Came in off the street with long hair that I desperately wanted to cut off. I recently had a baby who was yanking on my hair like it was his job and I was fed up… But I couldn’t get in to see my regular stylist. I ended up with Heather, who took my ponytail, chopped it off, and gave me an awesome super short but fun & funky cut that doesn’t make me feel like I have mom hair. Awesome! I abandoned my old stylist and now I’ll keep coming back to see Heather whenever I need to clean it up.

Ella did an awesome job! She took her time, helped my come up with a new style that I really like and she was super patient with all my questions about hair products.

Jesse ruined my hair.
An amateur bleach job by my stylist lead to such an extreme amount of breakage that my hair began falling out in clumps. I lost 50% of my volume and length, and was forced to cut my mid-​back length hair to a shoulder length.
$ 600 spent at the salon on one job, and one month later I’ve chopped it all off.
I’ve been denied any kind of refund or compensation. Lisa wont even compromise by giving me some free product to nurse my hair back to health.
I am devastated. Customer service was so incredibly poor.
There was no attempt made to help me, except a free $ 10 brush that they told me not to use in the end due to the extent of damage.

Lisa is awesome. I come out of every cut looking great and feeling good. After today’s cut I was actually sparkling… didn’t know a haircut could do that.

Lisa’s Chop Shop has become my new go to for a hair cut or clean up. The girls here are all super friendly and awesome at what they do. They just know how to work with you and your hair type to get it exactly how you want it. Not to mention you get a free clean up within 2 weeks of your cut to keep it looking fresh!

I think Olivia gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. She clearly has a great sense of what looks good on people and made it abundantly clear that she knew what she was doing. She was a complete sweetheart to boot and gives amazing scalp massages! Couldn’t ask for a better hair stylist!

I’m giving this a 2 star only cause my old hair dresser who no longer her works there was AMAZING as in I could go in sit down tell her what j wanted and bam even better than was in my head.
Well like i said she left (the owner does not treat her staff very nicly) and when I went in to get my normal cut I brought a pic and explained in detail what my old hair dresser did to achieve my a semetrical bob/​pixie cut. She said she got it… well… she didn’t have the skill to pull it off, is being nice i stopped her 7 times to point out she was going to short on the back top, to long on the back bottom neck (i wanted a fade) she took of way to much length and even tho I repetitively asked her to texture my hair with the *alligator* scissors a inch above my roots under a layer of top hair for some volume she ignored me and just cut diagonal CHUNKS out of my hair in what i can only imaging she intended to act as texturing, how I thought this would add volume is beyond me.
I left in tears
The ONLY redeming thing i have to say about that experience is she didn’t charge me for the cut,
but now I’ll have to wait at Least 3 months to fix this disaster on my head I’m supposed to call hair…

New update: arrived back to Vancouver after 6 months in San Francisco in which I had a spontaneous moment of perming and making my hair wild. Wild being a polite word from the real damage I did to my hair. After popping in I got to sit with Lisa who took her time to fully breakdown options of helping me repair my dried out afro. I agreed to anything as I knew she was the Lisa! First she removed every bit of Grey I had she thoroughly colored my hair throughout putting consistently back in the color. She then did various special treatments. As she washed my hair I suggested leaving it as it would dry out and I’d just leave but she insisted on letting her blow dry and straightening it out for me. Let me tell you I was giddy as a child in happiness of seeing how my hair turned out. My words were «I had given up on it» and was going to patiently wait it out but as she said don’t give up and dont accept it and it’s workable with certain treatments etc. I like them fighting words! Hah What can I say I loved Lisa’s Chop Shop since the first time I had walked in but was so much more loving it after walking out today. Any money is worth someone who takes their time and effort to sit with you and actually work with you so you leave their salon happy! My sister has been in Vancouver for 4 years and is yet to find a stylist she is happy with in which I will be dragging her into this shop!!! Also the staff and shop is filled with a whirlwind of awesomeness!!! Look no further if you are looking for stylists with great style, that know what they are doing whether it’s a new do or needs help like mine this is indeed the place to be!!!

Tried chop shop for the first time. Felt great! The staff are so warm and friendly. Lauren was amazing. I will keep coming back.

