This was the reason I came to the Malibu state park. Better than I expected. Lots of informational posts and pictures that tell you about the actors, props and the show. The hike here is not to hard and it’s ok for teens. Pack waters and snacks and wear good shoes.

About 7 – 8 miles round-trip starting from Grassland Trailhead with a detour to Rock Pool before reaching M*A*S*H Site, this a family friendly trail going through grassland, shaded woods, and rocky path. We started out with a gentle climb from Grassland Trailhead. At the first junction, veer right to descend through the grassland to follow Crags Road. The view of the mountains peaking out of the golden grassland was beautiful and calming. Then we strolled though tall intertwining trees which provided lots of nice shade. Prior to reaching Rock Pool, we saw climbers top roping and bouldering on very climbable routes, but you probably want to bring your climbing gear. It seemed easy to go to the top of the rock to set up routes. Then we continued to relatively flat trail with another gentle climb to a rocky path before reaching the destination M*A*S*H set site. There were road sign and rescue vehicles for all to take fun pictures or replay a scene form the old show. There were picnic tables with some shade and waste containers for garbage and recyclables. Overall this is a pleasant trail for all to spend some quality time with friends and family. TIPS: * No bathroom at Grassland Trailhead, only bathroom observed were portal-potties by the bridge before detour to Rock Pool. * No dogs allowed, but there were lots of mountain bikers and runners. * PARKING: Free roadside parking along Mulholland Drive, by Grassland Trailhead. * If free parking is not available, you can park inside the state park for $ 12 per vehicle, 1925 Las Virgenes Road, Malibu Creek State Park, Agoura Hills, CA91301
