled Korean spiced short ribs which were melty and juicy. This was topped with pickled onions and a spicy cabbage slaw. Definitely would order this again!

Came here as per the other Unilocal reviews. So good I felt inclined to write a review for the first time. Everything tastes fresh and home made. Big portions, great service! Would highly recommend :)

Po Boy was among the best sandwiches I have ever had. Bread was perfect. They made chicken fingers a grown up meal. 2 friends both had the breakfast and raved about it as well.

I was in town from Toronto & drove by this cute place. Well, let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We only had 30 mins. until we had to be elsewhere & they not only served us but we ate & paid in that time. All fresh, homemade food. I was impressed. However, the highlight was definitely the food which was outstanding. I had the Miami Ham sandwich & my b’friend had the eggs & bacon. Both plates were HUGE(like, ridiculously so)! We could only eat half of it & packed the rest up to go along w/their homemade ketchup(mmm). I will admit that the prices seemed high(like Toronto prices) but it really was worth every penny! We even bought some fresh bread to take home. We didn’t have room but the desserts looked to-die-for. Now I have a reason to come back to Peterborough!

This restaurant was awesome, I haven’t been to too many restaurants in Peterborough but I’m definitely impressed with this one. I loved everything about the restaurant especially the company wink. The Turkish breakfast but instead got the classic and it was awesome. They really did a nice job on presentation and providing me with lots and lots of food. I also got the Chorizo sausage gravy stuff and it was awesome as a side. The staff were really friendly and even know there was a bit of a lineup it was definitely worth the wait. The coffee was amazing as well and was filled up several times. Thank you for a great experience!

After hearing so many recommendations about Two Dishes my wife and I decided to give it a whirl for breakfast. Unfortunately we arrived after 12 and the lunch menu only had 2 breakfast items listed with their lunch items. As we waited for our ham and eggs with fried potatoes we noticed other dishes coming out of the kitchen and the portions blew me away. I am not easily impressed but man was I ever! Breakfast was amazing. The ham was more like small steak and the homemade bread was fantastic. So much so we tried to buy a loaf. The potatoes were plentiful and super flavorful. It was a 10 out of 10. If you are looking for the same old same old greasy spoon breakfast with little to no creativity you have come to the wrong place. If you want amazing food that is tasty and robust in flavor and stature, Two Dishes is for you. On a side note, while we were there two other prominent restauranteurs were dining there as well. If that doesn’t tell you something, nothing will.

Found this little place while heading towards Ottawa! Glad we stopped by for some brunch! We ordered the green eggs & ham on cookshop toast and eggs in a hole. We preferred the overall dish of the green eggs & ham since it was more flavourful. The eggs in a hole dish was simple yet tasty but it was a little dry since the eggs were over done instead of over easy. However, their ketchup seems to be made in house as it has a smokey flavour! Really complimented the dishes! Check out this little place if you are in town! Food and service were amazing! Saw desserts on the way out that looked delectable! Will definitely come back when I’m in town again!

A bit pricey, but excellent none-the-less.

The word is out on this place — reservations are highly recommended at lunch or you’ll be very disappointed. Fresh and interesting combinations or ingredients make this a unique and tasty alternative to the standard fare around town.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Two Dishes a few times now, and I’ve never had a meal there that was anything less than delicious. I used to see Sue and co at the downtown Wednesday farmer’s market, bringing home amazing loaves of bread and sticky buns the size of your head. When I found out they were opening a restaurant I was really excited, and they did not disappoint. I’ve had great dishes like a bulgogi burger(bulgogi spiced marinated beef, ground into a juicy patty), spicy shrimp and sausage hash, incredible fried chicken sandwiches, and beautiful chopped salads. They’re still at the Wednesday market serving lunch and some incredible treats. My husband went nuts for the cranberry cookies and the potato chip marshmallow squares. Get your brunching self down there!

Came here for Sunday brunch with some friends. I had the chickpea fritters which were delicious, and came served with an awesome yogurt sauce, toasted flatbread, fresh salad greens, and their house made«nuts and bolts»(a trail mix of sorts). Two friends got the biscuit with sausage gravy, and another the fried chicken with jalapeño cheddar waffles — they all said their meals were delicious. My other friend got the tofu hash, which she said was disappointing. It’s a small joint, but you can tell everything is made with love :) I will definitely be back for more!
