Great selection … When in stock. They need to get people who understand the products that they sell… Came in several times and it was hard to find anyone on the third floor who could help me with anything really. I’m pleased with Micheal’s being in the area none the less. I just hope for future hires they consider always having at least one person who understands what they are selling. The first time I went in for gold leaf paint no one was even around to help… Out of all the floors I finally managed to find a representative on the third floor. Once I asked her where I could find it she asked me to wait because apparently she was the only person working and had 3 other people in front of me?! How can such a large store be so understaffed on a weekend morning I don’t know… I was very happy to see on my second visit that this has changed. They now have many more reps working the floor… unfortunately when I went to ask about some stain glass products again, I was not able to get the help I needed from the first representative… I was however referred to Amanda(on the ground floor) who was able to answer my questions. Service is definitely getting progressively better. UPDATE*** Went back a couple more times since and they are definitely getting things more organized! I have to say I really love all the 50% off coupons from this place! I don’t go to any other places for art supplies anymore because of the amazing prices and they stock is unreal!

Came during the busy holiday season. Poorly organized, poorly tidied. Price labels missing all over the place. Absence of intuitive ways of finding anything, problematic when a store is split into multiple levels like this. Staff all but invisible, one turned and walked away just as we made eye contact. Not a good experience. Won’t be back.

Lots of variety, but I needed something from a section that turned out to be poorly maintained — felt. If you’re going to stock it, keep it in stock.

opening in the old location, of one of the biggest stand-alone chapters in the country. micheals took its place. they did an amazing job flipping the place into a bright and somewhat decent example of a micheals store, however, i’ve experienced better at other micheals locations. the staff are eager to help, but i feel they need a bit of time to get used to where everything is, and the same line has to be said for the cashier, the cashier wasn’t sure how to apply my coupon to the bill, and then forgot to give me back my change. i’m gonna chalk it up to nervousness, at least they are better then any other art store in a 5 km radius. AS always, print off a coupon, before coming here, OR downloading one to your phone.

This is a new store in the old location of the downtown Playdium. 3 floors of arts and crafts supplies! The first floor has fine arts(painting, drawing, etc.) along with frames and custom framing. The second floor is beading/jewellery making and yarn. The top and largest floor has seasonal, floral, ribbon, glassware, and all the various craft supplies(scrap booking, soap making, wood carving, etc.). Nice big open store and easy to find stuff in. Unfortunately, like most Michaels stores it was way too hot inside. It was cool and windy outside but inside felt like a sauna, Prices are pretty much the same all their stores and not jacked up because it is in such a high rent district. Always be sure to go to their website and download the latest coupon before shopping as they always have a coupon there.
