Do not get your nails done here. I had a manicure & pedicure done and it just did not last. The manicure chipped within a day and after 10 days the manicure was peeling off and falling off in chunks. There was barely any polish left on my nails. Totally disappointing when you are paying for a service. I usually give myself at home manicures that last a solid week, professionally done nails should last the same amount of time or longer. even worse, the pedicure i received chipped in 1 week. everyone knows pedicures last very long 2 weeks +. very disappointed again. I suspect they may be using cheap polish, maybe a knock of china glaze or just very old polish. good nail polish does not chip off that quickly. The services may be cheap but there is no point in getting your nails done if it chips in a matter of days. The nail techs dont speak english and its very hard to understand or communicate with them at times. as well they constantly try to push gel polish. i was asked 3+ times to upgrade to gel polish. I go to the spa to relax, not be hassled about upgrades. despite having an appointment i was still forced to wait 10+ minutes for a nail tech. all in, theres better places that carry OPI polish for the same price point.

So many times I said, I’ll tell Unilocal about this bad experience… today is the day. Consistently the worst place but it’s close to where I live. No one speaks English or worse, makes an effort. 3 sentences only if you’re lucky.

Today, I had an appointment and came in a few minutes early and my manicurist had just started someone else! She said «I have other good girl for you». After I asked the money taker at the front «who?» She pointed out the «good girl» (after telling me 6 times to pick a color)
The «good girl» had just started someone else!
Now I give up, I will drive somewhere if I have to.
Too many other examples of poor poor quality service and being lied to my face. Not worth it. They suck.

Went there for the first time today only because I live close by. They have 3 difference types of manicure which they cannot explain the differences between one another. So went for the cheapest one and I think it’s probably the worst manicure I’ve ever had, came out looking like I just did my own manicure. I would suggest to go only if you’re close by or need a quick fix or simply just don’t have that particular colour at home.

Mira’s nail and noble madam on 128 Cumberland own by same family. They are all Very dirty places. Tools never sterilize properly. They are recycling nail files and buffers. Wax rollers use on multi customers. Liquid wax use on Brazilian waxing and facial waxing also. Staffs did sloppy jobs. Shellac manicure chipping in 2 days. A girl name is Shuwen. She is always give a very mean face to customers she is very rude. She is very sloppy. Never wash her hands before back to work station. Always make customers bleeding. It was risking infection on HIV. AIDS. She treats customers unfairly. If you give her good tips she will give you 10% off after tax by cash. If you don’t tips good for her. No 10% off and She will talking bad on you and very disrespect you.

I have been here once and had a good experience. The salon was clean and the staff were very friendly. Shellac manicure was applied thin and looks great. One thing I didn’t like was that my cuticles were cut dry, no softening gel. However, I will definitely go back.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I wouldn’t go back even if they were the last nail salon in town.
I came here with a friend, she gets her nails done here sometimes and is happy with their work. She made reservations for both of us a day in advance. My nail tech left halfway through, didn’t explain why she was leaving or what was happening, and someone named Steven replaced her. He also didn’t explain what was going on, and actually didn’t say anything to me at all. It was pretty weird. The nail tech working on my friend explained that my nail tech had another appointment and had to go. Well, I had an appointment too.
Steven kept adding thinner to my polish so I asked him if it was old. He ignored me. I asked again and pulled my hand away so he would answer. I asked if I should pick another polish. I chose the polish that was already at the table and was very similar to the first one. Steven seemed annoyed, though only one nail was painted before the switch, so it couldn’t have been too bad. He didn’t clean up the area around the nail, so I had some paint on my skin. My cuticles were also dry.
I spoke to the owner afterwards about the double booking and the poor service I received from Steven. He didn’t apologize and offered to have it redone. All of the nail techs looked busy, and I didn’t want to get Steven again. At this point I just wanted to leave. They took the polish off, my friend paid for her services, which were fine, and we left. Not a word from the owner. Not only am I surprised at the poor service, but I’m even more surprised that the owner condoned it. I’m a reasonable client and a regular at two salons and I haven’t had any nail issues for almost a decade.
I won’t be back.

