Skoah skin care is great! I went in to get some new facial products and I was completely blown away by the knowledge of the sales associate, I think her name was Cayli? She knew exactly what I needed and I’ll for sure be coming back for more products and recommend others!

Quick disclaimer: I had never had a facial before this so I truly have no basis for what happens during a routine facial, or what one should expect. That being said, Skoah was awesome. I came here not sure what I was in for, and my «trainer» made me feel really comfortable and explained everything that was happening. First she asked me some questions about my skin, and the kinds of problems I experience with it. She then tailored the facial to what I needed(I have pretty oily skin with some rough/dry spots) I really liked the weird burning/tingly gel(I know the description doesn’t sound good, but it is. Trust me). It made my skin feel really fresh. There was also a serum that had an SPF of 25 which is something I have been looking for, but hadn’t found(until now)! The facial also included an arm and hand massage which was alright. It’s one of those«make you feel nice» type of massages, whereas I prefer a more therapeutic type«that kinda hurts in a good way» massages. :) The shop was comfortable and clean, and I would return. 4 stars for an overall good first impression.

Solid 3.5 for being honest, in saying they are 95% organic. Looking at their mancials versus their signature top end one, facialiscious, which includes the usual extraction but full body massage, whereas mancial is just on feet. Jenny’s here pretty nice and informative. Aftershave gel available too. In fact, a wide selection of men’s, as toners even exist. here. If you’re going to book, must be by credit card.

Now that both of my favorite ‘trainers’ are gone from this location after going for over a year … I’m not sure if I would continue to recommend this location…

Went to Skoah in Yaletown thanks to an offer from Skoah to re-try their services. I received the mini 30 minute facial. The woman who did my facial seemed very knowledgeable and professional. I was never pushed to buy anything, and was appreciative of the fact that she showed me what products she used on my face. I felt like I learned something from her. I will return! By the way I’m still using the face mask as night cream and even day cream and I feel like it’s helping increase the moisture levels in my face. Smells great too! If I could complain about one thing it would be that there wasn’t much massaging involved. Another minute would have been good :) And I still think the prices are too high for what you get.

Honestly, I have had many facials in high end places(Four Seasons Hotel, Island Shangrila) and because of so many raving reviews of Skoah, I knew I had to go there. It was such a big mistake. First of all, I have pretty good skin to begin with but it gets pretty dry in the winter. My esthetician told me how she doesnt like Vancouver so much because its such a big city.(I will not name her) She looked at my skin and said your skin is dry and proceeded to put a bunch of things that made my skin feel really really tight, dry as ever and uncomfortable. It seemed she had no knowledge on how to do a facial. She kept squeezing my skin so hard it hurt!!! oh my gosh! There was no massage. Just slapping on products one after another… :( After the facial, my face felt very dry and not good. Other places I have gone to my face always glows, feels smooth to the touch and I feel fabulous. Even worse the girl kept forcing me to buy the mask to help my skin. No way! I would NEVER return to Skoah. I will stick to having a facial at the CHI in the Shangrila instead. Update: Found better facials. will not come back

My facial was a pretty good deal, even if the lasting effects weren’t too memorable. The girls were nice, too. The problem? No samples of any kind. This was $ 2, that was $ 2 – things that I didn’t even want! Then when they did offer me a «freebie» they acted as if they were doing me a huge favour. Maybe I’ve just had too many amazing facials in other cities? The only reason I’m giving them an extra star is the excellent prices. I really can’t complain in that department. Then again, if everyone gets scared off that easily, I can see why they had to dangle the carrot in the first place. And after feeling as if I was sitting in a timeshare lecture, complete with numerous follow-up emails, phone calls, postcards(well, not exactly, but you get the idea,) I would pay double to go to a classy high-end spa. In fact, I already have, and although my pockets are lighter, I’m much happier without having to hide from that dreaded«knock on the door.»

I’m updating my review as three stars are too low. I sent them an email about my skin concerns and they took some time to respond but finally did. They don’t believe in steam extractions and I can respect that. I still think for facial massages they can’t be beat. They also answered my feedback about having cold hands by making sure everything was nice and warm. Aside from the facial treatments, skoah now has a brow bar which I tried out and is a-ok. I stand behind my original review in terms of the skin care.

(updated) Clean and modern. A place for express skin care and good products. The store is simple in design and packaging. They clearly don’t need the ‘fluff’ of fancy packaging. Whats important is their products work. I have had many facials through the years elsewhere and this one at skoah is by far the best — repeatedly The products are amazing. Over time they have slowly gained all of my business for cleansing routines and I now use their skin wash, toner, serum and aha mask I had to get a cleanser in the states recently as they dont have skoah where i travelled. But my skin did not like it. When I got back I went back on my skoah routine and in 3 days my skin calmed down again. I have sensitive skin and skoah is mild and it just works. The products are without a doubt fabulous. It took me about a year to find the right skoah combination between cleansers and serums but with a little patience it is well worth it. I heart skoah :)
