Quite spacious place ! And man it has plugs ! You got no ideas how much I need those plugsssd for computer. But they like to put a reserve sign on the booth table to make sure they are of maximum capacity. Well just look along the wall you will find something. Food is average I would say. And the drinks are … Okay … Average … One thing I think they can improve is … To have«ears» on those cups … I don’t really like holding the whole bowl to drink, exactly it would be called a bowl … And it is not of regular size as well… It is quite a big size of a bowl … My guess would be … The bigger surface, the faster the hot drink will be cold, the more the customer will order. That is just my wild conspiracy guess. Anyways, quite a busy place.

Love this place. They use the finest ingredients. The breads with the jams and the pastries, scones are a must try. The chocolate waffle cones with a side of dark chocolate syrup. Yum! The breakfasts are perfect. I love that they include a little salad with eggs and bread. The jasmine tea is delicious. Service is very very slow but for your convenience a 12.5 percent service charge is included. There Is free wifi and toilets.

I visited with friends, but I arrived early. I asked the waiter if it would be ok for me to sit at a four person table alone for 30 minutes. He said this was fine and I continued to look at the menu. I decided I’d order a hot drink to tide me over until my friends arrived, except I couldn’t, because neither he nor anyone else who worked there asked me if I wanted anything. I tried to get someone’s attention but failed, so I sat without a drink or a word from anyone for half an hour until my friends arrived. Otherwise, it was a great experience. The hot chocolate is amazing and the cakes and pastries were lovely too. It was busy but the were plenty of staff so the service was swift(once you got some!) It has some large tables so it’s great for groups, and also some great little booths for smaller groups to hang out in. It’s not cheap. It’s definitely not bank breakingly expensive, particularly given the great central London location, but if you’re on a modest budget, it’s a bit of a treat. Despite the dodgy service at the start, I’d definitely visit again.

Ótimo para uma parada durante a caminhada, descansar um pouco com uma xícara de chá, aproveitar o wifi gratuito e se proteger um pouco do frio! Ambiente bem agradável e boas pedidas.

Wow! Really wasn’t expecting a chain to serve such nice, healthy food! There was loads of options on the menu from bread baskets and jam to salads, something for everyone I think! There’s loads of room in this location so we were able to stay and chat long after our food was finished so it’s a good place for catching up with friends and leisurely lunches. This branch is in a great location so make sure to take a walk around southbank, especially the quirky gift shops nearby, so many nice things!

Awesome food and hot chocolate. Had breakfast here and it was great. Scrambled eggs were fantastic, toasted ham and cheese croissant was excellent. Hot chocolate servings were great.

Ive only been for wine & the warm fruit crumble w/a side of cream. I always order the above… the crumble really is so delicious! What I liked: 1. The dessert– warm fruit crumble 2. The wine — cabernaet sauvignon(chile) is quite nice 3. Ambiance is great here at night each table is lit w/a candle. ask to be seated way inside~ quite nice atmosphere 4. I love how they serve the coffee in bowls~ my french friend used to serve me coffee in bowls too ~~

Its always funny that different type of restaurants attract different type of people. As a people watcher who regular dines alone, its something I definitely notice. Seemed to be quite a lot of health conscious people here with their salads and waters(myself included) the goats cheese salad was good but there was too much dressing on IG, which unfortunately means its no where near as healthy as it would be without it. I like this place!

Ah! Le Pain Quotidien! This is a favorite franchise of mine. Love the rustic, natural wood interier. Their Tartines are what I often go for, between the Avocado and Omega 3 or the Tuna and hummus. A nice combination of ingredients and flavours that are simple and hearty. I’m often disappointed by the portions though. They’re quite small and a bit of an anti climax after you’ve read the appetising description on the menu. I nice selection of decent wines too. Service is always friendly and efficient. It’s a nice atmosphere too. A lively hum that’s not intrusive which makes it an equally enjoyable venue if you’re on your own or with company.

