Balloons!
Thank you Michael Faraday for balloons! Dearest Michael do you ever contemplate the joy your rubber creation would bestow? Thanks to you I get propositioned by little children whenever I walk about with Unilocal balloons.
The tone varies from the utter joy of a child that will probably become an actor,
«MAMMY! LOOK LOOK! BALLOONS! RED BALLOONS!»
The more cautious child that will probably grow up to be an accountant tugs at his Mum’s skirt,
«Mammy, why does that woman have a car full of balloons all for herself?»
The more aggressive child that will probably grow up to be a stockbroker shouts,
«You’re too old for balloons, give me one!»
Well that was quite the ramble. Basically one of my duties as an employee of Unilocal is to blow up balloons but you have no idea how hard it is to find places that blow up balloons — seriously.
Because Forte does I give it 4 out of 5, the only downside is it’s inconvenient location which means I have to walk through King street like a clown with balloons and unwanted attention of children. Then drive my tiny car unable to see out the rear view mirror… All so that you dear Unilocalers can enjoy said balloons.

Okay, so it’s not exactly the weather for ice-​cream, but walking around a shopping centre clutching a drippy, two-​scoop cone is every Irish person’s inalienable right.
Parisians might stroll arm-​in-​arm down the Champs Ellysses, smoking Gauloises and dicussing Exestentialism, but we look in windows of chain stores licking mint-​choc chips, (no food allowed in the shop), discussing the X-​Factor.
Fortes does a good range of flavours — not too many, but certainly not just vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, and is generous with the scoop and topping shaker.

I wish I lived closer to Stephen’s Green so that I could go to Fortes Ice Cream every day. Of course then I’d be twenty pounds overweight…
This kiosk has all the colours of the rainbow. The whole place just makes me happy because whenever I’m around Fortes I feel like a little kid again.
It sells delicious creamy gellato in fun flavours like banana. It also has soft vanilla ice cream that you can dip in strawberry or chocolate. Finally sugar fanatics can get their slushie fix here.
