Awesome food. Been here a few times, and never been disappointed. Stay with what they do best, pork. Sandwiches or on a plate it is really good. The kitchen area is directly visible and clean. It’s really small bot don’t let it stop you from walking in. The owner is knowledgeable for food and about rome. And the wall is made up of remarks from past customers. Really good.

PORCHETTA sandwich. Get it. It’s so deliciously fatty and the bread is so fresh and crunchy. God it’s good here. Cute walls of people writing thanks from around the world… get a good sandwich before heading over to the Colessum as this place is less than 5 mins walking distance.

What a fantastic little sandwich shop! It totally made our day to visit this place right after visiting the colosseum. The owner, Fabio, was super nice and gave us great suggestions for new places to visit off the common tourist path. The spot is intimate, so we chatted with other customers as well, and really enjoyed our time. We also wrote on the wall, liked them on Facebook, and well now I’m giving them the glowing Unilocal review they deserve! We were made to feel very comfortable as we shared our Traiano panino which was absolutely amazing(and I typically hate mustard!). We are planning on returning again and again when we come back to Rome later this month at the end of our European vacation. Thank You for your hospitality and the amazing panchetta sandwich! Next time, we will go all out and take some food to go too!

This was our favorite place to eat at! We came every morning that we could when we stayed in Rome! For 6 euros, my boyfriend and I would split a sandwich, and then take it to go and walk around for the morning. Always get the Traiano. They make it several ways, including the Roman style, but get it as it, on the menu! Best way to have it in our opinion! They deliver the porschetta(pork) every morning fres! It was slow the first morning we went, and Fabio, took my tourist map, and told us about these non-touristy places we should go!

A little late for this review, but in August, my friends and I were on a quest for a restaurant with great porchetta(and vegetarian options). Pane & Vino was an awesome choice. It’s a little shop just past the Colosseum that’s mostly standing room only. You order at the deli and you can watch them make your sandwich. It looks like it’s mostly a local spot, but everyone was super friendly, even to us tourists. They just call your name when your sandwich is ready, and most people carried it out to eat. I ordered porchetta. It was simple. The pork had a slight crisp on the outside but was otherwise very tender, flavorful, and juicy. My friend ordered the porchetta special, which was the size of her face and came loaded with veggies, and my other friend ordered the vegetarian surprise which was equally as big and even included eggplant. All of us loved our sandwiches. We chose to eat outside, and each time I went inside to grab my order or a napkin, they would cheer and greeted me by shouting«Christina!!» They were very friendly. And, even though they were swamped, Fabio(the owner) personally came out to check on us and make sure that we were enjoying our food. When I return to Rome, I will definitely return to Pane & Vino.

Ehh this spot is cool but not amazing. I came here because of the Unilocal reviews but after I walked to a bar down the street, they also had paninis that looked just as good but for a lower price, plus the other spot served alcohol and had more seating. Maybe I’m too American but the people behind the counter looked annoyed when I was trying to figure out the menu that they only had in Italian. Based off of the«heavy traffic» you would think that they had menus in more than one language like various other locations here in Rome. Or you would think that they were more patient when customers are looking at the menu, especially when there is no one else in line. I guess what turned me off the most is that the guy making my sandwich straight up coughed in his hand while he was wearing gloves. That totally turned me off but again, I didn’t want to come off as a «snotty American«and said to myself«you won’t die from his cough» but I mean, it did make my sandwich seem less pleasant especially since it wasn’t to die for. I definitely won’t be coming here again, I’d rather spend my money at another panini spot and suggest others to do the same.

We went to this place to grab a quick lunch before our colosseum tour. The inside of the shop is small and the seating is fairly limited(we got it to go). The sandwiches were delicious, but what really shined was the amazing bread that they were made with. It was crusty and light. We met the owner of the shop who was very friendly and nice. All around really great, pieces were very reasonable too.

Great spot to stop in for a quick sandwich. Ate there several times and not a bad dish in the house. Had a nice cool glass of wine as well, which was needed in the land senza ghiaccio.

Excellent sandwich and salad! Nice people, good price, and just off the colosseum. I took the traiano and my gf the salad. Not much place to sit, but it wasn’t that busy when we were there so it wasn’t a problem.

Service great and get the porchetta. It was excellent. We got the plate and the couple next to us got the sandwich with special sauce, which they liked! Go… worth it!

A hidden gem! The owner is very friendly and will explain the menu to you in a way you’ll understand, if you’re not an Italian. It’s very tiny and reasonably priced, especially being around the Colosseum!

If you like to try a typical porchetta go to this place. The sandwiches are made with love and taste delicious! The owner is very attentive and lets you feel warmly welcome at his cute restaurant. A perfect place to stop at close to the colosseum.

A really fun and friendly place. I asked them to «surprise me with something vegetarian» and they whipped up a spicy, massive masterpiece.

Best sandwiches you’ll ever eat in Rome ! The chief is extremely nice, he lend us a can opener because we didn’t have one, and offered us a crisp pack for free while we were waiting for the sandwiches to be done. If you don’t know what to choose, just follow his advices. He can also speak French really well. Definitely the best place to eat in all Rome !

Hidden, but not far away from the colosseum is this small but very valuable Panini and Wine bar. The owner is very friendly and helpful and knows a lot of hidden places all over Rome. For us it was the perfect start in the day during our visit. Pane & Vino has an awesome selection of italian/roman specialities with daily fresh baked panini breads toasted and topped with a lot of very delicious stuff(seasonal salami selection, special ham cooked and raw, an awesome selection of pecorino cheese and fresh roasted pork. The Traiano was definitely my favorite. A must try for every Rome visit.