Had a shellac manicure and regular pedicure by Jessica C. She was well-​spoken in English and did a great job.
The salon itself is clean. Wide range of services. A little on the pricey side since (I typically go out of city for these services) but a reasonable downtown alternative.
Will return.

I live close by and therefore would come here frequently to get my mani/​pedi done. They have a great selection of colours and most (not all) of the staff really know what they’re doing.
On my most recent visit, I wanted a buff only mani/​pedi. The woman who was supposed to do my toes very rudely informed me that I’d have to pay an additional $ 10 for a buff only service. I was surprised to hear this, since no one here had ever mentioned this before (and I’ve had buff only mani/​pedis here before), and asked why I was being charged more when I was getting less (no product). Instead of trying to explain to me (or getting someone else who could communicate with me), she again repeated that I had to pay an additional $ 10. Because of the way she was speaking to me, I felt uncomfortable staying there, so I took my feet out of the water, and said I’d go elsewhere. She walked away, and didn’t even help me out of the seat.
Another woman (the one who originally seated me, her name was either Jessie or Jess or Jessica) came back to me and said she would do it for me without the extra charge. I was extremely wary, since the other woman so belligerently spoke to me and aggressively marched away, and I didn’t really want to trust the care of my nails to this salon anymore. But she warmly smiled, and I sat down. She did an incredible job, and was very kind, friendly, and talkative throughout the session, and for that I am very thankful – she’s the only reason this place gets any stars. But I will not be coming back here again.

I came in for a quick polish change on the way to a dinner. I allowed plenty of time because I’m one of those people who likes to sit and let their nails dry for an hour so as not to smudge them.
Since the polish change was $ 11, I had medium level expectations. The place was clean, and busy.
It is by far the worst job I’ve seen done. And not because the nail tech was bad — the polish was even enough and he only applies it to my nails and not on my nail beds. But when it dried, it was bubbly and full of ridges. I asked for them to redo it, and suggested a different colour since obviously the polish was old and stale. They reused the same polish and, to nobody’s surprise, the results were the same. They weren’t particularly apologetic about it either, despite me continuously saying that I had somewhere to be and could somebody just take the polish off for me?
This all being said, I came back the next day they redid it (mediocrely) for me. All in all, the situation was overly stressful and time consuming and I’m looking for somewhere I can feel relaxed and pampered. I would come back to try it again if everywhere else was booked, but only because it’s so close to where I work.

I often go here on lunch as I work near by. It’s usually quick and for the price you can’t really expect an exceptional mani/​pedi. I actually like the way they do pedicures more. I do question their cleaning process though. After I was done my pedicure I saw them squeeze some cleaner in the tub and rinse. I really don’t think that’s sufficient enough as the tub is where the more bacteria can be.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would.

I’ve only been to Mira’s twice. The first mani/​pedi I received was passable. This last one? Never again. The job was rushed and beyond sloppy. Should my feet look worse leaving than when I came in? I understand I have thick heels but they weren’t rough. After my pedi with «Sue» they were. So before paying, I mentioned it to the owner, all I wanted was for it to be smoothed out, not redone. He argued with me and stated that if I had that much dead skin that I should’ve told the tech and gotten the blade for a $ 5 upcharge. I’ve gotten many pedicures before at other places and have never been charged extra.
Clearly, a lack of English was a the problem but so is the management. I’m a generous tipper, even when people do a shitty job, but if you give me bad service and argue with me? That means I will never return and none of my co-​workers, who work right next door will either.
Mira’s, you might be convenient but your poor attitude and sloppy work has lost you a lot of clients.
I’m sticking to High Park Nails.

