My mother is really lovely, her and dad are very loyal to their regular eatiers and it takes a considerable effort to change that. So to have her suggest we go to her new favourite Butler’s for coffee and chocolate was a big deal to me. To say the truth I hate going to so called chocolate shops, but I didn’t have the heart to say no. I have been to so many around the world and all failed me miserably. It was always the same oily after taste, a bit off or soggy. Ughh. They were about to close when we arrived, but we were pleasently greeted, we checked out the selection of chocolates ordered two flat whites and sat down. The coffees come with a piece of chocolate each for free. You have a selection to choose from. When it all arrived, I took a bite of my raspberry chocolate and a sip of my flat white… then I went stright to heaven. This honestly was the freshest and most exquisite in-house made chocolate I have ever tasted so far. And If I could I would give their barista a star on the walk of fame. Yes his coffee was that good. Don’t let the hidden location(being opposite Countdown in Sylvia Park) and the absloute ordinariness of the place turn you off, they do what they do exceptionally well.

I’m not a massive chocolate fan, but nothing goes better with a nice coffee than chocolate. And I was very impressed with this café in Sylvia Park. Of course being a chocolate café, I was expecting their hot chocolates and mochas to be spot on, and they lived up to my expectations; pretty amazing, especially the iced ones. There are so many different hot chocolate choices to choose from, it can be quite a difficult decision. With each coffee you also get a free chocolate of your choice. They are small, but absolutely delicious. Any chocolate lover(i.e. every single female in the world) should love this place. There are heaps of other chocolates to choose from as well, if that’s all you desire, and also some of the normal café foods like muffins, biscuits etc.

An enjoyable experience, even if it’s because you’re fascinated by their large mirror wall, which makes the café feel much bigger than it actually is! I’ve been here twice, and enjoyed their free chocolates to try with my espresso coffees. Their barista is very good, making sure to give you a nice-looking, as well as delicious beverage each time. The seats are comfortable, and the doors open up into a lovely outside area if you’re an outdoor lover. Aside from that, it hasn’t got anything better than other chocolate cafes I’ve been too, and they do tend to be rather pricey. Still, I will be back for afternoon tea sometime, because it is very nice there.

Butler’s Chocolate Café makes some great coffee, and you get a free chocolate of your choosing when you purchase your favourite mocha or flat white. The hot chocolates here are really good and probably one of the better ones in the mall. I was mostly intrigued by their wall of take-home chocolates, that range from individual chocolates you can pick, or chocolate bars ready to go. They have some really nice flavours available and after sampling my free chocolate, I will definitely be picking some up on my next visit. I think Butler’s is a little disadvantaged by it’s location in the mall, especially since it’s right by Starbucks. I’ve never seen it overly busy apart from when it first opened. I’ve yet to try their food, but I give their coffee a solid five stars.