This is my favourite place to have dinner ahead of a concert in Royal Festival Hall or other part of Southbank Centre. Nice, organic food, with tasty vegetarian options. It gets rather busy in the evening, and the service doesn’t always keep up 100%, but I was never late for a concert. Pricey-ish but not too bad. Pretty good beer and wine selections, and good coffee. Although it is a chain, it doesn’t feel very chainey. I never sat at the communal table but it’s a cool idea.

We came by for a quick bite, but ended up here for a few hours just chatting the night away. We found that London is super friendly and no on is ever in a rush, especially when it comes to enjoying their meal. We had hummus and beef tornedos for appetizer and enjoyed a wonderful variety of desserts with more excellent coffee. We savored all the food and treats and was just delighted to be visiting the country. London is an old country and a lot of their restaurants are not just built on ground level, because just a few steps down, you’ll discover a whole area perfect for more dining space. They use their space wisely and deceivingly can hold more patrons than they appear from their outside. The dark ambiance makes it quite hard to scrutinize the presentation, but there’s no doubt in the quality and rich taste in their food. This location is right next to the London Eye and this is a place to get warm, fill your tummy and just soak in all your surroundings.

Looking for desserts after the orchestra, Le Pain Quotidien is conveniently located across from the Royal Festival Hall. The food was quite good, I had a orange infused hot chocolate, and my mother had a coffee and an espresso chocolate tart. The service, however, was less than par. After being seated no one came to take our order for a full 15 minutes, and we failed to flag down the passing waitresses several times. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service is lacking.

Walking into this restaurant in London, I had no idea it was a part of a chain. I only learned this fact upon looking up the restaurant on the internet, and discovered locations all over England, various countries around the world, as well as several in the U.S. Also, I believed I was walking into a traditional French restaurant, seeking a traditional French breakfast, but my waitress quickly set me straight that this place is Belgium. My ignorance is still in tact, and I haven’t learned what the distinctions are between the Belgium cuisine of this restaurant and what I might find at a similar place known for its French food. These facts didn’t diminish the experience or meal I had here. This place is excellent. They have the whole rustic, down-to-earth experience down. Pretty much everything on the menu is organic. Your tea and/or coffee/espresso arrives in a cereal-sized bowl, or an over-sized handleless mug — I don’t know its proper name, but have known of its existence. Since it was breakfast time, and feeling the need to be somewhat healthy, I opted for a bowl of fresh berries — blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries — and organic yoghurt. The yoghurt in this part of the world, is creamier than in the U.S., not so thick and congealed, and they aren’t afraid of leaving the sugar out and keeping it fat free. This was the case with Le Pain Quotidien, not a surprise at all. Known for their baked goods, I had to try a croissant, ordering a plain one. These are as one would expect a perfectly-made croissant to be, light and fluffy, served hot enough to be a little uncomfortable to the touch, allowing the butter to melt evenly. They have great espresso. All of their coffees are triple-certified fair-trade, organic and World Land Trust. It’s great to know there are locations in the U.S. Next month, I hope to stop by the Le Pain Quotidien while in the Los Angeles area. Hopefully the experience will be as wonderful as this one.

Consistently good, all over the world! I sing nothing but praises for this place — you really can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Fresh, crusty bread, delicious and quality French eats, and affordable prices. The most recent time I went, I ordered a bowl of the soup of the day(or soup du jour, if we’re being really Frenchy), which happened to be sweet potato. I was expecting a thick, creamy, butternut squash-esque bisque, but what ended up in front of me was a flavorful broth with chunks of sweet potato, carrot, and barley. Though it was not what I necessarily had in mind, it was hearty and tasty all the same, so who’s complaining? The soup comes with a few pieces of bread on the side, but being the carb fiend that I am, I cheekily asked the server for more… and she delivered. In fact, I probably ate a whole baguette and a pound of butter along with that soup, all for £5.50. If that’s not a steal, I don’t know what is.

Another Saturday night out with friends. We came across this place close to the Thames. The ambience was amazing. Looked like an old wine cellar or something like that. We ordered a couple of dishes — a charcuterie(which had a lot of uncooked meat) and another dish with a lot of caramelised onions. We liked both. The service was not that great and the Russian waitress was not very pleased to see us — even though it was fairly empty for a Saturday night. All in all — a 4. Would have been a 5 had the waitress been a bit apologetic for spilling the wine on our table.

