OK, it’s not Venice Beach, but it’s a Blue Flag beach in Toronto! I’m thrilled to say that I swam in L. Ontario today for the first time in my life, and I was born here quite some time ago. In fact, I’ve lived within 2 kms of this beach for 20 years. More info; Located in «The Beach» neighbourhood east of Lee Ave., this 1.2-kilometre set of sand pocket beaches is served by the Eastern Beaches boardwalk and the paved Martin Goodman Trail. The Queen 501 streetcar is only 300 metres from the beach. Limited free parking. All amenities, including a snack bar and accessible washrooms, are within walking distance. Lifeguarded daily from 11:30 to 18:30 with first aid available on site. The Leuty Lifesaving Station, an icon of the Toronto waterfront, lies at Kew-Balmy”s west end.
