Neighbour gem. No frills interior décor but the savings are passed on to the consumer in the form of rock bottom prices on all items in the store.

I usually don’t write reviews for grocery stores so this is an exception; I only came here to pick up a large case of sour cherries, imported from California, and have to say the produce was top notch. The prices are quite reasonable but the customer service could dramatically be improved.

A gem of a store. I often drop in there after going to Ambleside Park. Considering the location — everything is pricey in West Van — this place has excellent fresh produce for great prices. For produce, it’s often surprising how little you end up paying at the cashier for full shopping bags. Fruits and veggies are easily ½ or 1⁄3 the price of the average Vancouver food stores. For example, Ambrosia apples around 0.79 — everyone else does 2.50. And they have lots of different types of fruits, veggies and bulks nuts. So you get lots of variety as well. Not much organic, mind you, but that’s A-OK with me — I watch my health by limiting processed foods, salt and sugar, rather than cooing over $$$ organics(I eat more organic meat in the hope the animals were treated more nicely). You do need to check for freshness here — sometimes it’s a hit, sometimes it’s a miss. Decent choice of grocery items like pasta, mayo, spices and dressings. Lots of Persian food, yes, but non-Persian stuff is also mingled in between. Not much in the cheese and deli department however. If you cut out pork, that limits cold cuts quite a bit. And, yes, the lineups can be a tad slow, but that only happens about 10% of the time.

My wife and I love going there for groceries. We don’t care much for all the Iranian food that we don’t know but most fresh produce is amazingly cheap. A bit of a problem is the fact that you may not find what you are looking for depending on days or weeks, and sometimes it is very fresh, others quite not anymore… But the price is unbeatable on many items! Everyone there is Iranian and want to speak farsi to you…

rude rude rude rude cashier. I actually can’t believe that I was just told, «these are your groceries, bag them yourself». Maybe this is the new trend of service in west van these days but it is not what I am used to. Trying rather hard to find the owner/company that runs this place so I can write a formal letter of complaint.
