If you like your hot chocolate incredibly rich, and I mean, so chocolatey that even the biggest of chocoholics would feel like they’ve OD’D on chocolate by drinking this. I like chocolate a lot so that’s fine with me. I’ve never tried anything else at Paul but I assume ’tis good quality. They do lovely looking cakes and savoury stuff too!

Rather than hang out in the nearby Starbucks or try and find a seat in the very crowded McDonald’s, I wandered into Paul. It was the big glass case of pastries and treats that caught my eye and when you look at the pictures I posted, I think you’ll agree with my reasoning. Trying to look like a French patisserie I suppose, Paul has painted the walls to look like a little shop and they’ve exposed some of the timber support beams to make it look a whole lot less modern and a whole lot more welcoming than any steel and glass shop. I took a seat in the back, which was around a corner so I didn’t even see the entrance or the streets. After a few minutes, I could even forget that I was inside Waterloo Station! My large latte was excellent. It didn’t taste overroasted at all and only needed a hint of sugar. With the flaky and buttery pain au chocolat, it was quite the treat. When I’m here again to wait out a train, I’ll be back! You can sneak onto the McDonald’s free wifi. Paul didn’t seem to have any power sockets available.

Big queue in the rush hour queue before heading onto the trains on the way into work. We ordered a latte each — both undrinkable. Served at white-hot, mouth-scalding temperatures. Unacceptable.

Cute French Family Bakery and Patisserie place located conveniently in the Waterloo Station in London. From the articles on the Internet, it sounds like this location opened up in mid-2009. Although its a chain… I find the food to be pretty good. I ordered a Sésame Camembert sandwich, which has camembert cheese, butter, batavia leaves with sesame bread. YUM! Also ordered a pistachio macaron as well which I found to be a tad too sweet. My friend had ordered Pizza( ) and a Strawberry Dessert( ). She said that she enjoyed her food. Worth a stop by.