I enjoyed a very large cup of coffee and one flaky, delicious croissant. One thing I eventually discovered is that when the British state pot of coffee/tea, they really mean a pot of warm, well made brew! I sat in the communal table and while my dreams of chatting up a storm did not materialize(who am I kidding? I am inhibited myself!), I enjoyed quiet time with my croissant as I planned my next adventures in London! The service is friendly and efficient and made sure my needs were taken care of. I was having problems connecting to the wi-fi and the server told me she was going to look into it. She came back and informed me she turned it off and back on and that it would be working momentarily. I was surprised at how helpful she was and sure enough, the wi-fi worked!

So very tasty! The food is really very good at this place. Wish there was one in Leeds cos I would easily become a regular. The food doesn’t just taste really French but it’s served in a lovely way with platter plates and bowl like cups. The building is bigger than you initially think with plenty of space and comfy enough seats. Would definatley recommend going to this place for a drink and cake. In fact having eaten at the one in Covent Garden I would say have breakfast or lunch or dinner too :)

Simple food, done(mostly) well. If you like honest, light meals, this might be the place for you. Oh and the bread is really good(a statement I will most likely repeat). This location is much larger than it looks from the outside, and in addition to takeaway, they have a full sit-down restaurant as well. I love the rustic ambiance, which matches the cuisine well. Last time I went, I had a tartine(open-faced sandwich) of brown bread with goats cheese, dried fig, honey, and toasted pine nuts. It was good, but not as unctuous as I wanted it to be. I also had the potato and leek soup, which was pretty much flavourless. Quite a disappointment. BUT the baked goods and bread are very nice(oh, there we go, I knew I would), and overall this is a good standby, as there are several locations all over London. Fresh and unfussy food. I’d recommend this place for a light breakfast or lunch… perhaps slightly less satisfying for dinner.

So, this place isnt serving up any culinary masterpieces or amazing displays of cookery, but its a decent place to eat when you are at the Southbank Centre and looking for some grub. While it did take a while to get served and our server was a bit MIA during the meal, that also meant that we felt free to lounge around for hours sipping our wine and coffee without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is very nice, sort of rustic romantic with dim lighting. Even with lots of people in the restaurant it wasnt too loud. The food was good. Not amazing, but not bad. The wine was good too. The prices arent so great, but its what you expect for a meal out in London.

Popped in here on Sunday afternoon for a quick bite to eat as we had been walking all day and needed some food! After walking around south bank for a bit we decided this seemed like the nicest looking place. Lovely rustic, stone cave like setting with wooden seating and nice lighting. Good Sunday afternoon vibe. It wasn’t busy at all as it was 4pm just a few tables. We couldn’t see a waiter so sat our selves down in a nice corner table. A waitress walked past us about three times(she had seen us) then stopped and said ‘You have menus’ … ‘ermm no?’ we clearly didn’t. So she bought us some menus — very grumpy indeed! My mum is a diabetic so asked for a diet coke — ‘we do not have coke we have lemonade’(no apology) my mum then asked what suger free drink she could have as she is diabetic and the waitress listed off a whole bunch of sugery drinks… my mum then explained ‘no. suger free. I’m diabetic’ The girl then moodily said ‘you can have water then!’ honestly no joke she was super moody! My mum asked in a very nice way — its not her fault she simply can’t have suger! She then didn’t ask what myself or my dad would like to drink and bought us all water. After this a lovely tall blonde waitress walked past showing some people to their seats, she gave them menus and very cheerfully explained all about the specials board. We had no idea there was a specials board :(Why couldn’t we have her instead?(this review would’ve had another star!) she then told them she would be right back in a moment to take their order. The people looked happy. Unlike me. I was upset that someone had been rude to my mummy! I ordered the warm chicken and mozzarella tartine and this was simple yumminess! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the bread was rustic and toasty. The roasted tomatoes on top went really well. One other thing I must mention was the toilets were horrible — the sanitary bins were over flowing in BOTH cubicles which is so wrong! It’s not like they were too busy to tidy the loo’s so this was just negligence!
