Decent Taiwanese style fried junk food(chicken, pork, and fish sticks). Good for casual hangouts. You’ll see young people, families, and even kids bringing their old folks here.

Came here on a Thursday night after some ultimate looking for a meal and refreshing drink. Found both! On a friend’s recommendation I ordered the sizzling steak. It comes with rice or noodles and I ordered rice which was a little sticky… exactly how it should be when your eating a black pepper steak. The rice balances out the spiciness of the black pepper sauce and the texture is kinda gooey in your mouth so it soothes the kick from the sauce! The steak itself was cooked well enough. The downer was that the plate wasn’t sizzling like how I’m used to when ordering this kinda dish. The carrots are a little undercooked too, I was expecting them to be a little softer but they were crunchy. That’s just personal preference! After 10:00PM drinks go to 50% off. So I ordered the mango. Not the best drink I’ve had but definately not the worst either. Refreshing for sure and only a little bit chemically tasting(as expected from powder drinks). I’d go back for sure.

Been here many times and each time was a good experience. Restaurant is clean with modern layout, can accommodate large parties(10+). Service is good with normal wait-time for food. Food portions are generous and very tasty, bubble tea is on point, this is the only place I know of that has MATCHAPUDDING, get on that shit, you will not regret it, youre welcome. Menu is a little ghetto, printed black and white, crossed-off, edited by hand and photocopied but gets the job done. This place gets crazy busy, there’s always a line/waitlist. Lots of parking. I would definitely recommend this place!

Strike 破店 restaurant Décor 3.5 Ambience 4 Cleanliness 4.5 Service 5 Food 5 Value 5 This was a total surprise as we walk in quite early there were a few table at 5:45pm the place is nothing fancy but simple and clean. Manu was done with paper print only Manu that printed in Color was their combo dinners. The waitress was very friendly. The Manu had lots of good variety to choice from. Some of the food that we see on the Unilocal photo was now discontinued because it too labor intensive to make. Was really too bad cause some those hand made food from scratch would have been really authentic. The Manu prices were very good value as the portions were more than generous for the price you pay. The taste was very much the same a what you get in Taiwan. Food quality was great and fresh. The only down side is they don’t offer alcoholic beverages. But they do offer many traditional tea type of drinks many specialty drinks. Plus lots of different milk tea. They seem busy through out. Highly recommended place. Can’t go wrong.

Not my favorite Taiwanese restaurant, the portions are a bit small, the food is either very salty or overly greasy. The dish we ordered was way too salty and overly seasoned, and there weren’t many meat pieces. The popcorn chicken was alright, a bit too greasy but nothing special. Service was slow even though there weren’t that many customers.

Ordered the«Mountain Yam Seafood Milk Hot Pot» and«Taiwanese Chicken Nugget Rice» Hot pot came and first thing I noticed was the soup wasn’t white. I tasted it, and no hint of milk/cream in it at all. Just a chicken broth flavor. Secondly, it was 70% chicken pieces(even though it said ‘seafood), with 2 overcooked prawns with the intestines still in, a couple pieces of fish, and a couple pieces of octopus legs. Mountain yam was undercooked so it still had the slimy taste to it. Worst of all was the fire under the hotpot. They didn’t use the gel stuff — I think it was just a bit of oil. It ran for 5 mins and then it went off. My hot pot never even reached boiling. Rice was undercooked — super hard. Chicken Nuggets were just ok. Didn’t have the same seasonings other Taiwanese restaurants. Had a sweeter flavor to it. By far the worst Taiwanese restaurant I’ve been to — compared to Well Tea, Pearl Castle, Sunway, Corner 23, Maji, Memory Corner.

Crazy busy but not very good. I understand the value is good since its 50% off drinks after a certain time, but honestly I’d rather pay full price and get a yummy drink. Got the milk tea with pearls and it was not very good. The pudding(regular and green tea) was weird too. Good if you’re broke and craving bubble tea I guess???

Strike serves up some legit Taiwanese café food! The décor is a bit tacky, dim lighting, possibly dirty tables but good food is what you come for! And I also heard that drinks are half off after 930? Or 10pm? The food: Taiwanese chicken bites with rice. Absolutely perfection! Juicy meat, big pieces and seasoned well. Also the deep fried fish cake was delicious! A must come if you’re craving for some good tw food!