Clean, classy, fun place. I had a great color here by Ren. She listened to what I wanted and steered me in the right direction (and a different one than I was expecting!) and made me look great. She always listened to my suggestions and kindly listened to me ramble too. The cut was a little underwhelming, and really expensive ($ 65!) for what was essentially a trim. I would recommend this place for someone who doesn’t know exactly what they want, they won’t lead you astray at this salon. But beware the prices, things definitely got a little nuts (285 – 300 w/​tip)

The gals that work here are just fantastic, they are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I’m in there pretty frequently since I have short hair, I see Emma, she’s great! She’s always excited to do something fun and funky for me.

Go see Jaimie at the Chop Shop… I only trust my super difficult hair to her now! She takes the time to make sure it is cut and coloured exactly the way I want and she has a great eye for shape and colour… When I am not sure which way to go she never steers me wrong. It’s a bonus that she is easy to talk to and a couple of hours in her chair is time well spent. :)

Based on the reviews here I called and asked for someone who is specialized on lots of hair. Yes that’s my issue, a head-​full of hair. It was interesting that my big hair specialist kept saying «they didn’t teach us how to cut lots of hair»…not terribly comforting. As for the service, on a hot day I was not even offered a glass of water. Short story I was about to cry when I left the shop. On a good note my hair grows fast. The most expensive hair cut I had (spend $ 120+) and never been shocked like this! Won’t recommend this place to anyone. Sorry.

It was my first time going to a chop shop. On entering I was greeted warmly. Making an appointment wasn’t a hassle at all. When my turn arrived I was got a chance browse through a bunch of hairstyles I could try out. My hairdresser’s expertise and experience was very helpful. The feeling of a professional like her brushing through your hair gently and with care is a wonderful feeling! One that I will never forget. Through the whole session we chatted and took some funny selfies. The entire process was fantastic and at the end of the session I had a good haircut and a hairstyle that suited me perfectly! I recommend this to everyone. You will have a wonderful time and a very pleasant experience. I know I did. Cheers!

Emma has been cutting my hair for a better part of a year now. I have consistently been happy every cut and Emma knows exactly what I’ve been looking for each time.
Everyone who works at the shop is extremely friendly and the shop itself is always clean and inviting.

I had a difficult time finding a hair stylist that I clicked with. By click with I mean: understand me, understand my hair and understand how to blend those while making me look like a million bucks and making me feel at ease with down to earth chat. The environment/​feel of the salon has a big impact too, but I’d tough through alot if I found the best stylist.
I had been growing out my hair for my wedding, which has now happened and long past. The guidelines for donating hair changed too so I wanted to donate and find a new edgy short do! I have never really had shorter hair than a Bob and have been pretty vanilla with my hair.
I called the chop shop asking for the stylist that specializes in short dos. They all do. I saw Jen who is New to Vancouver and the friendliest, most down to earth gal, so easy to talk to. I brought pictures of likes and dislikes and she fully understood what I was going for. She chopped off like 20 inches of my hair and made it into the best hair cut I think I’ve ever had (the shortest!), suiting both my large head and my personality. I’m super happy!
The other gals were super friendly and the atmosphere was chill and comfortable. I think I found my new home.

It was ok. Popped in to have my short hair trimmed. Took 10 minutes with the clippers, just the sides, all one guard, nothing off the top. Can’t remember if I was charged $ 20 or $ 25… either way, more than the commercial drive chop shop (now high fidelity), heartbreakers, or bangtown has ever charged me ($ 10 — $ 15, but then I round up to $ 20 including tip). When I got home I had to neaten up the hairs at the very bottom of my hairline in the back myself.

I go here to get my hair do with Bexi! She is amazing and knows exactly how to deal with my hair. Consistent, Great conversationalist and quite stylish at it too! Reasonable price and easily accessible.

I started coming to Lisa’s chop shop randomly about 6 months ago. I know I can always count on Britt to give me a new funky purply ‘do. I love going to her as she always seems to know what will fit my personality and face structure. She’s super fun and friendly, and all the other stylists there are as well. For me, the culture of a salon is just as important as the stylist’s skills. I’m glad to have found a new salon and stylist!
Also, they use Elumen brand hair colour which is super permanent and super awesome for maintain the purple highlights in my hair. My previous colour jobs kept fading out within a couple weeks, which was frustrating. So far, the last couple of times I’ve put purple in my hair at the Chop Shop, It’s lasted at least 8 weeks and longer.
