The Alexandria store was extremely knowledgeable and the service was friendly and quick.

Utterly dishonest people
I asked for 3 vertical closing locks. the kind that cannot be jimmied. baldinos quoted me $ 600.the ‘locksmith’ showed up with only one and made a big show of putting it on. the burglars took it off and there is no trace of a hole’s ever being drilled to attach the lock to the door at all.. the ‘locksmith’ still charged me over 600 dollars and demanded payment immediately. tramps are using my home as a flophouse eating my food and drink, making holes in the woods ‚‘leaving wet towels. no sign of forced entry so police will not even take a report so i cannot get all the damages reimbursed.
i slept downstairs last night and twice someone walked up to the front door and inserted a key before seeing me and going away. This company should refund me and install the locks i askrd for and paid for. 2000%. dishonest.

Thank you Chris the key worked. I traveled all the way from Accokeek Md to your store I was convinced going to disappointed and have to return the key as I did with copies that were made at Home Depot and Lowes.

I stopped in to get an apartment key made. The gentleman greeted me with a smile, was polite, quick, and efficient. He took my key from me and in less than 30 seconds gave me a copy– wow! Home Depot took about 3 minutes. The copy cost me $ 5, but id rather give $ 5 to a small business than $ 3.50 to a huge corporation. I’ll be coming back here for all my lock and key needs.

I was able to get a replacement key for my car. Home Depot couldn’t do it, but Baldino’s could. Good enough for me.

Visited this location to make 6 custom cylinders for keypad combination locks. The employees and management at this location doesn’t have customer service skill. In addition to that, the manager Chris have attitude problem. He was not helpful at all, the whole time I was there, all he tried to do is trying to sale me another product for 4x times the cost that I can actually get them for. Doesn’t explain the issue, all he keep repeating is «wrong locks, wrong locks». Didn’t actually answer my questions. Plus the location closed at 5pm. Found another local shop in Alexandria, super nice staff. Made me think that how such place is still open and why would anyone still do businesses with this company?

Baldino’s offers a reliable service to cut keys. But it’ll cost you a nice steak dinner to get a car key cut !

I just visited my daughter in Alexandria and was concerned she hadn’t changed the locks on the townhouse she recently moved into in Cameron Station. So my wife and I went looking for a local locksmith who could re-​key 3 locks. Balbino’s was very close but some of the reviews were not very good. We decided to give them a try anyway and we’re glad we did. The two men who worked there were very cordial and professional. They rekeyed the 3 locks in less than an hour. They encouraged us to call them right away if there were any problems (there weren’t). I would highly recommend them.

I needed several copies of my car key reproduced. After several attempts, one of the keys Baldino’s cut still did not work correctly.
I ended up going to another locksmith who was able to make a copy of the ignition key that could start the car.

Went in to get two copies made of some house keys. They were nice, attentive and finished the copies in about 5 minutes. We took them home and one set did not work so we took them back and they corrected the problem immediately. Would definitely recommend them for your lock and key needs.

I stupidly locked myself out of the office (in Falls Church) on a Saturday night, around 8 p.m. I called these guys to get me back inside. I called from a restaurant because my phone was locked inside the building. The dispatcher was not helpful and tried to turn me down because I didn’t have a phone with me. How stupid! I’m sure others have been locked out without a phone. The bartender at the restaurant let me borrow his phone, which was nice of him. They quoted me $ 250 and said it would be a 2 hour wait. 20 minutes after I called dispatch I got a call from the technician, who was in Charlestown, WV. What? I called AA Locksmiths instead, who arrived in 45 minutes and charged $ 100 less. Save yourself some time and call someone other than these people.

After being dissatisfied with these guys a few years ago, I decided to try them again recently. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I don’t write Unilocal reviews often, but being repeatedly talked down to as a customer prompted me to record the attitude problem that exists at this establishment. The manager (Chris) was surly, arrogant, and lacked any customer service skills. He did a fine job cutting keys, but definitely lacked the people skills required for a retail position like this.
The final straw came after he went into some esoteric key cutting jargon, I commented to him that it was more than I needed to know. He abruptly told me that he was trying to ‘educate me’.
I’m sorry Baldino’s but you need to educate yourself about the intricacies of customer service.

