In a word — really good Indian place which is away from the touristy area. Longer version(for the brave) — after work my colleagues who live in HK decided we should go check this place as they really like it. What I love most about Indian restaurant is the smell of spices as you walk in, this place is rather small but it was not too crowded. We sat down and ordered some starters — naan bread basket and veggie samosas Both were really good, but we really tried to not eat it all as we were waiting for the main dishes. My dish was lamb curry which was really well seasoned and had good flavors but I think next time Id better stick to the chicken as usual. Dishes are not too big but the portion is in a sufficient size to fill you up :) We also ordered some rice — take the yellow rice, so tasty! The service was really good and everything was served to the table with a smile. The bill was very sane compare to the usual HK prices I’ve encountered during my travels. So if you’re around and like Indian food, come check it out :)

I always seem to want for Indian food when it rains. Must be something about all that spicy goodness enveloping me like a cozy duvet: it’s comforting and familiar. And with so much downpour last week in HK, I wanted — no, needed — some solid Indian fare. Enter Namaste. My order included some of my Indian staples — chicken korma, basmati rice, a veggie samosa, and butter naan. Clearly this is too much food for one person but my craving for all these flavors was too overwhelming to ignore! I really enjoyed the chicken korma. It was near flawless, really — the sauce was rich with the perfect amount of spice but was nicely smoothed out by the almond flavor. And the basmati rice… wow! Loved the addition of finely grated veggies and peas and I think the mystery ingredient was probably a heavy handed touch of butter. The samosa was also quite good but the naan was slightly undercooked. Again, probably a bit too much butter which might have resulted in the near soggy texture in spots. Overall, an excellent meal and a good value. I’ll definitely be looking to Namaste to satisfy my future cravings for Indian grub!
