This place actually has a lot going for it(interesting cocktails, good bar staff, seating areas for parties) but… it’s just the rest that I’m not so sure about. Maybe I’m too old for clubbing(and maybe it was the day after my birthday, I’d crawled in at 4am and didn’t actually want to go out again) but i wasn’t wowed. The dry ice cocktail seemed like a great idea, until we tried it and found that it was too sweet to drink, but the barstaff were good and they do a very good mojito. I think I paid a fiver to get in. There’s nothing here that would entice me to come back, even though I was awesome people. It wouldn’t be my idea to come again, but my friend had an awesome time on his birthday and to go with the theme they even let him play Back to the Future on their massive telly. For making him birthday smiley, they get three stars.

I went there for a birthday as well. mine! A friend helped me find the venue, and organise a guestlist for all the people going. The first 5 got in free, the next 15 got a reduced tariff,(we were 20 on the list) and anyone extra had to pay full entry(which I think was £8). Drinks were good, but the space was way too small. We’d asked to get a table and apparently were next in line for one, but with several girls nights out and one massive hen party, it wasn’t going to happen. We barely had standing room. Also, the crowd was a bit shady. So shady, in fact, that a couple of hours in the evening a fight broke out, tables and chairs overturned, guys getting dragged out, the works. On the bright side, this meant that the club emptied out and we finally got a table! The staff was lovely, and gave us plates and plastic forks to have the cake on(which I’d previously gotten from a patisserie), which was great. I’m not sure I’d recommend the venue, for unless you’ve planned something well beforehand, you’ll barely have standing room!

Ruby-Lo is a great venue — staff are friendly, bouncers pleasant but most of all its got a fantastic atmosphere! The breakdance nights are sound and the dancers great to watch! Nice seating areas and good oooold skool hip hop! But be aware drinks cost a bomb and it can get very hot as its underground!

I went here for a birthday party. Nice little venue with a bit of class! The secuity were friendly, the décor is clean and trendy, the drinks were expensive(but expected as its westend) and the DJ was great. All in all I had a memorable night here which was a mix of realxing and chatting on the large comfy seating areas and getting my groove on too — there’s a ‘house party’ feel in here if the music is right. I wouldnt especially go again unless I was invited to a party but I’d say its a good venue to have a gathering if you were looking for somewhere to have a birthday party or leaving do etc. My friend whose party it was said the guys she spoke to at Ruby Lo’s office were all really helpful and nice — which is good as some places they can be full of it. She had a themed party where people must where animal print of some kind and another party in there had silly hats so they are obviously open to these types of ideas.

Ruby Lo is quite a rare gem in the area that it’s situated in. it’s really chilled out, really cool atmosphere but the music is great and it all picks up after midnight. drinks are fairly cheap, but there isn’t a great selection.

A cool little underground club situated just of Oxford street so great for night buses if traveling after hours. Good cocktail menu with a cool chilled out crowd, every Tuesday night it plays home to break dancers battling it out. Good for early drinks after work and a good chilled night out.
