Able to have quickly served meal when we explained we had to get to an opera nearby. Wine and food were excellent and the staff very attentive. The owner took time to explain wine sections to us.

I was in search of veg/vegan options while in Florence and came across 5 e cinque while walking the streets. I’m really glad I found my way inside! Pleasant staff that helped with any English translations, flavorful food, and a nice setting. The menu is small and simple, which I often prefer. Food were a little smaller but still big on flavor(veggie couscous was so comforting). I was a little disappointed with the wine selections but I fully away that’s just a matter of my own personal tastes(wish they offered a more full bodied red). I’d definitely recommend!

My experience in this place has always been awesome and if you follow my instructions below you’ll have the same! First: the location is exceptional, the«rive gauche» of Florence offers a multitude of typical small places that make the city thrive Second: It’s always full, you must book in advance and this is synonym for happy costumers Third: their menu changes along with the seasons and their bio choices are definitely aimed to vegetarian gluttons Try their cecina as entrée, then pick one of their pasta choices(the ravioli for ex, they’re freshly home made), as a second course go for pastiches or eggs and choose cereals balls only if you like dry food. As dessert pick something fruity and definitely get their bio espresso. As for the wine, stick with white. There you go, enjoy!

Not worth it, forget this place and please just go to Cuculia instead! You won’t regret it like we did visiting this place. Walked in at 7, and server told us we are not open yet, we open at 7 in ½ an hour. Umm? Okay so we wait outside for 15 mins and she opens the restaurant so we walk in with other few guests who also want to eat there. Guy server was much nicer than the lady server. Pan fried whtie Rice with zucchini and carrots with sesame seeds… No sauce? All dry? Plated horribly. Like I made it myself and threw it on a plate. Bread tasted old, no offer for balsamic olive oil Waiter had to tell us the entire menu in English and he did this for several other guests too. Menus are printed on regular paper so why not just add English description at the bottom of each item? Dessert didn’t sound appetizing so we went out for gelato.

We noticed the 5e cinque when we were having diner at the 4 Leoni. As a newly converted vegetarian, I got excited by their menu and was really not disappointed! We had dinner on the terrace in front of the restaurant, overlooking the square, great setting. We tried the hoummous, the cecina, the risotto with leaks, the ravioli and the asparagus and blue cheese pasta(yes that’s 5 dishes for 2 persons, don’t judge!). And everything was simple but amazing! For desert, the almond and orange cake was fantastic, very light but tasteful! The husband of the chef chatted with us in French for a while, and the service was really good and quick too. Perfect spot for a cosy evening in a not so touristic place(as much as that’s possible in Florence!)

Excellent service and great food! The rice/risotto dishes are very good and our salads were excellent. The staff went far above and beyond the call of duty in helping me retrieve my lost camera. Very friendly people, and a very cute place in a little piazza across the river from where we stayed. We’ll definitely go back!

Enjoyed this place! Food was excellent and it was nice to change it up from pizza and pasta. They change their menu daily based on what is fresh and available !
