Best wings and piña colada I’ve ever had!!! You can sit on the deck and look into the water and see fish and dolphins from your table

Horrible service. I ordered a Mai Tai and it never arrived after 20 minutes. Nobody wants to work there. Would not recommend. There are way better places to drink than here.

I came alone and stood around to be seated for 15 minutes, then I told the bartender hello can someone please seat me or hand me a menu or something and he said sure hold on but still no one came, and I actually witnessed them seat a group of other people and get them drinks before anyone said one word to me. So I just left. Then I gave them a second chance since this island is small and theirs not many places to go which I shouldn’t have because it was pretty much the same horrible service, the waitress took forever to take my order, to ask if I needed anything which I did to refill my drink, it was like pulling teeth trying to get her to do anything… Anyway, this restaurant sucks… Don’t even come to St. Thomas, the whole island sucks.

Terrible, rude staff. Shore birds swooping through, stealing food off abandoned tables. Trying to get food from diners. The staff encouraged children to feed them! Disgusting.

Do yourself a favor and skip this tourist trap. We grabbed some wings and rum cocktails at Fat Turtle before we did some shopping at the Yacht Haven Grande shopping plaza. The wings were ok, but extremely overpriced. The cocktails at Fat Turtle were so weak that I felt like I was drinking juice. I’m a bit of a lightweight drinker, so I should have been a little tipsy after two cocktails, but I wasn’t. The view is pretty and this restaurant is convenient if you are shopping at Yacht Haven Grande, but there are so many better(and cheaper) spots to dine at in St. Thomas.

Best location on the entire Island! Great food, good prices. Extra friendly and attentive staff(if you come alone or are waiting for someone — definitely sit at the bar). Located in Yacht Haven Grande which has the best shopping on St. Thomas and is within walking distance to the cruise ship pier.

I didn’t eat and I heard their food is hit or miss but the drinks were great and the bartender Solange was super friendly and nice. I am a bartender so I appreciate good service and from what I can see, this place has it!

There service is inconsistent. Some servers need to be trained. And some of them are superb! The food is a bit generic with some dishes that pop out and taste really well. Their desert is awesome. I would recommend the brownies. Karaōke night is very good as well.

We pulled in on the yacht I run and a Captain who was with me recommended this place. I expected it to be convenient, yet horrible. I was pleasantly wrong. The $ 5 tacos are GOOD! I also tried the pizza and it rocked– not what I expected from this little waterfront bar. I made the mistake of sitting at a table the first night and had to deal with a waitress who I could tell probably struggles to tie her shoes. The next time, we sat at the bar– problem solved.

This place is horrible. The only decent edible thing was the drinks. Food was gross. And they don’t clean the tables in between visits. We came here on a Saturday and all the stores were closed. This place was the only restaurant opened. The only decent thing was the view! Also, everything was frozen…

The location of this place is really nice. You are right on the harbor next to all the yachts. Our waiter service was lacking, you seat yourself and it took the waitress a while to get to us even though it was not very full. I ordered a hawaiian pizza and I did not like it at all. my husband ordered the Mahi fish sandwich and it was actually really really good. I recommend that. But the pizza had a very thin and meh crust. There was sooo much cheese you couldn’t hold up the slice and all you could taste was cheese. I love cheese but it was so much. The ham was in big chunks and there was not much. The pineapple on it was disgusting, it tasted canned and old. I’ve used canned pineapple in my own cooking but they used big chunks that made it hard to get a bite and they were just bad.

I ordered hot wings here during happy hour and they were disgusting. I could only taste salt. I finished 2 and returned the plate. And there was nothing memorable about my cocktail. Never again.

I visited this spot for lunch after my cruise ship excursion was finished. My bartender was Josie(I think) and she made some excellent local beer recommendations. I had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and it was really good. I used the local hot sauce and my bartender already had a large glass of water in front of me before I finished my first bite! I’d definitely go back if I make another return trip to Saint Thomas!

Went to the Fat Turtle with some friends. The location was nice, but while we were eating our food we found huge portions of wax paper in our food! Management did nothing to compensate or repair our feelings. We still paid for the wax paper sandwich and they took an automatic 18% gratuity to boot. I will never recommend this place to anyone!

So we just landed on the island it was hot, then it rained on us, then it got humid… We’re starving and we need to find something fast, but we have no idea where we are! We do NOT want fast food and that was all we were seeing at first, so we pull into this place that kinda looks like a mall, but nothing is really open… And we see the Fat Turtle… We laughed and sat down to eat finally… We ordered some well deserved drinks of some sort and thought about what on earth we should eat now that we are finally on our honeymoon in such a beautiful place! The waiter and the cook were awesome to work with me on what I wanted! I saw mahi mahi and plantains, but they were in all these spices that I couldn’t have. I asked if they could make it without the spices and they obliged. So I ended up order a Mahi Mahi and Plantain Wrap with french fries. It was good with the sweetness of the plantains to complement the light white fish. The boy ordered a Burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, and grilled onions. He said it was pretty good for his first meal on the island. We hit the island on the off season, so it seems like we were in the middle of the cruise ship drop off. I can’t imagine we would want to be there on drop days! There were a few tables with locals enjoying themselves.

The only place around that understands that people should feel welcome and comfortable. Very hard working employees who make an afford. The fat turtle has the standard menu for STT with chicken wraps, sandwich and other fried items for 15 $ or so. Nothing special here. The place is located one feet from the sea. Awesome view of the bay and the ships right next to it. Sunsets here are awesome so ask to be seated next to the water.

ladies were shopping and I was getting tropical drink to cool down on this sunny humid day. it was still considered morning and hardly any cruise liner traffic yet. ordered drink and the fried calamari. things came out in timely manner and was ok. my drink came out in 10 oz disposable cup with price tag of $ was quite disapointing. this is not even pool side and i m getting tired of being served in 10 oz. its like $ 1 per oz on cheap boozeland. it was great sitting down with the view of the two docked cruiseliners while sipping the cold drink. if i have time, i might come back for some appeitizers but. thats about it.

Negatives: Consistently slow service. Dirty. I’ve never seen the tables wiped down, and they need to be. Pigeons frequently are seen tabletop as are crumbs and old lettuce… Positives: Good happy hour prices and a beautiful view is what keeps me coming back every other week.

Food– like everyone else say. solid bar food Staff– pretty laid back, nice, but if you do try to compare to continent U.S. it is Island speed service During the low season, it’s not as bumping. but during the busy season. roll up your sleeves and be prepared to dance to the music and mingle with tanned people!

If you’re lookin to stare at some gazillion dollar yachts and bump elbows with the rich… this might be where you want to go. Fat Turtle is situated in Yacht Haven and it is literally on the docks where HUGE yachts are docked while in St Thomas. Food was ok… Nothin special on the menu(typical American bar food). However I had mahi mahi on my salad and it was fresh and was very good blackened. My friend had shrimp on her salad and it was NOT fresh(tasted like mushy defrosted shrimp). The drinks… Oh the drinks! My friend and I shared a 50 ounce pitcher of what they said was a mix of rums with a little sprite. Tasty! Sharing that between 2 people will make you leave there ‘happy’! :-) All in all a good experience. Nice views of the marina/yachts. Food was decent. Waitress was attentive. Drinks were yummy.
