Very disappointed with breakfast today, eggs cooked wrong after specific request and then waited twenty minutes to see waitress again to tell her I needed them fixed. They eventually were sent back and when they returned this time over cooked… She didn’t ask if they were OK, never saw her again. The place was understaffed, too many people being seated with hardly any wait staff. Never got a glass of water and the tea pitchers had old dried egg yoke on them looked dirty. My husbands eggs were served cold and also undercooked. We felt we wasted our money today, left upset. We don’t plan on returning, that is second time I’ve been last couple months and eggs undercooked. It is a breakfast place please prioritize eggs!

This place has a rustic feel, with awesome stained wood floors and beams. Lots of space, and the staff is friendly! The breakfast is great, and priced fairly cheap. Give it a try!

Friendly staff but our food took very long to arrive and was cold. I ordered a New York strip loin and it was average tasting, aside from being cold of course. There are much better steaks elsewhere however.

We went for a big brunch Sunday afternoon. The place was paacckkkeeeedddd. I assume that that’s usual for their Sundays. The food is really good and the wait staff is great too. Just make sure to ask your waiter or waitress if you have questions cause the other staff members probably won’t know too much about the menu. I ended up getting an eggwhite omelet with cheese and mushrooms and home fries. They have two optioned for home fries, deep fried or grilled with onions. Definetly go grilled, I made the mistake of going deep fried and they aren’t anywhere near as good as the grilled. I also tried my friends waffles. Amazing! Huge a puffy and crisp and great. The only issue is we were not able to reserve a table, which was kind of annoying. When we got there, there was a line out the door so we almost left to find another place since there were quite a few of us. But it turned out someone in our party got their early and we just kept adding tables to our area as people left.

Don’t all come here at the same time. They can’t handle the volume. Foods good but if you come with more than 2 people they can’t handle it. Another Windsor greedy spoon. Better to stay home and save my money.

Was surprised to see only three stars for this place. Our experience was certainly four-star. Walked in and were seated immediately. Server was at our table within seconds and coffee was seconds after that. We didn’t know what some of the things were on the menu were(being from California) so our server was quick to explain them. When we asked about peameal, she was quick to run off a get us a sample. Coffee was great! Food was very good and served quickly. Would come back here in a hot second!

They charge for refills. Just keep this in mind when you order pop. Food was not very good(omelette) and the salad bar was not very fresh(I normally love salad bars) and had only iceberg for lettuce. I had to ask the busboy to get us a refill as waiter was no where to be found for quite a while. The busboy brought the refill and until we got the bill we had no idea refills were not free. So $ 28 or us an omlette, two cokes and a salad bar. Not for me.

Definitely not what we thought it was! As soon as we walked in the smell of wood reminded me of my grandparents house! The food was very good(wasnt fond of the salty crisoy bacon). But I would go there again!

The food here is so good! I got the lumberjack omelette with the grilled potatoes. Both were quite flavourful!!! The coffee is also quite pleasant. The only complaint I have we’re the chairs. Both my wife and I were uncomfortable in them. Otherwise I highly recommend

Personally, I love this place for those hangover breakfasts. The first thing you notice when you come in is the delicious smell of fire(I think that’s the smell) and quick service. The food is always greasy yet delicious(especially the home fries!), price is very fair, and the atmosphere is just oh so cozy! This place is also great for groups! Would recommend to any of my close friends in a heartbeat!

Great breakfast joint! It’s a good price for what you get. I would definitely recommend this place. Just keep in mind weekend mornings are jammed pack with ppl!

Had the«Scott», which was completely drowned in hollandaise sauce. Normally not such a bad thing but the sauce overpowered the flavour of the poached egg muffin. Everything just tasted like sauce. The French Toast was just passable as well. The portions are decent though and not too pricey, however you get what you pay for.

I’d love to rate this 5 stars but the service is far from acceptable. My group(24+) have come here on and off for about a week. The weekend staff are amazing. The weekday staff, with a few exceptions are horrible. Food however is amazing. Great coffee. Bacon always done right

I don’t get it. I’m totally into kitsch. Totally down for retro. I can take a good grease-kicking like the rest of them. But this place is a dingy, grimy, cholesterol-laden, taste-starved outpost of bland on the corner of Wha??? and WhaEvah! They got the extra star because my cholera test came back negative.