I had a shellac pedicure, and it was an insane $ 45 plus taxes with no massage at all. Meanwhile, my friend’s lady gave a good rub and smack on her feet and legs. not to mention my friend was getting shellac on both her hands and feet, and was still done before me when she started after me. So not only was the price outrageous, the service I had sucked. They charged my friend $ 75 plus taxes (again, insane). For both of us, it was just one shellac color.
I dont know her name, so I have to say that the younger chubby girl with black framed glasses, light brown hair and a mole on her face I had is SO SO SO SO SO LAZY! She didn’t even ask me if the color is okay after she applied it to one toe, and when i tried to lift my toe to look at it, she just bent them and kept going! She also need such a sloppy job on filing my heels that they were still dry and rough after 5 mins in leaving the place after the cream dried. and again, no massage whatsoever. Very disappointing! Who goes for a pedicure expecting to have their heel to be the same as they walked in? This was a complete waste of money! For the price they charge, you could be treated much much much better elsewhere.
I also need to mention how rude the guy at cash was too. Hey, how about you tell us it is 10% off when paying with cash BEFORE we pay with card!?! Pay your own damn fees! What was worse were the people that was eating at their stations. smh.
Plenty of nail salons in the area. I would not recommend you waste your time and money here. We only came here from a recommendation from coworkers (thanks), but even their nails only lasted 3 days before chipping. I know we should have asked beforehand how much it was going to cost, but they should have mentioned something. That was very unprofessional of them. I generously overtipped them as did my friend. Enjoy our one time business seeing how that is your goal; well achieved.
Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else and trust the negative reviews. I would give them no stars if it was an option.

I come here often to get my nails and toes done and I always leave the salon happy. I never have any problems with their service. They are very friendly.
Whenever I get a pedi, they ask if I want to turn on the chair massage and when I tell them to be gentle on a certain spot, they listen. They also take my coat for me and hang it up and when the pedi is done they put my socks on for me, and tie my shoes for me. Simple cute things like that.
When I get my nails done I am very particular with the shape and size and how the nail polish is put on. If it’s not shaped the way you want, you as a customer should tell them to redo it or let them know you’re not happy with it and they will gladly redo it or reapply the nail polish.
Finally when I’m done, they get my coat and put it on for me. I also never feel rushed when I’m there. I feel like they take their time on me. The person I usually get is STEVEN so maybe you should ask for him because I always like him! He’s one of my faves.

I have actually only been here to get my eyebrows done– three times over the past year, I think. I always just walk in and get it done without an appointment, as it is close to me. I know it’s a «cheap» nail salon, but I haven’t experienced anything offensive, really. I went a few days ago, got in right away, it was reasonably priced, my tech was very nice, and did a good job. She cleaned up well with tweezers after, and I like the shape and my results.
3 instead of 4 because the last time I took my cousin, they were a little TOO pushy with other services. I get it, it’s totally your job to mention it, but that amount of pushiness turned me off a bit.
I think it’s tax free if you pay cash? I will go back to get my eyebrows done again, and I would try out the $ 30 mani/​pedi.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HORRIBLE MANI/​PEDIS!
Got my nails done here twice, only because it’s 10% off when you pay cash and free shellac removal if you got it done there before.
The first time, the girl was pretty nice and did a pretty good job on my nails which was the whole reason I came back for a second time.
The second time was with a different nail tech and she came off to be a bit rude. First, I asked her very politely how much the shellac manicure was and she gave me a very rude reply of, «Shouldn’t you know since you got it done here last time?». Keep in mind that I spoke their language so there was no language barriers.
After that incident, I kept quiet throughout my appointment.
I got white shellac done and after I left, I already realized my right thumb wasn’t even done correctly. Thought about not wanting to cause trouble so I didn’t bother going back and complaining.
Only after one day, TWO nails’ shellac chipped off! I came back to the store the next day to show the boss and she was nice enough to ask a nail tech to fix it.
The whole process of fixing 3 nails was a nightmare. I kept getting passed off from one tech to another, having no idea why since there was no communication whatsoever, even when I spoke their language!
One of the 5 nail techs I was passed off to was the original nail tech who did my nails from the start and she kept saying things as if it was my fault that the shellac chipped off while having the boss beside me examining and telling me that she’s good at her job and people always come back to her. I just wanted to get my nail fixed and get out of there. After she finished, the 3 nails that she fixed was not even white and turned yellow. The nail tech started whining and just walked away without telling me what’s happened!
The nail techs and the boss were whispering at the front, completely ignoring me and not bothering to tell me what’s going on. 5 mins of awkward waiting and just sitting there later, another nail tech came and she was already really rude right off the bat. She kept pulling on my hand way to hard and redid my entire 3 yellow nails again, not wanting to talk to me at all and just glared at me.
The whole fixing process took almost an hour and a half and after she was done, she just walked away and left me at the desk! The entire team didn’t even bother saying anything to me even though I tried to be as polite as possible going in there.
Never going back there again. If they were nice and polite about the fixing process, I would’ve became a regular.
TLDR: Got nails done there, rude nail tech, chipped after one day, went back to fix the chipped nails and had to go through 5 different nail techs with no communication on what’s happening, overall very rude nail techs and horrible customer service.

