Non organic hot foods and some salad items. OIL OIL AND MORE OIL. SUGAR AND OIL.
Salt. Salt and MORE OIL!
Pizza is leftover crap from salad bar and olive bar on a tasteless salty crust with a ton of oil and barely there toppings and now $ 4.25! holy crapola! more expensive than the best pizzeria in downtown.
Recipes changing for the unhealthy (starts with sugar and fat)
Costs going up even on usual items you can find elsewhere ie. non-​organic Driscoll strawberries more expensive here
$ 1 increase in almonds! crazy. (some $ 5.49).
Cakes made smaller and placed in bigger containers. Then containers made smaller and fitting the size of the cake. Some cake slices tiny and others bigger. one layer instead of the usual two. No marscapone cheese but only whip crème on the cake slices (individuals)…ie. recipe and quality is different than the cakes.
Whole cakes prices increased dramatically.
Shopping for fools only.

The West Vancouver Whole Foods is becoming a bad excuse for a food store… let alone organic.
This West Vancouver store’s catering is not much better than IGA, or any other mainstream grocery chain. I had ordered an Easter Ham Dinner. The picture on line, showed a baked ham… beautiful asparagus & roast potatoes. The ham that was included was some dreadful packaged spiral ham… very ugly & hugely tasteless. The asparagus had the circumference of a tooth pick & roasted beyond recognition. My Easter Diner was a disaster.
What a huge disappointment. I will never order from Whole Foods again. Save your money!

Nice store but the prices are insane when you take the time to compare with other organic stores and I don’t understand how they can claim to take animal welfare seriously and still sell mostly halal meat. The SPCA is agains it, halal goes against canadian killing standards (stunning the animal before killing it cleanly) and is only tolerated to please a religious minority, so why is Whole Foods selling halal meat? If it wasn’t for this hypocrisy about animal welfare, this would probably be my preferred store, but I care for animals, so I shop elsewhere.

This is my favourite Whole Foods location. I have been coming here for years now and I have nothing bad to say about it to this day. They have a great selection of practically everything you could ever want at a grocery store. Their hot food bar has a good selection of food (mmm the macaroni and cheese.) The best past about this location is that they’re the only location where you can buy hot, delicious pizza. The pizza here is thin crust, made from high quality ingredients and is SO GOOD! I’ve told friends about the pizza here over the years and everyone is now hooked. You wouldn’t expect to find amazing pizza at Whole Foods, but it’s there and it’s a must try! Service is friendly here as well. Overall a great location. They have me as a customer for life!

Whole Foods may be overpriced, but I still love its wide selection of deli. Tasty sandwiches, sushi rolls, salads, hot food, and the quality is constant. Good place to go when too lazy to cook.

You know how when you go to a super fancy food store you see all this yummy, sinful food? And with it the sticker shock, but it is so good you have to splurge? You have that on Granville Island, Lonsdale Quay, some artisan food shops, Urban Fare (to an extent).
To me, Whole Foods is the same on sticker shock, minus the food extravagance. The food doesn’t particularly appeal to me, as my allegiance to organic is quite limited (organic meat I am more willing to pay for, hoping animals are treated better). And, yes, I have seen organic, elsewhere, at more down to earth prices. Not hard to do, really.
Certainly none of their food strikes me as very indulgent. I just feel like I am being fleeced every time I am in this store.

Another way to think of WFM is this. Their market cap is $ 14B for 360 stores. Poor Safeway, with 2200 stores barely ekes out a $ 8B valuation. Kroger, 2600 stores, $ 34B. Market valuation is basically a gauge of how much profit the financial industry reckons can be extracted from a firm’s customers. Profit = sale prices — cost of goods. i.e. if you can sell stuff expensively that didn’t cost you too much, you are golden.
Quite a bit of expected value /​wallet extraction happening here, apparently ;)
Oh, and not to forget that not being content to charge quite a bit, WF is now being accused of willfully mislabeling food quantities/​weight by NY authorities. After a 2014 $ 800K fine in California for similar shenanigans. That, to be honest, came as shock to me. Expensive I get, and that’s business and market segmentation which organic foods excel at doing. Dishonesty, especially from this type of touchy-​feely brand???
But at least they care about the planet, not just your wallet, right? Google up «If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges».

I won’t ever shop at Whole Foods because they lie! They say they care about animals and raise and kill them humanely but undercover footage I saw showed animals in cramped conditions, with missing fur and feathers, gashes and untreated wounds, in their own feces and urine. Is that love? Is that humane???
Plus there is NO way to humanely kill any animal! Watch slaughterhouse videos and tell us about one where the animals are nicely killed and happy to die.

I’m glad they have a whole foods in this area. It’s a good location to pick up lunch or a snack.
The parking can be tricky– sometimes it’s completely packed and sometimes there’s a ton of spots. I’m surprised there aren’t more parking spots though.
The staff are super friendly! They go out of their way to help you out.
Overall I prefer the Cambie Store, but I am happy to have a Whole Foods in this location.

