The lo mein were salty, overcooked, and scant on ingredients. The cook apparently doused the mixture in soy sauce off the heat, which added a pool of liquid to the bottom of the take-​out container, and deprived me of any opportunity to dial in the correct level of seasoning.
The dish labeled «Szechuan Bean Curd» was not Szechuan, but deep fried tofu cubes in generic sweet and sour sauce, complete with the red food coloring and onions and green peppers you’d find under a SneezGard somewhere outside of Texarkana.
Shoulda gotten a pizza!

Never had a problem with this Chinese spot. I don’t necessarily like a lot of Chinese places but this place isn’t bad at all. I’ve tried a few different plates from there I love their wonton soup as well!

Nice, fast and decent Chinese restaurant in Albany. You can take out or sit down. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was solid. They have good soups!

Decent Chinese that hits the spot on a Sunday night when most other restaurants are closed in downtown Albany.
Lam’s was a just around the corner from our hotel. We walked in, ordered and waited only a few minutes for our food. The dumplings were good, as was the chicken and broccoli. After grabbing a couple of drinks from the cooler, we were all set.
While Lam’s is certainly nothing groundbreaking, it’s perfect if you’re downtown and craving some classic Americanized Chinese.

The quality of food here is pretty low to say the best. The service is usually pretty good and quick, and the price is what you would expect to pay for Chinese take out… that doesn’t make up for the poor food quality though. I regularly eat here out of desperation as nothing else is open downtown on the weekend.

Stopped in here during our trip to Albany. It was almost closing time and the kids wanted Chinese food. I should have gotten McDonald’s (and we don’t even eat McDonald’s). The food was oily and tasteless. The staff was rude and disinterested. And they gave me pork dumplings instead of vegetable. We do not eat pork and my daughter does not eat meat at all, so that just ended up in the garbage. Don’t waste your time and money.

Where do I start? This restaurant is quite lackluster in both service and food. It seems to me that the staff are particularly disinterested with taking orders for food. Mentioning the word coupon or deal yields an abrupt ‘no’ from the staff. In my case, I had to clarify that it was a Unilocal deal before I was able to continue my order. On the bright side, the food was cheap and ready to go pretty quickly. I had a Singapore Mein Fun, Egg Drop Soup, and Beef Chow Mein. In comparison to some of the Chinese restaurants you find in NYC, the food at this restaurant is woefully lacking.

Honestly, most of the time you get what you pay for. I bought the deal $ 20 worth of food for $ 10 and it was great! Being a college student on a tight budget, I always look for the best deal and here it is! As for the food, it was average. No where near as good as others in the area, however you can’t really complain at that price.

Summary– Not great but not terrible americanized Chinese at super dirt cheap prices.
In my quest to try all the places near my work Lam’s was on the list, so despite my fears of getting General Tso’s Alley Cat, off I went.
Food– 2 Stars
Not the worst Chinese I have ever had. It was scorching hot. The general Tso’s chicken was OK but lacked any real flavor. There were some pieces that were just fried balls of dough as well. The «fried» rice it came with was not good.
It was cold and rainy, so I got some wonton soup. It was meh, super salty broth with very doughy wontons that definitely were ordered out of a catalog.
Service– 4 Stars
Friendly and super fast, like under 5 minutes from call in to ready.
Value– 3 Stars
Super cheap but not all that good.
Atmosphere– 2 Stars
Typical kinda gross take out Chinese place.