Came here around 7:30 A.M. with my boyfriend(April 9). We’re both students so we had class in an hour or so, and I really wanted some breakfast. He’s been here many times for post-swim practice breakfast with his team and I’ve been here one other time for their battered white fish(It was a big piece of fish that was limp and tasted gross. I made myself finish a quarter of it before I called it quits). This particular morning, he ordered The Lumberjack special(the first morning menu option). Came with 2 slices toast(cut into triangles), 2 eggs(he had them sunny-side up), meat option(he chose sausages) and home fries. I had a one egg(scrambled), sausages, and a side order of home fries, and it came with toast. He liked his eggs and so did I. But it wasn’t anything special, something you could make at home. He liked his sausages and so did I. Meat is juicy and packs a lot of flavour. He liked his toast but I didn’t touch mine because I was kind of full already. Now, the home fries. They’re made with garlic and seasoning which sounds fantastic but they’re not really memorable. They taste okay. On a scale of O.K., 1 being ‘okay I guess… wouldn’t try it again though…’ to ‘OKAY! Yeah!’, it was like a 4? I made potatoes the night before and they were WAY better than these. He noted that. I’d go to Elias on Ouellette(right by CIBC) for some awesome home fries. Service was good. Place had a few tables of four and five full(they open at 6 A.M.) so it was nice. Mostly truckers or construction workers. I would come here again to try other things on the menu but only because my friends give SUCH great reviews here so I’m trying to find something good. Would NOT come again just for the home fries.

When I visit my hometown of Windsor, my family always makes a point of coming here for breakfast. The food is delicious, the staff über friendly and portion size big enough to feed, well… a lumberjack. Be prepared for lineups on holidays, but the staff can turnover tables quickly and the place is larger than it appears from the outside. I have yet to be disappointed with any menu item, and it is mandatory that you order your home fries«spicy»…

Incredible Breakfast place in Windsor! Perfect Hangover food The Lumberjack is a restaurant located in a small strip plaza on the corner of Tecumseh Rd and Howard Ave. The place itself looks like a restaurant but has that diner feel for me, despite the old country logging décor and such. The menu serves up comfort food classics along with their breakfast. The service is beyond stellar, as our waitress was really comforting to us despite how hungover some of our buddies were. There are a variety of things to order. However, all but one of us ordered breakfast. The Timber Special was the favorite choice as it’s 2 eggs, homefries, toast, choice of meat(ham, sausage, bacon, or peameal), and a stack of flapjacks. My one buddy ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich, which was a mistake… The Timber Special was just amazing. I’m not sure if it was the fact that everyone was hungover that enhanced it, but I loved it. Ham, eggs, and homefries were great. Eggs were cooked wonderfully sunny side up. When i ordered ham, I didn’t expect 2 whole thick slices of ham! The homefries were standard cut up potatoes. You can have them grilled with onions and peppers for $ 2 more, but I decided against it. They give you LOTS of food and the toast was no exception. The flapjacks, on the other hand, weren’t that great. Tasted just like Instant Mix to me. I was already full by the time I got to the pancakes that I didn’t really care anymore anyways. I also ordered up a side of what they call a «Logger Piece» which was only $ 1.99 as an add-on. The waitress explained it in such great detail that I had to order it. It was a chunk of pork tenderloin that was basted in Portugese spices and came served with tomato and lettuce. It tasted alright. It was pretty much a thicker piece of a grilled pork chop. Not bad for an extra $ 2 though. My buddy ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich, which looked good, but he definitely should have gotten breakfast. Portion size was big and he thought the meat was tasty but a tad dry. It was chopped up pieces of beef drenched in their BBQ sauce. Even if it were good, avoid it and go for breakfast. Don’t come here and NOT get breakfast. You’d be making a mistake. The portions are large but the prices are not. It definitely will be one of my go to breakfast spots now.

The«LJ» is an annual family tradition on the Monday August civic holiday. They’ve expanded in recent years and can handle large parties quite well.(Naturally, with advanced notice.) There’s a range of breakfast items to satisfy most. The Timber special is a massive plate o’ carbs ‘n’ grease and I love it. 2 eggs, home fries, sausage(or your choice of breakfast meats), and 4 pancakes. I never get enough pancakes in my diet. All this for about $ 8. Kids might like this place as there’s a «claw» game near the cash. For a toonie, you operate this claw and try to pick up a range of stuffed animals. Every game is a winner as the claw operates until it picks up and dispenses something. The kids in my family need to be dragged away from that machine.