This store is an experience, not a grocery store! The quality of the food is exceptional especially the fish counter and deli.
Always changing, always evolving and always fun — did you ever watch the coffee being roasted? Fascinating — some people stand there the whole time a batch is roasted.
The Whole Foods people are extraordinary — the service, the attitudes and the helpfulness. For example, one day, I accidentally spilled my coffee while sitting near the cashiers. Within seconds, someone ran over with wipe up cloths. Then, they ran to the coffee bar and got me another cup of coffee — no charge. Service — service — service — it’s one of the few places left in Vancouver where a customer can find exceptional customer service!

This is my favorite Whole Foods, Canada or US. The store is always so clean and bright and welcoming. Yes, it’s expensive but I’ve actually found the prices on organic produce to be better than other markets and the quality is consistently superior. Plus the people who work here are so nice. Once, my husband and I were looking at a display of popcorn and an employee came up, opened a bag and offered us a sample right then and there, so sweet! Shopping here makes buying groceries more a pleasure than a chore!

Best grocery store in west vancouver!!! I shop here with my wife every weekend to stock up on groceries for the week. It is really not that close to where we live but the food selection is great. Even though it is a bit pricy I still gave it 5 stars because I am happy with the selection, the location and the rapid service here. I would recommend that you shop here during the week though, weekends can sometimes be a long wait at the till

This is definitely a more expensive environment, but the quality of the produce and deli items is excellent, so its my «go to» place when I want to get a fast buffet together. It way surpasses its competitors in choice and freshness. The customer service can be spotty, but the overall is well worth the visit. Check your bill though as I am often overcharged and have to go to the service desk to get a remedy.

Best Whole Foods Market I’ve been in, including USA locations

This Whole Foods is amazing. Sure, things are a little finerand on the pricier side (with lots of regular items and 365 value products as well) but their customer service is top notch, the displays inspire me to cook, and it’s a great place to get everything from grocery, soap, gifts, and household products… even Christmas crackers during the holidays.
I also discovered that their muffins have extra large muffin tops! My favourite part!

I come here when I need fresh veggies and fruit for snack before heading to my fav record store. Prices are hit and miss, however, customer service has always been friendly. There is a lot of room to shop which is appreciated.

I love Whole Foods but fuck they’re expensive. Yes, I’ve finally come out and said it. I do love WF. I love being able to get Filipino adobo and afritada at their lunch bar. I sometimes dream of living in the hot deli section.
I love how their marketing genuises make you believe that spending money there is good for your body and soul. Gluten free double chocolate cookies in bulk? They taste like sawdust if not for the saving grace of dark chocolate chunks but yes please! Cruelty-​free meats? It’s the price of my car but hey, I may as well spend money on something that «matters».
I love discovering new micro-​brands and products that don’t exist anywhere else in Vancouver, like Three Sisters dark chocolate instant oatmeal. And goddamn, those pumpkin chocolate muffins get me everytime. But here are a few lessons I’ve learned from sneaking in there after work.
1. Absolutely do not go in there hungry. You may as well be a gambling addict going into a casino.
2. Go on a weekday so you’re not fighting West Vancouver moms for parking and grocery aisle space. You will lose. They have all day and you don’t.
3. Don’t go in there with a $ 20 budget. You will inevitably fail. Be realistic. This is Whole Foods.
4. Be smart. Only go to get the stuff you can’t find at a regular grocery store or you’ll be out a mortgage payment.
5. Allot about an hour. Any longer and you will never get out of there. See number 4.

Its an amazing grocery store.
But beyond its an exceptional place to run in for lunch and dinner.

Small selection. Check.
Absurd Prices. Check.
$ 30 for 2 things. Check.
This is a typical WF. I spent 25 minutes deciding what I wanted to grab for dinner, not because they have a good selection, but because I had an extremely hard time justifying paying $ 12 for a small salad and $ 7 for a cup of soup. But I was hungry and also tried their maple syrup smoked salmon bites and holy $%^& was it delicious! I could live off of those.

I also like to refer to Whole Foods as Whole Pay check, but that is beside the point.
I love the salad bars at Whole Foods/​Capers. My love of said salad bars is not limited to this location. They are all equally fantastic, convenient with an abundance of selection. Everything from mac n cheese to ratatouille to your favourite dessert.
Furthermore, the general selection of produce, seafood, shell fish, meat, preprepared, and bulk foods is fantastic.
Put this on your list of «Things I Must Do Before I Die» (Ok, I admit, that’s extreme. Just put this on the list of food you need to eat):
The chocolate chip peanut butter in the make-​it-​yourself-​peanut-​butter section. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR, right?! Amazing.

Excellent grocery market. All the produce is organic. The place just makes your mouth water when you go in. I went in full from dinner, and still managed to snack on things.
I remember one time I came in, looking at energy bars, and the person working there asked me if I wanted to try. He just opened the bar on the shelf, and let me eat it. This place has great service, and the people working there are honestly happy people.
You may end up broke once you leave the store though, but grocery shopping should be like this. If your not shopping for groceries, and you want food, come here as well. Their cooked food selection is amazing!
