Was going there for the fight night(Pacquio VS Bradley) with dinner and dance floor(25 $ ticket). Mostly for fight night and dinner :) But in any case, as soon as we got there, it showed signs of global disorganization but I didn’t give any attention to it, I clearly remember telling myself that I was going to be lenient on my review. But things kept pilling up and I was compelled to write this down… There was nobody in the place at 6:45pm and we got to chose some good seats to see the screen in the better angle possible, we were gonna be 10 but were only 4 at that time and I noticed the buffet was already in the trays, waiting… Sushi, chow mein, fried rice etc etc. The first fights already started and the main card would start at around 7:30. So we ordered drinks and asked for the time we would be able to get our food. A server said 7:30. 7:30 comes by and the tables around are filling up pretty well and I notice people around us are hungry. So I hear other people asking when would the food be ready and 7:30 was again the answer, and the ticket said so. So a few people decided to get up, with pretty much everyone else following, and go to the buffet and start taking food but someone dressed with jeans and a shirt started shouting to stop and touch nothing, and he kept on repeating it, «dont» «touch» «anything». He kept on saying he was the owner and that the food wasn’t ready yet even-tough it was sitting there for almost an hour. People walked back to their tables and waited. The«owner» then proceeded to sit other people at our table and we tried to explain that we required the whole table for our group but he wouldn’t get any of it so we let it go. The«owner» then proceeded to take the microphone at around 8:30 and tell people that after we ate, we could take our chairs and sit in front of the screen for a better viewing experience, that after the fight there will be dancing on music from the best DJ in Vancouver(of course) and that the parking is tricky; if you stay more than 2 hours, you need to either pay extra(on top of the 2hours free) or move your car to a different parking space. And then said the magic words«food is ready». Everyone got up, pushing their chairs back, almost knocking them down for some people and everyone rushed back to the buffet. We had to elbow our way from one sushi plate to another, and if you left a buffet table, you wouldn’t be able to go close to it again. So I filled up before people sneezed on my food and went back to sit. The food is below average, but don’t take my word on it, I hate buffets but I know my foods: the sushi were«fishy» and their rice was a little hard, old. The vegetarian chow mein was a little dry. Other than that, the rest was edible and very par to buffet food, but I had to go to the washroom in a rush an hour and a half after I finished my meal. While people are eating, Pacquio and Bradley are finally in the MGM Grand and are about to be interviewed. As soon as Pacquio started his interview, the«owner» took the microphone and started talking over the interview, trying to cheer people up like«common people it’s Pacquio, cheer up!» etc etc, to which people were getting upset no being able to hear anything of his pre fight interview. Some«hey!» and«what are you doing?» were let go as 99% of the people in the restaurants were Pacquio fans and wanted to hear it. I personally thought it was weird to start that way. The fight starts a few minutes later and while the presentation is going, same thing. The«owner» takes the microphone and starts talking about … I don’t know… It was hard to differentiate the booing and shouting VS the«owner» words. At the half fight, it happened again, and some people are starting to let some«shut up!» and some«shhhhhh!» out to have the guy shut up so we can hear what the Pacquio’s corner has to say. As soon as the last round started, same thing. Turning down the fight’s volume and talking, asking people to get up and cheer. I mean really? What is this, church? Nobody moved one BIT. We all stayed sit and were looking at each other in disbelief while other were shouting«shut up! shut up!!» The last 20 seconds of the fight? Yes you betcha. The«cheerful owner» started a countdown over the microphone. 20,19,18,15,13,12,10,9,7,5,4,3,2−1 – 0. Out of sync of course. The«shut up» and boos were flying at will and people were shouting back. Also, the dancing lights were started while the decision was being given so everyone was either blinded by them or their vision blocked by other people raising their hands to cover their eyes… I would say the place has a very nice decors, the food is hardly average for a buffet and with a narcissistic — attention-seeking«owner» that couldn’t keep it shut when people were trying to enjoy the fight just ruined everything. I surely didn’t want to have to write all of this down and bore you but I had to.

I only eat here for lunch at the _all-you-can-eat buffet. The take-away all-you-can-eat box is a great deal for $ 7. You stuff as much as you can into the Styrofoam container and go back to your office to stuff your face. The food is not bad and a wide variety of Asian foods from Japanese to Chinese. I know Asian food and for a buffet, it’s not bad. It’s not great but at least it tastes good. I like the names of the dishes such as «Yummy Chicken». Cracks me up. But it is yummy chicken. The lady at the bar is unfriendly as hell. Just ignore her. This one time, we had to sit at a table with a dirty tablecloth. The waiter didn’t bother changing it and just placed out dishes and cutlery on the dirty table cloth. But again, it’s cheap. When you dine in for the stuff-your-face-buffet, it’s $ 11. Still a good deal.

