Just dandy to work in a for a while. I haven’t been to Jitters in a few years, and it seemed a lot louder than last time I was in there! The barista(who also may have been the owner) had some fairly loud friends in the café, and the music was quite loud too. It wasn’t a big deal, just a noticeable change from the chilled out café I remembered! The décor is the same — old school café/bar that reminds me a lot of Europe. I grabbed an Americano(decaf), and Abby S had a hot chocolate. My Americano wasn’t bad, although I did add milk and sugar so it’s not the best way to judge coffee! Prices are reasonable, and the service is quick. The wifi works well for getting shiz done.

Loved this place. We went here yesterday for brunch and it was excellent — I had the black forest ham bagel and my girlfriend had the vegetarian bagel. Really fresh ingredients used, made fresh to order as well. The girl behind the counter was being trained(first day maybe?) but she was fast and the food was great. My girlfriend got a Grande latte — it was huge! She said it was a little weak but good quality coffee. There is free wi-fi and its pretty quiet there, so good place to work or study. We will definitely be back during our Vancouver visit!

I ordered a large double americano and she had it for me very quickly. It wasn’t until after I left that I realized I never heard the espresso machine. It tastes like she poured half a cup of coffee and filled it with water.

This place has gone way downhill since the ownership changed. The espresso now tastes watery and the lattes and cappuccinos taste weak. I’ve given it multiple tries since the new owner took over and it has only gotten worse.

Jitter is a great little caffee in beautiful Kitsilano. Before going to the beach, we always stop by and grab our coffee to uplift mood, They are always nice and friendly, we love jitters,

Great local café with super-friendly staff and fresh-baked pastries to-die-for. Try the almond croissants if you get a chance. They go great with any java. They also have a nice newly renovated patio outside.

Chill. That’s what this place is like. Walk up the street to 49th Parallel and the place is packed to the gills. Not so here. It’s serene, and quiet. There were maybe 5 people in here in total on a Sunday early March afternoon. I only had coffee here and it was OK. In all honesty, I prefer the coffee here compared to 49th. Not sour. Intellegentsia I think is the brand they brew. Special mention that they are actually licensed to serve alcohol. Beer and wine. Cash and debit only

Slim on the pastry selection, lots of space, no real ambiance and my drink was okay, nothing to write home about. There are better bars with better ambiance.

This place was decent. I really enjoyed the chill, unpretentious, neighbourhood coffee shop vibe. The barista was friendly, seemed to know many of her customers by first-name basis, and made me a tasty Mocha. The down side? My Nanimo bar was… sub-bar at best. Definitely not fresh, and definitely not tasty. I had one little nibble and ended up throwing the rest away. Old baked-goods really upset me– I feel like if you’re going to even present it for sale to your customers, it’d better be FRESH… or at least listed as ‘day old’ and sold at a discount. All in all– a decent place. Not great, but also not bad. Oh– and doesn’t take mastercard. Cash or debit only.

Perhaps I lucked out compared to the other reviews here, but over the years I’ve never been disappointed in the coffee at Jitters. Perhaps it’s because it’s an oasis of serenity on this busy street, or perhaps it’s the proximity to Zulu Records that usually shares my trips to West 4th. The variety of sweet treats is always tempting, and it’s also one of the few coffee shops that is licensed.

OK, so I’m not exactly a coffee connoisseur. Don’t get me wrong — I love the stuff. But it’s the WAY I like it that would put me in the bad books of many a true java junky. Lots of sweet syrups, sugars of every kind, toppings — mmm vanilla sprinkles, chocolate shavings, fluffy whipped cream — so sue me already. Getting back to the topic at hand, Jitters Café is yet another coffee place to add to the long list of coffee places that dot 4th Avenue West. But as we all know, not all coffee places are created equal. I like Jitters because the space is cool, comfy and cozy, the vibe is personal, there’s free Wi-Fi(just ask for the password), lots of outlets to plug into, etc. The only problem I find is the alternative seating(couches, stools, low-riding coffee and tiny parlour tables) makes it a bit hard to do any serious work that requires a bit of spreading out(and a hard-backed chair to keep you alert). And they make the coffee like you like it — in my case, that’s all dressed up and sickly sweet.

It’s kind of ironic that these guys serve up a weak cup of java when they call themselves Jitters. I like the place, nice leather couch, natural sunlight, cool tunes and free wifi but I can’t forgive a place that calls itself a coffee shop and makes a brew like you’d find at a roadside gas station somewhere along route 80 in the US mid-west.

I had a fantastic cappuccino here as I wolfed down some delicious chocolate from Chocolate Arts down the block. Totally hit the spot. Granted I was exhausted from a late night and several miles of walking to start off the day, but when it hits the spot it hits the spot.

Jitters Café barely registers on my caffeine Radar even though I have visited here three or more times. The service has been devoid of personality and the coffee lacking in memorability. I like the atmosphere, however, and the window onto Fourth. Jitters is a reasonable spot to visit for a weekend coffee, but the décor and view is not enough to make it stand out as a quirky spot.

I feel horrible in saying this but in some ways, I can see why Starbucks is the preferred go-to for most people in need of a caffeine fix. The staff here were snide and rude. It took forever for them to take my order despite there being two baristas present at the time. When one finally sauntered over, she was impatient and curt – guess she didn’t take too well to having her conversation interrupted. My café mocha was okay. Not too sweet without being exceptionally bitter. Café-style food are on-hand should you develop a sudden hankering for a sandwich or pastry(standard variety of danishes and croissants). All this said, however, they must be doing something right as I walked past it on a random rainy Thursday night and it was filled with people despite its supposed eleven o’clock closing time. They are also licensed to sell beer and there is free wireless, another plus

I tend to judge the status of a coffee shop by my scientific method of ‘yummy-ness and ability to keep awake’. Scoff at me as will but you can’t call yourself a café if you don’t serve at least, good coffee. That being said, my soy latte(yes, I know this isn’t everyone’s definition of coffee, but i know the difference between a good one and bad one) from Jitters Caffe was decent, if not quite warm enough. The oldies on the stereo, combined with antique-y furniture and décor helped to seal in the comfy living room feeling, as does the free wireless internet connection. Jitters also serves a bevy of house made sandwiches on bread or bagel, as well as fruit smoothies and pastries.
