This place is not that great. The eye doctor who I saw was VERY rude with me. When I first met him he insulted what I do for a living, then after he checked my eyes he began to tell me that I do not need to wear glasses or contact lenses(which I have been for over 5 years). He said that with my prescription, I do not need any corrective lenses to see; however, when I am driving I cannot read what the road sign says, I cannot see people walking towards me until 5 feet away, etc. So I obviously need glasses, even if the prescription is not strong. I got the feeling that the optometrist working at this location does NOT care about his patients, and is only in it for the money$$$. I was also informed that I would receive a discount on my contact lenses as I am a grad student and I was eligible. However, when I went to pay they did not provide me with my insurance discount and just ignored me and worked with the next customer. I left the store and never returned again.

Do not, I repeat do not buy anything from here unless you want to pay for it or send the bill to Mom and Dad. I am surprised they do not charge for the air you breath in the store. Go to West 10th Ave or Broadway and find better deals and a lot better service. Sales staff not experienced and selection poor as well. Do not be a idiot and purchase your glasses from here.

Went in last week for a new pair of Prada sunglasses. The guy there was friendly and spent a lot of time with me trying different styles. Decided on an aviator style and he gave me a good deal because I’m a student from ubc. Would recommend to my friends!

I had two requirements for my new glasses: that the glasses fit properly and that the frames be designer(shallow, but nevertheless). I went to a few places in Metrotown, but I didn’t find a set of frames that I liked. I decided to check out House of Vision Optical because they’re really close to campus(located in UBC Village). The store is small, but they have a huge selection of designer frames, ranging from Gucci to Juicy Couture to Chanel. The staff were super friendly and kept bringing me tons of frames to try on. I’m really indecisive, but they were really patient and helped me choose a set of frames I really liked. All of their designer frames are half price if you’re a student, and the lenses I needed were $ 10 cheaper than what I was quoted at a few other places. Surprisingly, the glasses were ready for pick up the next day. They didn’t fit right when I originally tried them on, so the staff took them to the back room and fixed them immediately. I’m really happy with my glasses, and I’d definitely come back if I wanted another pair, but after reading Joyce’s review I’ll probably get my glasses tightened somewhere else.

Don’t base your judgment on this business from the previous post. Service was first class and prices were the best in the city that I could find, even at optical stores in Richmond. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses, of which one of them needed to be ordered in and within a week, I received a response from the store — first, to tell me that the lens and frames have arrived for 1 pair, and second, that the other pair is still on back order. I highly recommend them and will be back!

they charge for EVERYTHING. i regret getting my previous frames there(just because it was close to school). i brought in a pair of glasses i bought from asia to the store and they said they’d have to charge me $ 10 to tighten. i can understand your store policies but worst of all, after telling them i usually get it done for free, the owner used a sarcastic tone and told me that i can just go back to them. intolerable attitude. i’ve gotten my glasses tightened at high-end glasses store in kerrisdale and their service is x10 times better. AVOID.
