Was told about this place by a Contiki tour manager. Went searching and finally found an info booth. As soon as we told her what we were looking for, her face lit up so I knew we were on the right track. Just a short walk from the Vatican, this place was well worth the wait. Every pizza I tried was out of this world. Have sent everyone I know here since and I envy each bite they take!

It was an interesting place and taste. Not my favorite type of pizza but definitely unique. The prices were very affordable. The one negative is the seating, there is none basically. Also, this is not traditional pizza. It’s pretty unique.

It’s a place that sells pizza per net weight. It was okay. Quick and cheap if you’re broke. Nothing amazing but nothing else to complain about it.

People just to be clear this is not a sit down restaurant and it can get busy but the locals really eat here. Other thing to note service is cultural and so far in Rome the places with the upmost kiss your ass service has the worst food. This is a take away joint and inexpensive(fast food) of course you’re going to get a little attitude if you order the wrong thing and then don’t want it after its already been heated. Anyway I’m just saying this is really good pizza to me and i get that whether you agree or not is highly subjective. But if you’re going to complain about service at a place where you can get good pizza that is mixed in with with a bunch of strictly tourist places(needle in a haystack), and cheaper than an extra value meal at McDonald’s you don’t belong on Unilocal

Ok people this is NOT good pizza! This is mass produced pedestrian pizza. And it doesn’t come out hot even when we gave it back to them to reheat it it still came out cold. We took two bites and tossed all our pizzas in the trash. Being from NYNJ where you get the best pizza I know good pizza when I taste it and this ain’t it. We had great pizza at other restaurants in Rome. This was terrible and should be avoided if you can wait to get a little farther from Vatican City and eat at a better quality place. There are so many delicious little places in Rome no reason to eat this stuff.

5 stars for quick delicious eats 1. we tried most of their flavors and was not disappointed 2. when it comes fresh out of the oven, it has a nice thin crispy crust. which makes it easy to eat

The pizza was excellent; the service… eh, well, it could have been faster. The lady behind the counter served a few people who came in after us, so I finally decided to be obnoxious and raise my hand. No luck. But then, I broke out the miniscule amount of Italian I know, which seemed to please her, because she served us. Yay!

Fresh and delicious pizza at a reasonable price.(the cashier even rounds down after she weighs your pizza!) I would recommend grabbing a seat outside on one of the straw mats and enjoying a piece of the potato and cheese pizza.

Our guide from Can’t Be Missed Tours asked us if we wanted to sit down for a nice late lunch in Rome or just grab something and keep sightseeing. We chose the latter and we got taken to Alice Pizza. I had the prosciutto pizza and it was great. One of the great pizzas I have ever had. No tables, so you eat on the run or pull up a thin cushion and have a seat on the steps in front of Alice Pizza on the pedestrian alley. We sat on the steps and felt like a real local. Great place for a quick bite before or after touring the Vatican City area.

I want to write a review about this place cause I LOVE this place. I mean love love… I rave about it til today. I tell all my friends and family if you want a F’N good ass pizza this is the place to go! This place beats NY, LA and Chicago! I have taken friends here and let me tell you. They have returned many times in one day. And even went there before they flew back to LA. It’s that F’n good. I love the zucchini blossom. The eggplant. Even the plan cheese. Oh man I wish I was going back there soon. The service is cool. Friendly people. And can speak English plus plus. So if your looking for thee best pizza in the world this is it!!!

I feel bad for those Unilocalers who had bad service here because with a takeaway place that deals with probably a hundred people every 30 minutes you really just have to 1) say hello in italian, 2) pull out more Euro than you think you’ll need, 3) point at something you think looks good, 4) if the total is 8 Euro and you have a 10, drop the 10 and walk away with your goods before you get trampled! Ok the service is rushed and short, the crowds are huge and pushy, but if you’re looking for a nice little pizza hut or dominos, who do custom pizzas, stay home. If you’re looking for an experience with some amazing pizza, great views and an eclectic mix of people from around the world… come here and as they say, Do as the Romans do. Enjoy!