An order that I had placed wasn’t done correctly even after I had expressed concerns over dimensions etc… After two weeks, I got bounced around. The owner was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. His associate Archie was terrible. I really wanted to bring my business here based on the positive reviews, but I wouldn’t recommend this location.

Admittedly, I’m a bit upset right now, so take this review for what it’s worth. I had just locked my keys in my car for the first time at a gas station in Springfield. I called Baldino’s because they were right down the street from where I live, and quite frankly they have name recognition.
They quoted me a price of $ 189.00 to get into my car. For that price, I’d break the window myself. Sorry Baldino’s, I will happily go anywhere else in the future for locksmith services, you will never see a dime from me or any of my friends in the area.

My experience was different than the review below.
I just moved apts and needed to have a spare key made. I usually go to Lowes and have no problem. For some reason it didn’t turn the lock. Wasn’t too worried, I’ve had Lowes give me a bad key in the past and I just had them recut (which they do for free, no problem). Also had to visit another store which was in Home Depot’s parking lot, so I had them cut one just in case. Neither worked. What the hell? Okay, just must be some bad luck. Go back to Lowes and Home Depot day three, recut both keys, the employees recognize me and both cut me an extra key no charge just to be sure. I have 4 keys now NONE WORK.
I actually thought I would have to get the master from my landlord because the key I had was a copy. I’d never been to a locksmith and thought they might be able to more closely copy the key, especially if it was that finicky.
UNBELIEVABLE. If you’ve ever had a key copied on the hardware store machines, it will blow your mind how fast these guys do it. I gave him the key, turned around to check out the safes, and couldn’t even walk 10 feet to the wall before he was done. Worked first time, no problem. $ 3. Will be back.

We recently relocated and had our locks changed with Baldinos. The locksmith was on time, efficient, and professional. He even went above and beyond by tightening a loose hinge on our door. They are priced on the high side, but you get what you pay for. If there’s one thing I am not cheaping out on, it’s locks for my home.

Needed a spare key made for a new Baldwin lock. Went to the Clarendon Baldino’s. They did not mention price before making key and charged me $ 9! Feel like I was ripped off. Will not go back.

Liars! I have an old Jaguar. Searched far and wide for OEM key blanks. Took the blanks to Baldinos on Duke Street to have the keys cut. They told me that the keys are steel — as opposed to brass — and they could not cut them. (OK … Editorial comment … They should have stopped there! But NO. Listen to this …) They then proceed to tell me that «…Nobody in the United States is set-​up to cut steel keys. Steel keys are strictly European. I need to find to brass aftermarket brass blanks.»
So … They should have stopped with the factual statement. I would have been disappointed having dealt with Duke Street traffic to get there. But NO … He upped the anty … And told a complete falsehood. Jerk! When I returned home, they first alternative that I called — Executive Lock Service also in Alexandria but 4 miles closer to my house — said «Sure, we cut steel keys. Bring them in we’ll cut they keys for you!»
And Baldinos is supposed to be the best. Best liars, maybe.

Very helpful in fixing our key/​lock problem. Prices are a little high but that’s par for the course in this industry, especially if you want/​need in-​home service. Trust these guys if you need assistance in Alexandria.

I don’t often visit locksmith shops, but I did get a chance to visit and shop at this one.
About a month ago I moved to Alexandria. Wanting to change my front door lock, I stopped in at Baldino’s. Since I know a bit about locks and security (part of my job at work), I played dumb to see how the guys would treat me. I was glad to see that they treated me respectfully, didn’t try to cheat me in any way, and were patient with many of my questions.
Though I think the prices might be a tad high, and I do think the guys try to push you towards the highest level of lock you could possibly need, they are a good bunch and I would recommend them.
From what I saw, they sell safes, locks, door hardware, and much more. They also do regular locksmith services as well.