Ha, I go to their Kitsilano location so often that when I came here, one of their waiters recognized me! I love Strike. It’s not the best Taiwanese food ever, but for the price, it’s quite satisfying! The menu here is a lot larger than the menu offered at their Kits location! One dish that’s exclusive to this location is their Sakura Shrimp fried rice! It’s really yummy! It’s basically tiny pieces of shrimp, stir fried with rice! It has a strong shrimp past flavour and it’s super fragrant! I also noticed that the portion size of the 3 cup chicken is noticeably larger here. Weird I know. I think it has something to do with the pan they serve it in? All in all, I love Strike, but I like their Kits location better(the service is alot better too.)

Came again for lunch and now I remember why I love this place. They have a great deal for $ 28 where you choose two dishes, one appy and comes with plant pudding! You can also add $ 3.99 to change the white rice to a fried rice or fried noodle. We ordered this ontop of a house special beef noodle soup and it was much more than enough food for 3 people! Although it is quite oily, they do not skimp on the portions with chunks of shank in the noodle and plenty of beef in the stir fry black pepper beef. The salty peppery chicken is on point with crispy outer coating that isn’t batter heavy or overly salty and a huge portion as well. Lastly, the pineapple fried rice has shrimp and a light ketchup flavour that my dad loved. Great food and great deal if you need an indulgent and heavier Taiwanese fix :)

Strike is known for their late night bubble tea special and that’s what we came for. The daily/weekly specials on the board aren’t eligible for this offer so if that’s solely what you want, don’t bother checking out that board. As always, this place is packed with youngsters. Many come in groups of 4 or more. Be ready to wait a while if you’re also coming with a big group. We were a group of two so there was almost no wait time even though we were told to mark our names down. We quickly got the menu which was a really old, almost torn apart, used a million times kind of menu. Some items were scratched off and other items had their prices changed. The menu had a note about this being a temporary menu for the soft opening. Not sure when that was, but I’ve seen this place here for quite a while, I’d think they’d have newer menus printed by now. The servers didn’t initiate the order taking nor looked our way. It took us a while to flag one of them down. They didn’t seem overly busy as they were all huddled in a group near the cash register. When our server finally came, I ordered the Calpis Black Tea and my friend had the Fresh Strawberry bubble tea(from the daily special menu). As they served the table behind us, I noticed how pretty the plant pudding was so we ordered one of those to share. The drinks weren’t what we expected. Calpis Black tea was ok, didn’t really taste the Calpis but I liked it more than the strawberry milk tea. My friend agreed and said that milk tea was a bit watered down and that he didn’t taste the difference from using fresh strawberries. The plant pudding, however, was delicious. It had a crunchy layer on top with a smooth cream that divides the contrasting textures of the ‘crushed cookies’ from the soft and smooth matcha pudding at the bottom. Oh and yes, for presentation, there was a tiny mint leaf on top with some red beans. Totally recommend getting this. Sadly, though, service seems to be terrible. We asked what the crumbs on top was made of, because my friend said it was crushed sesame cookies and I said it was some kind of cereal/wheat germ mixed with sesame powder. The girl we asked just ignored us and when my friend pressed for an answer she mumbled crushed cookies and ran off. What if I was allergic to one of the ingredients? Should I not have a proper answer when asked. If you don’t know, you should simply consult one of the kitchen staff or show some concern. Anyways, not a big deal since neither of us have allergies. Now down to the serious question, would I come back? Probably not for the drinks and if it’s late at night and there’s no other dessert place that’s open in Richmond, sure.

It’s probably 3.5 stars, but I feel generous. Strike is probably the most authentic taiwanese restaurant that I’ve been to in a while. The flavors hit home and stir in me deep memories and sorrow for what Taiwan has become now. It’s just not possible for Taiwan to exist beside the juggernaut of China and not slowly watch its identity and culture seep away. The chicken was tender and delicious. The skin was fried and braised. The star anise and cilantro in the meat sauce gave it the authentic taste I was looking for. Food came fairly fast. Large portions. A good experience. The ambience and interior design was modern. Only point of criticism was that overall it wasn’t that clean. All the surfaces in the restaurant could be scrubbed down a bit better.