DO NOT GO HERE!
This salon is the worst, we went and got the mani and pedi deal. Within minutes of leaving the salon our polish had rubbed off. They insisted our nails are dry to get more customers in, and rushes us out the door. They will not give a refund. They have horrible customer service. I recommend going to lovely nails instead.

My friend and I made an appt at Mira’s for 7:30pm (it was the only place we could find on short notice in the area during the evening that would take both of us at once) after reading mixed reviews and deciding to take a chance.
Full disclosure: I’m not used to going to really upscale places to get my nails done. I go where the deals are, hope that it works out, and if it doesn’t I just don’t go back. This place was just what I was looking for. Both of our mani/​pedi combos ($ 30) were fast, thorough, and well-​done. We had different technicians, both of whom were quiet, but friendly.
A woman next to me was getting french tips done, and I thought they looked great. The woman seemed displeased with them, but told the woman to go ahead and finish the rest (while perpetually sighing audibly at each finished nail). The woman doing her nails was very kind and offered several times to redo her nails if she could tell her what she didn’t like about them. Eventually four other women that worked there gathered around and all seemed confused but tried to figure out what the lady wanted. I thought it was really funny, and sweet that they cared so much when it honestly just seemed like the woman was having a bad day and taking it out on them.
After reading someone’s review that their waxing appointment went awry, I think I’ll stick to mani/​pedis.

I am fiercely loyal to my regular nail place but after receiving a gift card for a manicure ($ 17) to Mira’s for Xmas, I decided to check it out.
I arrived around 11am with no appointment. I enquired if I could redeem the gift card towards the pedicure ($ 28) instead. Since I would have to pay the difference of $ 11 for the pedi, I opted for the mani/​pedi combo for $ 30.
I chose my polish colours and was seated right away. My technician was friendly but not overly chatted. I passed the time with a new issue of People magazine — truth be told, I only go to nail salons so I can indulge in smutty magazines.
The mani/​pedi was done pretty quicky — I was out in under an hour. Since Mira’s is dangerously close to my office, I was able to wear flip flops back to my desk to allow the toes to dry further, which is great for the winter.
Mira’s is a very bright and cheery salon. They play new age nature sound CDs. There’s nothing offensive here but I’m loyal to my regular place so if there’s no gift card involved, I’m headed back to my usual place to get my nails did.

This place is hit and miss. I really feel like it depends on who you get as some technicians are more skilled than others. I’ve visited three times now and have been disappointed twice. Most recently my pedicure was rushed and completed very sloppily. My old polish wasn’t even removed properly and you can still see it. Come on! it’s not even the slightest bit hard to remove polish! That’s just plain lazy.
All in all I may be back for the odd polish change if necessary but only because the location is so close to my work.
