I always like to find the silver lining in all situations. So I’ll say that for this one… in the end … we finally got our drinks made correctly. I believe the baristas at this location were definitely having a bad day. It started off with the one at the cashier. My family and I were in line. When it was our turn, the cashier(won’t mention names, so I’ll call her«A») asked for my order. I was first taken back by her abrupt, «what do you want to order?». I turned to my kids to ask what they wanted, my daughter saw A do the eye roll at me. Seriously? My first drink was a Venti Green Tea Frappuccino. I started to order my 2nd drink and A abruptly said, «WAIT». I thought … woooooow. My second order was for a Venti Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino … I saw A go through two cups before handing the cup to the 2nd Barista. When I say go through, I mean she wrote something on the cup, I’m guessing she wrote it wrong and tossed the cup into the recycle bin behind her. Such a waste of company supplies. The barista making the drinks(I’ll call her«R») was also having an off night. The first drink came out correctly, However the 2nd drink did not. I ordered a Peppermint Mocha, she made a mocha. When I said that the drink is incorrect. She said, «the order was for a mocha … NOT a peppermint mocha». So I repeated my order(thinking«A» wrote it wrong). She gave me a stare and without words she took the drink back to fix it. R started to slam things, throw lids into the sink, throw the spoon into the sink. I’m guessing to show me how mad she was that I had inconvenienced her? I understand that it’s a busy time, the mall was quite busy. I’m sure that the girls were tired. But that is no excuse for their behaviour and wasting store supplies.

This Starbucks, located in a Safeway on Blundell Road, is another example of the friendly service I often get in Richmond not to mention the number of locals who greet me when I am walking in parks there. I stopped here to pick up a hot chocolate for my centenarian friend who loves chocolate. Aurelia thoughtfully created a full fat milk version with lots of whipped cream. I heard it was delicious and as proof saw the whipped cream moustache on my friend’s face. Aurelia put all her effort into providing thoughtful, creative service and my coffee also had the stamp of her care.
