Do NOT buy your carpeting at Rick’s Carpet and flooring! Rick’s big come on «18 Months No Payments, No Interest» is a complete lie! We bought several thousand dollars of carpeting and within a few weeks we were billed for a substantial «minimum» payment and the payment period had been reduced to 12 months! What a fraud!
Rick’s also «negotiates» price. You feel like you are buying a used car rather a new home improvement.
There are plenty of places to buy rugs and carpets. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! We wish we had!

AWFUL! Worst experience ever. They provided three different quotes and could not stick to one. Customer service was horrendous. Told us they had a certain hardwood we were looking for in stock, so we went to the store and they actually did not even have it in stock to look at. They promised install dates that they later could not commit to. After a few emails back and forth with one of their sales reps, they flat out just stopped responding. Will never, ever recommend them to anyone.

The absolute worst customer experience I’ve ever had.
Spent $ 3,800 for laminate flooring in my living and dining rooms. I was told before signing the contract that they could get it done in a single weekend. Well… a single weekend turned into a full month! Additionally, the job went through 3 different project managers (not sure if they were each fired or what???) and they used the wrong glue for the steps and threshold pieces. They had to return 3 times to fix this issue and each time the glue still did not hold. Finally they came back a 4th time and just threw on as much glue as they fit. Now I have a thick layer of glue visibly lining a big gap between the floorboard and threshold.
Not once was I contacted by anyone at the store to attempt to rectify any of the multitude of issues I experienced nor apologize for the lies, rude treatment and extreme unprofessionalism exhibited.

Terrible service. Terrible management. Installed a floor in our kitchen. Sections of the floor not connected properly. Floor sections coming up. When contacted they sent some one out to look at it. That person promised to get back to me. Never got back to me. When contacted them again they promised to send some one out and I would be contacted. Never contacted. I would never use them again. Neighbors have asked me who did the floor. I told them and they used other companies for their flooring. I live in a neighborhood that is getting upgraded and will always steer neighbors away fem Rick’s. There are many companies who can put in a floor. Check them out first. I will add pictures of their work if Unilocal allows it so you can dee the mess they left.

Very simply, we found Rick’s to be very unreliable and over-​priced. They were supposed to place the wood in our condo 6 – 7 days before hand to let it «acclimate» but when we returned from abroad, we found out they only did so 2 days beforehand. When I asked about this later, I was told that whoever gave us that info about 6 – 7 days was wrong and natural wood only needs 48 hours to adjust to space/​temp/​sunlight etc. However, within the first 3 months, we noticed that gaps between the panels had become noticibly larger and dirt was getting trapped in between. Perhaps worst of all was the quality of the wood. We ended up paying approx $ 9k for our condo (1100 sq feet) in DC and were extremely disappointed with how fragile the wood floors are. Everything (inc falling quarters, no joke) leaves a small dent on the floor, and yet when we were instructed to go with a high-​quality product, no one bothered to mention that it was also one of the most delicate types of wood. Ugh.

We had new carpet installed in our condo back in January. We were very pleased with their selection and initial service by our salesman.
Unfortunately, things dropped off after he made the sale. He promised us an install date two weeks in the future before the carpet was in their warehouse which isn’t their protocol. They usually will not schedule install until they have the carpet in house. They ended up sitting on the order since they didn’t want to stock it for a week, so the install was never confirmed because they didn’t have the carpet. My wife had already taken a day off work to be home for the install which was in jeopardy until the actual day of the install.
Rick’s ended up making it right by having their installer drive to the distribution center in Maryland to pick it up. The installer did an excellent job and we were very happy to have new carpet. We were pleased by the follow up of their customer service team survey too. We also learned that our salesman is no longer employed there, so it appears they deal with their problems promptly.

We just used their service yesterday to put new carpet in our basement room. A guy works at the office was really helpful and kind, so we decided to use their service.
Depends on their availability but they usually come within 1 – 3 days.
For us, we only waited for a couple days. A guy who has 25 years experienced professional came to our home and install carpet within 2 hours!!!
Basement looks very nice, and we are glad to decide to use them.
I would recommend them to anybody around D.C. metro area!
They also give military discount 5% of Labor fee.

I recently purchased carpet for my condo, and was advised by my contractor to go to Rick’s Carpet and Flooring. It was a bit out of the way for me, but I went and have had no regrets. Chris, my salesman, was very helpful, very nice, very professional – and spent time with us going over the plusses and minuses of each carpet I considered. He had enormous patience., and offered me an exceptional carpet at a very fair price. At the time of installation, it turned out that there was a shortage of carpet. I panicked, but Chris put my mind at ease, and solved the issue at no cost to me. As far as I am concerned, Rick’s Carpet went way beyond their obligation. VERY NICE FOLKS!!!

So… to be completely fair, the general manager called me this week and apologized for the poor service. He offered me other services (tile, general contracting) at discounted prices to make up for my dissatisfaction.