Nice ambiance! Decent sushi but not much selection. Chinese food is standard«all you can eat» quality. Overall, a not bad place to eat for casual lunch get togethers. It won’t be my 1st choice for all u can eat restaurants because it does not have a wide selection. It is considered as a fusion restaurant but I think their definition of fusion is different from mine. If you are curious to try, it won’t hurt. Just don’t expect too much. Will I come back? Quite possibly

I came here with a girlfriend after her co-worker raved about the can’t-be-beat value of the buffet takeout. «Buffet takeout? Isn’t that an oxymoron?», you ask. Apparently not. For $ 6.99, you’re given a standard styrofoam takeout container, and free rein at the buffet table(s). Anything that fits into the box is yours. Interesting concept, and definitely a bang-for-your-buck kinda deal. The buffet had a range of Japanese and Chinese food to choose from. My friend and I fell victim to the«every man for themself» buffet syndrome, and crammed a ridiculous amount of food into our respective containers. By the time we walked out of there, our containers were bursting at the seams. BUT: the food is really sub-par. The Chinese food was greasy and the sushi didn’t taste fresh and had hard bits of rice. Altogether they combined into a thoroughly unappealing, lukewarm mess. Kentizen should consider takeout containers with separate sections for hot and cold food. The only things I enjoyed were the cocktail shrimp(hard to mess that one up) and the deep fried halibut pieces. As well, there were some enticing-looking sugared chinese donuts, but I didn’t grab any because I thought it would turn ultra disgusting in box of jumbled food. Maybe the a la carte food is better quality, but I can honestly only suggest this place to one type of person: those who enjoy HungryMan frozen entrees. If you’re into quantity over quality, then this is the place for you. That, or you don’t know what good sushi tastes like. PS the restaurant is huge and actually quite a nice space. However, it was dead. Which is a dead giveaway to stay away.

The décor is beautiful and the space is huge, but the food is the dumps. I came here for lunch with a few co-workers because we wanted to try a new restaurant. It was a brisk walk since this place is located inside Tinseltown on the 2nd floor. The sushi was not the greatest quality and the Chinese food was greasy. The blue plates were really cute though. The price is definitely a lot cheaper than anything downtown, but I rather pay more and get better quality. Good try Kentizen, but try a bit harder.

Ok, around 6pm and this huge space has only one table of people besides us. That should be a pretty big hint considering that Wild Rice has similar food down the street and was completely full. We order sushi and a veggie stir fry. The stir fry arrives soon but the sushi takes way more time than is reasonable. We thought the sushi might have taken so long since there was tempura in some of the sushi, and it might be taking a while to fry. The tempura rolls were all dry and seemed like they had been fried long ago though. The stir fry was more fresh and nicely garlicky though.

This place sucks. Seriously, it is a big black hole in Tinseltown. Despite the cavernous empty space, we had terrible, inattentive service, which was even more annoying than usual because we had a movie to get to. One would think that they would expect this kind of patron popping in for some food before a movie considering there is a movie theatre in this mall. The menu is Japanese and Chinese, with nothing spectacularly interesting on the menu. They also have a dinner buffet that costs $ 19 — dude, you can go anywhere else for AYCE Japanese in this city and find a better price. For some reason the sushi we ordered came way later(like seriously, 15 minutes) after the stir fry my friend ordered. Sushi does not take long to make, people. The food itself was not great either. We had a salmon tempura roll that was so dry we had to drown it in soy sauce. The Tuna-Avocado roll was probably the best we had, but that’s not saying much. I disagree with Doug F., everyone needs to avoid this place.

OK, everyone needs to try this place. As a rule I avoid buffets but this is worth it or for the bizarre factor alone. «Yummy hellibet» and«cattlefish bits» were buffet quality and were tried because of the unique spelling. Order a glass of red wine for the pleasure of drinking it from a green champagne flute! All in all, the food is what it is. It’s cheap and all you can eat. Friendly, attentive staff tops it off. Go!

I went there tonight and found it strange that such a big, beautiful restaurant was completely empty. A man was sitting at a table and I had to go ask him if I could order. I ordered an avocado roll and ebi nigiri, to go. I was given 10% off for having it as a take-out order, which was a nice bonus, but at the same time, I found it odd, since they were completely empty at dinnertime — you think they’d offer discounts for eat-in, haha! Anyways, when I got home, I found that the avocado was brown and the shrimp was very fishy-smelling and limp and sort of discoloured. I phoned the restaurant to complain and see if they would offer some sort of resolution, but(the manager?) was rather defensive. He said that I was wrong, everything was fine, he had watched the chef prepare it. I told him that I’d be happy to take a picture and send it to him or bring it back and show him that I was not randomly making this up, these were the simple facts, and he just said«There’s no way I can say anything because you’ll only believe what you want to believe. That’s how every other restaurant in Vancouver does it.» I’m a pretty understanding person and was hoping when I called, he would resolve the situation, but that lack of customer service is 80% the reason I will never return.

$ 9.00 all you-can-eat Asian lunch buffet with plenty of veg. friendly options? Sounds good to me. Before I went I was told this place was an all-you-can eat sushi joint, but in actuality its an all-you-can eat Asian food place. The food fare is mostly a mix between Chinese and Japanese fare but I was quite satisfied(and full). The service is great and this place is big so feel free to bring all your friends. The only downside? It’s located in the Tinseltown mall on the second floor so many walk past this place and don’t even notice it.