Our tour manager brought us here after our visit to the Vatican. Granted, Grace C. and I had already experienced the BEST pizza in Rome at Pizzarium and even though we had already gotten a to-go box elsewhere for lunch, we were willing to try the pizza here. This place is a small takeaway place and with our tour group in there, it was cramped. The workers were the most sour people I had ever encountered in ALL of Italy. I saw one of the girls behind the counter put a slice into the oven so I thought that she would do that with all of the slices ordered. Not so. First I asked for a margherita slice thinking that what I thought was margherita was the same in Rome. It’s not. It’s just plain tomato sauce and cheese. «Uh, wait. Can I get that one over there with the chunks of mozzarella?» She looked at me and said, «That’s not magherita.» «Oh sorry, can I get that one instead?» She says, «You mean the buffalo mozzarella?» «Yes, that one.» So she puts both slices on the scale. «No, wait. I only want the buffalo slice.» «Well you should have told me.» I thought I just did. Then she weighs the slice and just hands me the plate without warming it up in the oven. Not to mention that she looks like she’s about to kill me with her eyes. Grumpiest service ever. I ended up eating the slice cold. What had been probably decent pizza ended up leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. IF you do go here, expect attitude served with your slice of pizza. You order by the weight and don’t expect them to warm it up for you. You’d have to ask for that before you pay because they will just move onto the next customer without so much as a smile to you. Life must really suck for some people. Good luck.

Hands Down Best Local Pizza spot that I been to throughout my stay in Rome. Been recommended at this spot by a lot of people from the area(tour guide, a few shop keepers, and some security guards near the vatican.) There wasnt any seating, but the pizza made up for it. This place does get packed alot and for a quick bite to eat this, place is it. The service was okay because they were busy, but they were nice when we did order.

Not a bad place. The local cops go there. You order pizza by the weight. We had one with eggplant and the other with fresh tomatoes, basil, and salted fish(possibly a herring) The ingredients on the tomato and fish pizza was fresh and the salt from the fish complemented the rest of the pizza. However, I do think that the fish was too salty but the pizza was good nonetheless. The eggplant pizza had too much olive oil on it. Interestingly enough, the eggplant pizza actually tasted like a potato. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s very close to the Vatican city.

Awesome place for a snack after visiting the Vatican. I had a Roman pizza w/raw chicory and anchovies. My friend had the mozzarella w/tomatoes and zucchinii. Two slices for € 4. What a deal!

The weekend found the Gourmet Belly in «rome-ing» the streets of Rome… Every side street and piazza exuded a sense of charm, and Mamma Mia — numerous pizza and gelato shops! Loosening the button on my jeans, the Gourmet Belly was set free and we were ready for our quest in search of the best pizza in the city. One of my friends claimed that she knew a place serving the best pizza she had ever eaten. This was likely to be a sweeping statement, but nonetheless, I had to help her find this place to see(and taste) what the fuss was all about. Alice Pizza a taglio is located on Via delle Grazie, just off one of the main streets of Vatican City. Although it was just a small and nondescript takeaway store, this didn’t put me off as I eagerly chose three different types of pizza — Potato and Rosemary, Tomato and Mozzarella, and Pumpkin Flowers with Proscuitto. Ooooh yeah… NIUUUM! And for those that are thinking«what a guts!», relax… all the pizzas are charged by weight so you’re free to order as many different types as you like :) I made a bit of a controversial statement over the weekend, where I suggested that any pizza would taste good so long as it was fresh out of the oven, and it had a decent base. Forgive me, for I was wrong… Fresh pizzas were had throughout the weekend, but Alice Pizza a taglio definitely topped the pizza charts, and was probably the best pizza I have eaten in a very long time. Relatively cheap for Rome standards, and a wide selection of toppings to choose from.