I ordered a deep fried chicken steak with spiced soy sauce rice combo and a bowl of Taiwanese style braised minced pork sauce of noodle. Both tasted very good! The portion of each dish at this restaurant is quite big. The price is reasonable or not too expensive comparing to other Taiwanese restaurants. I saw five girls who sat close to my table ordered three dishes and shared the food. I guess the girls didn’t eat as much as guys, but at least the portion of three dishes was big enough for five girls! I really like this Taiwanese restaurant and I think this is the best one among all those Taiwanese restaurants in Greater Vancouver so far. I would definitely go back and try other dishes. The bad thing is to look for parking spots in this complex. The parking lot is always full that I either park far away and walk to the restaurant or wait for people to leave.

Sometimes when I dine in Richmond, I feel that the staff or owners of certain restaurants could care less what you think about the place, the service or the food, or whatever else you may be pondering about when you enter an establishment. This is one such place that made me feel that way right away. Truthfully I had written three reviews here in the past, deleted them all and now I’m starting on a fresh slate. Taiwanese food is decent here. Lots to choose from and at times it can be busy, even on a week night. Hey, this is Richmond. If you want to enjoy a meal here, you have to adapt to the Asian way of dining. That in particular also means you have to pay cash, which always makes me wary of the inner workings of the business aspect of places. For the Food, I give them a 3.5 to 4 stars depending on what you order. For the service(if you don’t speak Chinese) it’s less than a 2 star, unless you’re used to this style of service, then it’s average. The Menu is still photocopied like it was when they first opened. So this isn’t impressing me much. Which means, it’s all about the food and that’s how this place survives. Bubble tea and decent Taiwanese snacks and combo’s. The wuntun soup is worth a try. Clear clean tasting broth and good dumplings.

Can’t quite pin point what was not quite great about this place. Nothing bad stood out, but nothing really good stood out either. lots of space. friendly servers. The food was reasonably good. but overall the taste just didn’t stand out. Again in the land of amazing Chinese food, relative to peers, i’d say it’s just ok. not bad.

This place was packed! We didn’t know that it was cash only so we had to walk to Lansdowne to get some money at TD Bank. Oh well, now we’ll know for the future!!! We waited a few minutes before someone came to ask us for our name for the waitlist. Luckily it took less than 2 minutes!!! The service was outstanding! Honestly we kept saying throughout the meal how shocked we were at the service. Usually Taiwanese restaurants have rather apathetic service so we weren’t expecting much… so we were pleasantly surprised! They had so many servers so it never took more than a few seconds to flag someone down! The food is great! For the price point, the portions are large. We were expecting to be full but not expecting enough food for leftovers!!! My one complaint is that the stir fried cabbage had way too much garlic. It was just overwhelming. It was cooked perfectly but the amount of garlic was overkill. Service: 5 stars Food: 4 stars Please note: CASHONLY!

This is one of my favourite late night place. If you have bubble tea after 10:30 is half price. Especially after 10:30 everyday the place gets really super pack. I have had lunch there before. the dinner and lunch menu is the same. As well this is an after badminton game hot spot. It has decent prices. And the décor is not bad. Washroom is clean. I do recommend going here.

Strike is an authentic Taiwanese restaurant in Richmond, always jammed pack with people because of their reasonable prices and their delicious offerings. If you come after 10pm, drinks are half off! It gets quite hard to get a table on a Friday or Saturday night so be prepared to wait around 20 minutes or so. Their bubble tea is extremely frothy and cold, shaken to perfection. The taro green tea was one of the best that I ever had and they gave me a generous amount of pudding for the extra $ 0.50. The only reason why I’m taking off a star is because they had so many people that the waitress(kindly) asked us if we could give up our table even though we weren’t finished drinking our bubble tea yet. However, it was sort-of reasonable since we only had ordered drinks and already paid while there were at least 15 people waiting to be seated.
